Georgiana sighed with relief when she found the only vacant table left in the lunchroom. She put down her lunch, something she had made herself since she would never live it down if she bought cafeteria food. Yes that made her sound like a snob but then she was a snob with home-made croissants filled with ham and cheese and chocolate eclairs. She had bought a can of root beer and she absently opened it, taking a sip as she ran her free hand through her long hair. She wasn't usually seen at lunch times in school since she went out with her boyfriend, Sean, most of the time. However, the surly boy had been busy with his music and she had begged him to stay put so she wouldn't disturb. Yume had borrowed her car to go somewhere with Jack and she was pretty sure Aya was hanging out with Dan somewhere. All her relatives who were still in highschool were at the moment missing in action so all she could do was sigh softly and take a croissant, biting into the flaky pastry as she did so.

Liesl walked through the cafeteria doors from the hall that lead to her last class, lunch bag in hand, stomach protruding in front of her. She glanced around the lunch room all tables were occupied as normal, however, her eyes landed on her usually empty table and she frowned. There was someone sitting in her seat at the table she usually occupied alone and experience told her that approaching this girl and asking to sit with her would get her a dirty look and an abrupt no. She scanned the room again, meeting the eyes of a number of people who regularly gave her dirty looks for her condition. A few of them glanced toward her regular table and turned back around with smug looks on their faces. She usually didn't care what other people thought, but she was hungry, she wanted to sit, eat her salad, listen to music on her iPod and this girl was hindering that. She gritted her teeth and started to the table, setting her lunch bag on the table and giving the girl a long hard look. "Not trying to be rude or anything, but this is my table, it doesn't have my name physically engraved on it, but it's an unspoken law that this is the knocked up girl's table and all other's should just avoid it and her, meaning me, altogether lest my predicament somehow rub off on you. I'd say I'm surprised no one warned you, but then again..." She chuckled. "I suppose they just find it quite amusing that you've taken this from me too."

The unfamiliar voice called out to her and Georgie stopped, croissant in hand. She had noticed the girl before and thought she was beautiful even if she did have a baby bump. “I’m pretty sure getting pregnant can’t be caught by sitting next to a pregnant chick. There’s room here for the both of us you know, it’s not a big deal.” The girl sounded like a bitch but from the haughty looks people were giving the girl from around the room, she knew why she was so defensive and felt for her. She grinned at the girl. “If you sit with me, I’ll share some of my food and I know for a fact that these croissants and éclairs are good because I made them myself.” Georgie thoughtfully sipped at her root beer and waited for the girl to sit down. She wasn’t budging but she was also not going to hog the space on the table just because the girl had made a mistake. “I’m Georgie and yes I know I sound incredibly forward but how far along are you?”

Liesl was caught by surprise by the girl's statement and offer to sit with her, it took her a moment to even react. She softened a bit and sat down beside the girl, declining the offered food though. She glanced over her shoulder at the girls who'd given her the most grief and the smug looks. She returned the look and opened her lunch bag, taking out a salad and a yogurt. "Surprising that there are still decent people around." It was her way of giving a compliment. She opened her salad, retrieved her fork and dug into her undressed salad. "I would think in the twenty first century people would get over the scarlet letter crap." She popped a cherry tomato in her mouth. "I'm Liesl by the way and believe me I prefer people to be forward with me. I don't find all this bullshit running around, sitting behind my back making faces and calling me names amusing or attractive." She chuckled, though she didn't sound amused. "I guess it's just wasted energy that these idiots put so much effort into trying to bother me huh?" She appeared to be not bothered but you could see just below the surface that it did. "Five months on the twenty-sixth of March."

Georgie shrugged as she took another bite of her croissant, chewing thoughtfully and taking a sip of her root beer before replying. "Well I dunno if you can consider me a decent person. I just don't judge people because that's totally uncool." She offered her a smile and watched her eat the salad as she finished her croissant. "Nice to meet you Liesl. And they should be used to it but when will people ever stop putting down other people to make themselves feel good? I think it's stupid though because in the end, they won't feel good. Making another person feel bad will just add to their guilt and make them realize how dumb they are because even after they have tried to make you feel bad... You still continue to stand." Georgie paused and shrugged. "Pretty brave of you, in my opinion... So I don't think you should be bothered by them. They're ignorant." Georgie smiled as she broke up one eclair, smiling as it revealed the sweetened cream in the center. She handed one part to Liesl even if she had declined the offer. "Chocolate has endorphins. Endorphins make people happy. I think you need some happy right now. Did you get sick a lot?"

