Cybill walked along the pier with her hand on the railing. She had an unlit cigarette in her mouth, she didn't want to light it. She didn't really want to smell like smoke, but on the other hand, she wanted to fight the urge for nicotine. Maybe this way she could satisfy and trick her senses into thinking that they might get the drug they desired. She stopped and looked out at the open ocean, the only lights behind her being a lonely streetlamp that rested on the boardwalk, the carnival having shut down for the night.
She smiled out at the ocean, cigarette still on the corner of her lips. She wished she could fly across that ocean to Paris, maybe England. Somewhere far away. She loved her family, she didn't deny that, but it was all getting to be a little too much and she longed for something more. She sighed and flicked the gnawed on cigarette into the ocean. She knew it was a waste, but she refused to light up and it had been her last one. She stayed at the end of the pier and stared out through the dark night, wishing for something that she couldn't have.

Cybill jumped at the unfamiliar voice of a quite handsome boy who had seemed to appear out of thin air. She nodded at his words, "Uhm, yeah, well... I'm trying to cut back a little and that was my last one, so there's no more temptation," she said, making excuses, although now she wasn't sure why she'd wanted to cut back in the first place. She looked down into the dark water, "I kind of want it back now. Although in its original state before it hit the water. It wouldn't be of much use now..." She shrugged and looked back at the boy, wishing she had put more thought into her wardrobe now. Not that he cares. she thought, So why should I?

Cybill let out a light whimper as he dropped the rolled cigarette into the dark, churning water. She looked down again and swallowed, "Well there's no use in wasting your cigarettes..." she said, rubbing the back of her neck. "Just because I'm stupid doesn't mean you have to join me." She looked back at him. "Uhm, I'm Cybill," she said, not extending her hand. She didn't feel that it was necessary in this situation, and honestly, she'd never really understood the concept behind a handshake.

Cybill looked back at Ilan and licked her lips and shrugged, "Still, though..." She wasn't really sure what to stay in this situation. He looked over the rail and she continued to watch him, hoping he wasn't planning on jumping. She licked her lips and nodded at his name. "Cool," she replied in the same tone he had. She watched his face and furrowed her brow as he looked her over, "I'm seventeen," she replied. "What about you? Maybe eighteen? Or maybe not, you don't seem legal..."

Cybill smiled, "I mean, I don't know... You just seem... Shadowy and stuff..." She shrugged at her own answer. "Secretive, maybe." She looked back at him and thought about his question. "I guess that all depends," she started, "do you mean fun like, wrestling bears or fun like going to hockey games?" She smirked again, looking back out at the ocean. "But no, I mostly just feed fish cigarettes, it's kind of my thing... What about you Ilan?" she asked. "Do you do anything fun? What kind of name is that, anyway? Is it like Italian?"

Cybill looked at Ilan and smirked, "You want to know a secret?" she asked him, raising a brow. She searched his eyes for a moment, "And what makes you think I'm going to tell you one of my secrets? How do I know that you won't just find out my secret and then walk away without telling me yours?"
Cybill shrugged, "Me either. I like fights." She nodded as he answered the question about his names, "So then bear wrestling excitement. Yeah, I don't have any fun then," she said with a shrug, a light smile behind her lips. She looked back over at the boy and really smiled this time, "It sounds fun to me..."

Cybill looked at him through slitted eyes and laughed at his last statement, "That's not even a secret, that's like a stupid fact that only a stranger would tell you trying to pass it off as a life lesson," she said, shaking her head. "No, no if you want a secret from me you're going to have to try harder than that. I'm not as easy as girls that you're probably used to."
She smirked, "Yeah, because we can totally party. I mean, I'm never gonna see you again, right?" she asked defiantly. She shrugged and blushed at his last statement, "Yeah neither have I that's why I don't have any fun." She smirked at her own joke.

Cybill smiled lightly at his statement. She rolled her eyes playfully, "Okay, Mr. Deep Soul Expert, what's the meaning of life then?" she teased as she leaned against the rail of the boardwalk. She glanced at him as he offered her a cigarette from his car and slitted her eyes at him again, trying to size him up. Does he really want to share his cigarettes or will he just rape you? she thought. Come on, Cybill, where's your sense of adventure? She licked her lips. "Fine, you've convinced me, but it had better be a damn good cigarette," she said with a warning in her voice.
She laughed at his joke about the bear. "Okay, yeah because there's definitely tons of bears in the forest," she said, rolling her eyes playfully. "C'mon, Ilan, the zoo is so much less adventurous, and I'd take you for an adventurous type guy."

