Moving... Damn, he really hated moving. There was always a rush around the house. Everybody was frantically moving things and busy making preparations or whatever. Why couldn't he just skip his classes and unpack with Brooke and Bobbi? No, his mum didn't want that, though did she? She had strictly commanded Daniel and his younger sister to go to Riverside High this morning. They knew nobody. At least, not yet. If only he was a bit more social, like his sister - who was just a burst of freshness and a social butterfly, maybe he could pick up a few friends. But friendships were unlikely for Danny. He tried to not get too close to anybody. He could be crushed or hurt. He knew nobody; anybody out there could want to hurt him... they could want to hurt Belle.
He had no clue as how his sister got over physical and verbal abuse so easily... was she just that used to it? Had she gotten over the foster-care system, and going from house to house, and meeting new people? He was really unsure. His sister was a strange person, and he had trouble understanding her sometimes. Whatever. He had no idea where she had gone. Probably off with a posse of girls who were all sunshine and flowers, just like her. He had an urge to follow her around and protect her, to keep her under his jacket to himself, but he knew that she would never allow him to keep her so concealed from the world. Daniel really did truly care for her. Maybe he was a little overprotective... but, after what they had been through, who could blame him?
He sighed as his gaze scanned the cafeteria. He saw Belle sitting in one of those tables with some other girls. She looked happy. He looked at the girls suspiciously before averting his gaze; he didn't want to seem like a pervert or a creeper, really. Danny made his way over to a table in the back of the cafeteria, away from the crowd as possible - though, it wasn't too far away, as there were quite a lot of students. It was an empty table, thank goodness, and he could sit there in peace... alone. Danny unpacked his lunch, which consisted of a sandwich, an apple, and some water, and began to eat.