Liesl took the eclair half from Georgie and took a small bite, practically melting in her chair. "My mom finds out about this." She held what was left of the eclair up. "She'll hunt you down." She took another bite, practically savoring it. "Damn you made this?" She shook her head at her question. "No, nothing too bad. I got sick before I shared the news with my mom, but that might have been nerves and not this little guy."

Georgiana laughed as she bit into her eclair and smiled, glad that at least her baking had helped someone. "Oh she's welcome to try, I can just bribe her with more sweets." She waggled her eyebrows playfully. "Yup; I'm going to own a patisserie someday, so I might as well start practicing now." She grinned before taking a sip of her root beer. "Oh that's good for you; I hear a lot of pregnant women have it real bad. My aunt's friend had the worst time. She'd wake up and she'd have to run to the bathroom just as soon as she sat up." She shook her head as she took another bite of the pastry. "So you know if it's a girl or boy?" Georgie smiled a bit. "You excited?"

"She'd put up a fight, but my mom loves sweets, she just doesn't want me eating anything that'll be detrimental to the baby or habit forming." She finished off the eclair. "And these dear, are habit forming, I could eat two half dozens of these and still want more." She stirred her salad in the bowl and made a disgusted face. "I like vegetables, I even like vegetables without dressing, but if you knew me before I got pregnant you'd know that I'm a burger-a-holic and I eat like food is going out of style. Yeah, I wanted to know. My mom thought I should go the old fashioned route and not learn the sex until they placed him on my chest, but I couldn't resist. Brody didn't want to know either, but I'm glad I know it's a boy. Yeah, I'm excited." She shrugged and put another tomato in her mouth. "Though, honestly...." She looked at Georgiana and then over her shoulder at the girls behind her. "I'm sure I'd be more excited if I had someone to get excited with, my mom is so focused on all the healthy aspects, but she's just worried we might just have complications because I'm so young, so thin, so small. And Brody just..." She looked away and checked her emotions. "He's trying to make things work with this girl named Kylie and he's going to be there for the baby, but it's hard to get excited with him because we argue so much."

Georgie chuckled. "Well I'm pretty sure the doctor would say that eating eclairs aren't a bad thing just as long as you control yourself and don't eat the entire dozen in one sitting." She laughed at the disgusted face Liesl pulled. "You know, you have to eat properly... Filling stuff, not just healthy stuff. You're eating for two now and you have to make sure that both you and your baby are full." She shrugged absently. "My aunt was a nurse before she decided to take up photography. She rambles a lot about things like that." She smiled and lightly tugged at one of her curls. "Must be tough huh? I know we only just met but you have me to be excited with so you should cheer up." She quirked a brow curiously. "Brody? Brody Arthur is the father?" Georgie shook her head and smiled, remembering how she had met the boy once with Jade. "I know his older sister, Jade. And his older brother, Dan, is my cousin Aya's sort-of-boyfriend." She laughed softly. "Small town." She frowned when she heard about how he was chasing after some other girl. "Huh... He's not sticking with you? That Kylie must be a real head-turner if he's not going after a hot chick like you." Georgie gasped and put her hand to her mouth, laughing sheepishly. "I'm sorry... I live with a lot of guys and their man-speak rubs off on you."

Liesl smiled. "Oh, I know I had a massively large breakfast all healthy but bone sticking stuff. My mom isn't going to let me starve but she's cut way down on the grease, fat, and sugar." She picked up her yogurt, 'Fage' 0% with honey. "This is my mom's idea of sweet. I'm almost tempted to just eat the honey and skip the yogurt, but I know he needs the calcium and protein." She made a face, yogurt wasn't her favorite. "Yeah Brody Arthur. Not many people know that detail but I'm sure if they knew the guy who knocked me up wasn't even my boyfriend the razzing and name calling would be twice as bad." She rolled her eyes. "He's not denying it's his though, he's gone to the appointments with me and all but it still sucks that he doesn't want to see if things would work out between us before trying to pursue Princess Kylie Howard." She finished off her salad and started on her yogurt. "I honestly don't expect you to take this past this table, so unless you want to I'm still finding little to get excited about."
"I'm sorry I'm having a hard time trusting people. First Brody, then the other day those girls behind me came and sat at the table they asked their 'How far along are you?' questions and then they were complete assholes in the hall afterward. You seem legitimate but I just don't know." She smiled at Georgie's compliment and looked away. "Kylie is more attractive though, she's just got it all going for her, looks, personality, vulnerability, virginity..."

