Mumbling out a thanks, Aleta slowly sipped at her coke.
"My name is Aleta Sanchez." She said, not bothering to elaborate. After all, he only asked for her name, not her life story. She didn't like to talk about herself, she much preferred to hear about every one else.

Apollo grinned at her as he took another sip of his drink. "Nice to meet you Aleta Sanchez." He paused, expecting her to say more than just her name but he was sorely disappointed. He chuckled softly and glanced at her. "Why are you so glum? Don't tell me it's because you didn't get a drink?" If it was, he would have laughed. "So are you new to Riverside?" If she was new, then she had probably moved to the quaint town only recently since he had only been a resident of Riverside for less than a month and he had never seen her around before.

Aleta shook her head at the question he asked first.
"No, I'm not glum. Though I'm sure that word is dead." She said with a playful smile. The only person she ever heard say "glum" was her brother but he never said anything normal.
"And yeah, I' moved here maybe three weeks ago. What about you? How long have you lived in this place? Or are you just visiting?" She asked, trying to turn the conversation away from her.

Apollo chuckled as he took a sip of his drink. "The only reason words die is because people forget to use them in their daily vocabulary; I'm not one for death." He grinned back at her and shook his head at the numerous questions she suddenly threw at him. "Hey, hey... One question at a time if you please. I've lived here for probably a month or less; I'm not really sure. And I moved here with my siblings so we could stay close to my aunt. What about you? I know you have a brother, but do you live with family?" He was a give and take type of person; Apollo never did like one-sided conversations and was trying to level the playing field between him and the beautiful Aleta.

Aleta nodded at the question, thinking of what to say. She never really liked talking about her home life. Not that it was bad but because it was boring.
"Yeah, I live with my mom and two brothers. I'm not in school and I don't work so I'm kind of stuck there. What about you? Are you in school?" She asked, hoping this time the conversation would deter from her.

Apollo quirked a brow at her curiously. "Yeah, I'm a student at the local University; I'm taking up History, doesn't that sound incredibly boring?" Apollo chuckled softly as he met her gaze. He had a feeling she was just about his age or maybe younger and the fact that she didn't work or go to school made Pol even curiouser about his company. He took another sip of his drink, clearing his throat before asking her his question. "So why aren't you in school? Or working? Doesn't that get a bit boring? Staying home everyday?" It would have bored him to death; it was one reason why he liked school. It made sure that his life wasn't filled with monotony.

"I'm searching for a job so I can get through school on my own. I don't want to rely on my mom, ya know? She already has it tough trying to keep us comfortable. Why add a my tuition on top of all that?" Aleta told him. "Now my life aside, I want to hear about you. What got you into history?" She finished with a charming smile. If The guy couldn't catch the subtle hints, then she was going for a more direct approach.

Apollo grinned, he had to give it to the girl. At least Aleta was trying to take some responsibility and that made him even curiouser about the girl. Everything she said was different from the things he was expecting and it was a good thing for him. "Well I totally understand that. It's pretty good of you to do that actually. So what jobs are you looking for?" He thought about her question and grinned at her as he leaned back in his seat and folded his arms over his chest. "You know, I could hear all about you and not get tired of it; I'll trade you. Question for a question." She had told him about her trying to get a job so he thought it would be fair enough to answer her question about his love for the past. "I'm not sure, to be honest. All I remember was that I was in the 5th grade, I picked up a history book... It was about the French Revolution... And I couldn't get enough of it." He smiled, a somewhat sleepy smile that on other people would have made them look silly; on Apollo, it made him look sexy... Not that he noticed. "I like reading about the past, learning from the mistakes of others, so I can try to prevent doing the same things... Repeating the past, you know?"

Aleta shrugged to the question for question deal. It seemed only fair so why not go along with it? When Apollo answered her question about his interest in history, she could help but think it was cute. She had a thing for men with substance, not that she ever went out with men like that. She always seemed to end up with guys who were tools and wanted nothing more than to use her.
"That's kind of cute, I mean doing something for a reason." She said, voicing her thoughts. "Now, to answer your question, I want to get a job in retail to start but I want to open a novelty shop. It might sound dorky but I love things like antique toys and gag gifts. So why did you look so...not chipper before I was here?" She wanted to know. She hoped it was the same reason he was alone too. It was weird for some one to come to a club in a bad mood. Usually people like that went to just plain bars.

Apollo winked at her and grinned. "Glad to know that you think I'm cute." He fell quiet at her answer, his mouth curving into a smile as he took a sip of his drink. "Naah, I think dorky suits you... It makes you a lot cuter than you already are." He didn't mind telling her his thoughts, even if it could lead to an embarrassing situation later on. For some odd reason, Pol felt that he could trust Aleta Sanchez. He paused and looked at the table as he thought about how to answer her question; she really didn't beat around the bush and though that was a rare quality that he appreciated in people, it threw him for a loop. "Well... What would you do if you were forced to keep a secret from someone you loved to keep them safe? And that person knew you were hiding something from them and the fact that something is hidden between the two of you is just messing everything up?" He chuckled softly and rubbed the back of his neck. "Sorry, that didn't really answer your question did it?"

Aleta shook her head. "No, it really didn't but it seems like the answer is not something that I should know anyways. I guess that if it's keeping them safe, then you should keep it but if it involves lying or if you yourself hurt that person, I'd tell. It could dome back and bite you on the butt if you try to hide it. Now not to be nosy, but I kind of want to know what the situation is. Did you cheat on your girl or something?" She inquired, scooting a little closer to show her interest.

Apollo laughed at her question and looked her in the eye, scooting closer to her just because he was tempted to kiss her again. "I don't cheat on girls; that's not my thing." He paused to take a sip and clear his throat as he took the brief moment to gather his thoughts and decide if he was willing to tell Aleta his problem. "My parents are getting a divorce and I'm the only one who knows... My sister, Mia, knows I'm keeping something from her and the rest of my sisters and we're fighting because of it... I just...", he stopped and sighed, "I don't want them to hurt because my parents are stupid."

Aleta nodded in understanding, she knew how it was when parents went through a divorce so she didn't blame Apollo for wanting to protect his siblings from that knowledge. If she could, she would have made it so that her younger brother never heard the fights and watch their parents fall apart.
"I understand how that feels. I guess the best you can do is keep acting like it's okay, ya know? I mean eventually they'll find out and it's better for your parents to tell them on their own time." She said, swirling her empty cup as if there was something in it.
