"Te lo juro, si este tipo no se presenta en cinco minutos ... me voy."(I swear, if this guy doesn't show up in five minutes...I'm leaving.) grumbled sixteen year old Alex as she stumbled into the library, claiming her spot at a table by slamming her bag and books down on top and plopping down in the seat. She lowered herself deeper in her seat, as if she didn't want to be seen at the library. Not even a minute later, Alex started scrummaging through her messenger bag, pulling out a pair of earbuds and her iPod to tune out the rest of the world. At least until her tutor showed up anyway.

Angel sighed as she saw her student. "Well," she began with a sigh, "aquí vamos (Here we go)... hola trabajo número 2 (Hello job #2)..." She said. She had just been offered the chance to get a job with the local high school from a coworker, and with rent prices being so high, she was going to have to start working two jobs. You would think working at an airport would be enough... She thought grumpily, simply sitting down at the same table as her new student. She waited until the headphones were off the younger girl's ears before continuing, "Sorry I'm a little late. You're... Alexandria, right?"

Alex had her eyes shut during one of the songs playing in her ears. What made her head perk up however, was the sudden movement in the table from someone else setting their things on top. She took out a single earbud to have a listen to what this guy--er, girl---person had to say. She couldn't exactly tell if this was a guy that was tutoring her or if it was a girl. They dressed feminine like, but they also seemed to have a touch of masculine in them too. Then almost immediately, Alex cringed at her full name being announced. "Excuse me?" she scoffed, flicking off her other earbud, stuffing the pair back in her bag along with her iPod. "Look, I don't know who this Alexandria is...but I sure as hell ain't her." she said as a matter of fact, with her Spanish accent coming out so strongly. She gave this person a good hard look before continuing on, a little more softer than before. "I go by Alex. And I strongly recommend that you do not call me by my real name." she paused, "I'm not too fond of it." she finished rather simply, crossing her arms over her chest. "So. What are we gonna work on today, teach?"

"Okay, okay," Angel said simply, holding her up defensively. "How am I supposed to know if you have a nickname?" She asked, her Hispanic accent peeking through as she spoke quickly. "Um... it says on here you need to work on... English and Math." She frowned as she looked at Alex's information, What is this? Do I look like I'm good at either of those? She wondered to herself.

"Just something for you to remember." Alex added in, her arms still crossed as well as leaned back in her chair. "English and Math it is then." she said dully, not moving from her position, her eyes already halfway closed as if ready to fall asleep as soon as she began the session. "So...teach. Make me smart, or something.." she perked in, her accent kicking in again, while giving the slightest smirk on the corner of her lips.

Angel smirked, "Parece que va a ser fácil de enseñar (You seem like you'll be easy to teach)..." She said sarcastically. "Did you bring your books?" She asked Alex.

Alex winced her head up unexpectedly at the familiar language she started to speak. Her eyebrows furrowed curiously, she responded back in just as a sarcastic tone as she had spoke, "No eres la primera persona en decir eso.(You're not the first person to say that.)" Just to see if she really did know her language as well as she thought she did, and not just because she took some Spanish class Alex thought was a waste of time in America. "Yeah, I brought my books." she said in another dry tone of hers, sliding over two books from her side of the table over to her new tutor.

"que hablan español bastante bien ... ¿Nació usted en un país de habla española? (You speak Spanish pretty well... Were you born in a Spanish speaking country?)" Angel asked, letting them get distracted to try and get to know this girl a little better. She brushed some hair out of her face, looking through the two books set on the table.

Alex raised an eyebrow at the sudden change of language. She decided to play along though, for now anyway. "No, tomé una clase de principiantes en español.(No, I took a beginners class.)" She huffed out sarcastically, rolling her eyes. "Por supuesto que nació en un país de habla española.(Of course I was born in a Spanish speaking country.)" she finished with a scoff. "Y voy a tomar una conjetura y decir que eran demasiado?(And I'm gonna take a wild guess and say you were too?)"

"No need to be rude." Angel said with a pout. "I am. And I'm sorry, I'm still pretty new so being paired with someone who speaks Spanish is just a little comforting." She replied, not seeming the least bit discouraged from Alex's rough attitude.

Alex let out another scoff at Angel's first reply, leaving her with a simple smirk after. "I'm sure you'll get used to it soon enough." she said flatly, "What's your name anyway? I mean, its not very fair that you know my name and all I get to call you is, teach."

"I'm Angel," She replied simply, figuring Alex wasn't the type to shake hands. She shut the text book she was looking at and smiled at Alex. "I don't see much wrong with us just getting to know each other today, do you?" She asked, sliding the books closer to Alex.

Alex kept her arms crossed, quite pleased that Angel didn't even attempt to shake hands with her. She was alright. Alex stared at her books sliding back towards her, then gazed back up to Angel. "Guess not." she replied, simply leaving the books where they were at, in front of her. "So...does this mean we can get done early today?" she asked, her tone sounding more anxious about getting out of there. It wasn't that she had somewhere to go, besides catching up with Loreto, but she did feel like she had to get a smoke in soon.

Angel nodded, "But not now. Don't look so anxious to get out of here." She told the younger girl, crossing her arms. "Honestly, I'm not that horrible, am I?" She murmured, frustrated.

Alex cursed softly under her breath. "Damn." Slumping back down in her chair again. She happened to catch on with what Angel mumbled herself, almost deciding to leave it be, but decided to let it out anyway. "I'm not too fond of meeting new people." she grumbled back, "I'm very....picky with who I hang out with...or even sit and have a conversation with.."