Georgie laughed again, amused at her complaints. "Have you had any weird cravings?" She rolled her eyes with Liesl and shook her head. "They don't understand just how hard all the things you're going through must be. Hell, I have no idea what it must feel but I sympathize. I hate judgmental people and they don't even know you... Definitely means that they have no right to judge." She smiled a bit sadly. "I'm sorry that sounds really terrible... I don't understand what she has that you don't... You're a nice girl from what I've seen in the half hour that we've been here." Georgie shook her head. "And I'm definitely not the type of person to talk you up at the table then leave you hanging." She winked confidently "You have yourself a friend in me, whether you like it or not Liesl."

Liesl shook her head. "No, nothing too out of the ordinary. Like I would love a burger and I actually got Brody to buy me one before I found out the baby's gender, but I told him I wasn't hungry when it arrived, just because I was mad at him." She made a face. "I shouldn't have done that, but it felt like the only way I could insult him." She rolled her eyes. "Wouldn't you think once someone screws you over again and again you'd just stop liking the guy?" She paused for a second. "I'd like nothing more than to walk up to Kylie and tell her she can have him, but it'd just break my heart, I'm too invested..." She paused again. "I think that's the word I'm looking for, anyway, I'm glad I have at least one friend. I'm not the easiest to approach and I don't do a lot of approaching myself, get's me into trouble." She ran a hand over her belly and laughed.

She laughed and made a face. "Good for you; my mom refused to eat anything but pickles when she was pregnant with me." Georgiana shrugged helplessly and smiled, remembering her own boyfriend, someone she had never expected to be with but still loved with a shameless abandon. "When do we ever have a choice in who we love and who we don't? No matter how much we hope to be stronger, our heart will always do what it wants... Always. It's sad sometimes, especially when you may end up alone, but at the same time, it makes us appreciate life a lot more." Georgie finished her root beer and grinned at Liesl. "Don't worry, tell me who and I'll beat them with a stick."

Liesl laughed. "Oh well, you could beat Kylie Howard with a stick." She paused and shook her head a smile on her features. "I'm kidding, the girl hasn't said a single word to me and the only thing she's done to me is attract the father of my baby." She shook her head, the smile gone. "That's not exactly grounds for a stick beating is it? You could beat me for letting it happen. I mean if I'd just saved his stupid number in my phone I would have been in contact with him sooner and she never would have had a chance." She went quiet and looked away as if she were in a deep thought.
"He told me he loved me." It was practically a whisper when she said it. "He'd been trying to get his point across about something and he said it and then he tried to reverse and say he just liked me, but I could tell." She pushed her empty yogurt container away and reclined in her chair. "I could tell even through a text message that he meant Love and he's just causing a bunch of heartache." She wanted to scream. "Georgie, why are guys so fucked up? The stupid girl better be living it up now because if things 'work out' between them, he's going to be doing the exact same thing he said he didn't want to do to me to her." She crossed her arms and shook her head. She looked at Georgie to explain. "He told me he doesn't want to break it off with Kylie because he doesn't want to be with me and then always wonder what it would have been like if he'd been with her. That bullshit. He could have just ditched her and I would have made him forget she even existed. Kylie can't pull that off, she's too...." She took a deep, frustrated breath in and let it out. She was becoming frustrated with the entire situation again and she just needed to stop talking about him, them.
"I hope the little guy has Brody's blonde hair and my green eyes, but I don't usually get what I want, the way I want it. So, uh, do you have a boyfriend? Is he good to you? Because for as much as you've done for me today, I'd take a stick to him if he was being an ass to you." She smiled, a legitimate smile.

Georgie shook her head and smiled sadly. "They're not all that bad... They're just as lost as any girl; the problem is they don't know what to do with their emotions. They think crying is for the weak and that telling the truth will make them less masculine when in all honesty, it'd probably fix everything." She lightly patted Liesl's hand. "He'll be a handsome boy and I'm pretty sure he'll be breaking hearts in no time.", Georgie laughed. "Yeah I have a boyfriend; his name's Sean... We've been together for a while now and please don't beat him up because he gets enough of that from me.", she paused and looked out at the cafeteria before opening her mouth to speak again, "I think Sean and I are the prime example to unexpected. Neither of us ever expected to have a relationship. I thought he was too boring. And he thought I was too loud. But here we are... 2 years into a relationship and going strong." She shrugged again and glanced at Liesl. "If you and Brody were meant to be, then it's going to happen Liesl. And if not? You heart's going to break and it's going to be a mess for a while but I can see that you're a strong girl and you're going to rise above it all and you'll find someone perfect for you."
