((Continued from Tori's story.)) Batari went up to her room to change, opening her closet and suddenly feeling like nothing was suitable. She looked through a couple times before finally settling on a long shirt with black leggings, grabbing her purse off the back of her door and going into the bathroom, checking her hair. She decided to put it up in a messy but cute bun, and then washed her face really quick, deciding to go natural. After all, there was nothing that necessarily said this was a date, she shouldn't dress up too much. She went back downstairs and pulled on some warm boots making sure everything was smooth and looked nice before she opened the door, smiling at Eric. "Sorry it took so long, are you ready?" She asked him.

Eric stood back on the porch, looking out toward the street. He still couldn't believe he was here, waiting for Batari to get ready for their.....was this a date? He didn't know. He figured he would find that out later. When Batari reopened the door letting herself out, Eric turned around and couldn't help but check her out head to toe. Whoa... he's never realized until now, how pretty Batari was. He was glad he was here with her now. Really glad. "Oh. Um, its alright. It's cool." he said, snapping himself out of his trance. He picked up his skateboard and led her off the porch and onto the sidewalk. "Um, you don't mind if we stop by my house, do you? I, uh, don't really feel like carrying my skateboard everywhere.." he shrugged.

Batari giggled and nodded an okay. After a couple more moments of silence, she playful nudged him with her shoulder, "You never taught me how to surf." She scolded him cutely, "I've been learning on my own."

After a moment of silence, and hearing what Batari told him playfully, Eric let out a soft chuckle, looking down at the ground before glancing back to her eyes. "Well, that's your fault." he teased back with a playful nudge of his own, "You should of texted me when and where you wanted to meet me for lessons." he laughed again, glancing back at their feet.

Batari chuckled. "I suppose it's both our faults. We'll just say we both got busy." She argued playfully, glancing at him quickly before looking to the ground. "So then after we drop off your skateboard, we are we going?" She asked him. She stuck out her tongue playfully. "Or did you not think about that yet?"

"Yeah, guess we could say that." Eric chuckled, continuing to joke along with her, though his eyes remained at the ground. That is, until Batari brought up another question to her. He looked up with a wider grin, snickering silently to himself. "No...I mean, I thought up of somewhere to go." He looked down a moment to kick a rock before looking back up again. "How does burgers and fries sound? At the Diner?"

Batari smiled widely, it had been a while since she had eaten at the Diner, and now she was looking forward to it. "It sounds delicious!" She replied enthusiastically.

Eric's smile was more of a smirk. He was still getting used to this whole date thing, considering he's never been on one(if you could call this a date). "Glad to see you're excited." he chuckled lightly, glancing back at the ground, not exactly used to giving eye contact. Much less to a girl...much less to a girl he found attractive.

Batari smiled, nodding slightly. She noticed his awkwardness, which only made her question more if it was intended to be a date. She wasn't oblivious to what today was, after all. And though she wanted to be mad at Eric for not even giving her warning to dress up more, she got the feeling if she did have a warning text, she would have over thought it and dressed up too much. Looking at Eric again, she got the feeling he hadn't really even planned to visit her in the first place.

The walk to his house seemed a lot longer than it really was. Probably because of the sudden awkward silence they had going between them. When they did make it in front of his house though, he led her up to the front door, but stopped her just before going in. "Um..I'll be right back." he simply said, before entering the house which soon filled with barking dogs. Once he dodged through his hyper dogs, grabbed his wallet and tossed his skateboard in his room, he made a quick pit stop in the bathroom to check his hair just to make sure it wasn't too much of a mess. He patted the few strands of hair which were standing up, down, and headed back outside careful to avoid his mother and younger siblings. "Hey, sorry it took so long. You ready?" he said, shutting the door tight behind him, and led her back to the sidewalk towards town.

Batari waited patiently outside and then nodded and gave him a smile. "Yup." She said, noticing he had fixed his hair. As they began walking, she debated asking him if this was a date, but decided against it, biting her lip instead. Her mind was torn Why wouldn't it be a date? It's Valentine's Day! a part of her said, but another part said differently, You barely know the guy, why would he ask you on a date? She let out a frustrated breath, "So how've you been lately?" She asked, feeling like it was a foolish question to ask.

Another awkward silence passed while they started walking again, and Eric was starting to wonder if this was a good idea after all. I knew I should of thought it through more...or at least warned her about it, damn it! He kicked another rock that was in their path when Batari spoke up. He perked his head up to meet hers, and gave a little shrug. "Meh, not much really. Just the usual, ya know? Skating, video games...school." Letting my sister pressure me into getting a girlfriend. "How about you?"

Batari nodded, "Pretty much something similar. Homework, hanging out with the younger kids in my family... teaching myself how to surf." She said, once again making it clear she was just teasing him about it.

Eric just nodded, giving out louder chuckles at the last part she joked about. "Hey, its not like I haven't had time to surf, myself. Freakin' house arrest most of the time with chores and homework." he told her, scrunching up his face in his own teasing way. "You're lucky you even got in the water." he laughed.

Batari laughed, "I guess. There's a lot of pressure in my own since my cousin came, though. He gets crazy good grades. Like, I think his GPA for last semester was a 4.2." She explained, rolling her eyes. Not that she didn't like having HyunSu living with them, but it gave her parents something to compare her (good) grades with.