Cybill laughed out loud as he told her 'the meaning of live' and shook her head lightly, "Oh, that's the meaning of life, is it?" she asked. "I have been searching for nothing all along. I'm glad I met you, you've given me a whole different perspective in the search for my own soul." She laughed lightly again and smirked, "Oh, so you meant that kind of cigarette. Well I'm up for it if you're trying to scare me. Because I'm not scared one bit," she stated as if trying to convince more than just the boy beside her.
She started to follow him and rolled her eyes, "Okay, wait a minute, you said nothing about wrestling the bear at the zoo, you only said see the bear at the zoo. I think that is adventurous. She shrugged, "I mean, how many people can say that they snuck into the bear exhibit and tried to wrestle a bear. Well, they're probably all dead, so no one, but you get the idea."

Cybill rolled her eyes at him again, but followed anyway. She was amused and honestly enthralled by this boy, she couldn't figure him out. She licked her lips at his question and shook her head. "No, I take that back. Once, my friend's family smokes hookah and I went on a vacation with them and tried it, although I'm not sure if that counts..." She watched him as he got into the car and watched as he pulled the small bag out of his pocket. She swallowed and shrugged, she wasn't sure if she should do this. She'd really only ever smoked cigarettes before, but she didn't let it show on her face, "Only if it's free," she said calmly, a smirk on her pink lips, trying to look as if she were used to this.

Cybill watched as he expertly rolled her homemade cigarette and wondered how many times he'd done it before. She licked her lips as he handed it to her and took it without hesitation and pulled her lighter out to light her newest adventure, hoping that she wouldn't regret it later. As it lit she took in the smoke and it didn't feel much different, although the taste was very far from her norm. She raised a brow at him and pulled the cigarette from her pink lips, "So, Ilan, do you want to just chill here then?" she asked casually.

Cybill nodded and licked her lips. She swallowed, swearing at herself in her mind, Damn it, Cybill this is the stupidest thing you've ever done and now you're going to an even less open space than this! She shook the thought from her mind as she took another drag from her cigarette and after driving for just a bit she was starting to feel a little bit hazy, the way she figured his car would feel if it had feelings. She took another hit, trying to calm herself down, but that wouldn't help, she should have known. She jumped just a bit at his question, but nodded, "Yeah. I mean... I guess so. I've only lived here for about two years. What about you? You're new, right?"

Cybill stared at him for a moment thinking about his question, "No, not really..." She licked her lips. "I don't know if you could tell or not, but I usually only smoke cigarettes," she said lightly, thinking that she had done a pretty good job of covering her tracks, but now she was second guessing herself. She thought for a moment more and shook her head, "No, wait... my older brother has a friend who smokes... I don't know where he gets it, but I could give you his number... His name is Seth..." She hadn't noticed the tone in his voice, actually she wasn't really paying attention to him, because she just noticed that there was a moth on the window, which was something she normally would take for granted or not care about, but right now it seemed extremely interesting. She let out a light giggle as she touched the opposite side of the window and it flew away before she looked back at Ilan. "What were we talking about?"

Cybill looked at him for a second, forgetting what they were originally talking about. But with his question she blushed, but smiled and nodded, letting out another giggle. "Yeah," she said. "You can tell? I kind of hoped you wouldn't notice..." She took another drag from her cigarette. "I like the flavor too. Waaaay better."

Cybill giggled as he popped a u-ee in the middle of the street, holding on to the door as he did. She shook her head and took another drag, doing exactly what he told her to do, leaning her head back against the headrest, doing exactly what he told her too, enjoyed herself. She let the smoke escape from her lungs slowly, looking up at the ceiling and watching it. She giggled lightly again. "I've never really watched the smoke before..."
As they reached the store and he went inside she stayed in the same position and continued to watch the fog blow around the car, adding more fumes with every drag. She looked at him when he got back and took the shaved ice in the opposite hand as her cigarette. She glanced up with his words and then looked back at the cold snack before picking up the spoon and taking a bite. Her eyes went wide and she nodded, "Wow, that's super good. What do they put in this, crack?" she asked, obviously having lost her speech filter. She took another bite and smiled.
