Andrew's frown grew more defined, and he kept his arms crossed. "I don't remember ever being conditioned as thinking of people younger than me as lowly." He glanced at her, shaking his head. "I don't agree with that at all but," He sighed and stopped walking. "if you don't want to talk to me because you believe I'm supposed to hate you then I won't try to be your friend anymore. But what happens when you're the eighth grader? Are you gonna think of sixth graders as lowly?"

Chynna sighed and finally gave in. Everything he was saying was starting to make more sense than anything she or her sister had come up with. "I'm sorry," she said. "I'm new in town and I'm trapped in a house full of teenagers. They're nice sometimes, but I feel so lost. My old school was different. We didn't have to share it with the high school kids like we do now." She turned to him with an apologetic look. "And I'm sorry about the whole stereotyping thing too. My sister gave me some bad advice. Then again, she hates everybody, so I really shouldn't be too surprised." She chuckled lightly and shook her head. "Anyways, I'd like to be friends, if you want."

"I understand." Andrew smiled. "My house is the same way, full of way older kids." He laughed at her next comment, waving her off with a shake of his head. "It's alright, I understand completely where you're coming from." He grinned. "I'd love to be friends, I don't have very many." Andrew ran a hand through his hair with a small laugh.

Chynna smiled and held out her hand in a show of truce. "Yeah, I have nine older siblings, a twin brother, and two younger siblings. My twin brother lives with my dad and my younger siblings are four and two, so I'm pretty much the odd girl out." She nodded her head in agreement at his having no friends comment. Back home, she'd had very few friends herself. Most of her social interactions consisted of her cousins and kids whose parents were friends with her mom. "So, how long have you lived here?"

Andrew laughed, shaking his head. "I have 16 older siblings, a twin, a younger sister and 5 nieces and nephews." He laughed again, running a hand through his hair. "There's a lot of us. I know exactly how you feel." He frowned a bit at her next question. "Uh, only a few months. Maybe two or so? I'm not entirely sure. How about you?"

Chynna gasped as he explained how many relatives he had. Having lived in Mabtown for most of her life, she was accustomed to large family sizes. In fact, her own was considerably large by most standards, but sixteen siblings still seemed like a lot to her. "We've been here for about six months," she said, surprised that he was a new kid as well. "Our house got hit by a hurricane, so we moved all the way from Mabtown. Where are you from?"

Andrew laughed a bit when she gasped, he was used to that reaction. "Yeah, my mom was...obsessed...with adopting kids." He grinned. "I'm from MABTown as well. We were in Michigan when the hurricane hit though. Nobody was hurt, thank goodness, but we lost pretty much everything." He ran a hand through his hair again. "I wonder why we've never met?"

"Yeah, my mom's obsessed with taking kids in too," Chynna said, nodding in agreement. "It's a good thing too because otherwise my brother and I would still be separated and living in orphanages." She blushed a bit at having revealed that she was adopted. It was something that she never really discussed, although it was blatantly obvious whenever her and her mother walked into a room together. "Yeah, I wonder why we've never met either. I guess we didn't live that close to each other or something."

"Same here, except me and my twin were in the same orphanage. I do have a brother and sister who are twins who were separated at birth, and adopted at different times. It was crazy when we found out they were twins." He grinned and shook his head. "I'm glad I was adopted though. The orphanage wasn't the best place to be." He sighed at the memory. "Maybe. MABTown wasn't a very big place though."

"Wow, really? My brother and I were separated at birth too," Chynna said, gasping in surprise. "Our biological mother pretty much abandoned us right after we were born. I got adopted before I turned two, so I really don't remember any of it, except for what my mom told me. She said that the orphanage had informed her that I had a twin brother, but they were unable to locate him. She felt really bad that I was going to go to a good home and he wasn't, so she tracked him down a little while later and she adopted him as well." She smiled and nodded at the description of Mabtown. "Yeah, it was pretty small. When I was a kid, it always seemed so big to me."

"I don't know what happened to my parents. Too young to remember. All I know is the orphanage wasn't the nicest of places and I'm glad I got out of there." He shrugged and then smiled. "It did seem like that when I was a kid. Then again, everything seems big to a kid." He ran a hand through his hair and sighed, glancing at a clock. "My mom will probably be here soon." His face fell, but then he smiled again and turned back to Chynna. "Do you think maybe we could hang out a little later? Like, at the park or something?"

Chynna had been so caught up in talking to him that she had completely lost track of the time. "Yeah, I should go too," she said, clutching her heavy backpack to her. "I have a bit of a walk ahead of me. I'd definitely love to hang out later though." She hadn't really gone out and explored since the move. Due to the overwhelming population of teenagers, she felt like such a little kid among the rest of the town.

"Where do you live?" Andrew asked. "Maybe I could walk you home and give you my number then? Then we could make plans to meet up after." He smiled, running a hand through his hair again. He was glad that she wanted to hang out with him.

"I live over on Seaview," Chynna said, smiling back at him. "And don't worry about walking me home, I can figure it out myself pretty much. Plus, I don't want to get you in trouble with your mom or anything, since she's out there waiting for you." She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. "So where do you want to meet at?"

"Oh right. Forgot." Andrew chuckled, running a hand through his hair. "I don't think she'd mind but it's probably best not to keep her waiting." He thought for a moment, catching sight of his twin diving for the door from the corner of his eye. She was probably trying to make it out of the school before someone got the chance to talk to her. "How about the park? We can figure out where to go from there if you'd like."
