Marissa slowly wiped the gel from her stomach, mostly from shock of what they'd just learned. She was pregnant. Which meant that she was now responsible for another life. How could she raise a baby when she was barely raised herself? At Kavi's words, Marissa nodded slowly, turning worried eyes to him, despite him telling her not to worry. "W-we'll be okay?" She whispered, though it came out more of a question.

Kavi nodded, still rubbing her hand comfortingly. "We'll be fine, we'll figure it out." He assured her. He led her back out towards the nurse's station to get instructions on how to calm her morning sickness. After being handed a paper, he looked it over before handing it to Marissa. "How about... we head home, and I'll just make you something there." He offered.

Marissa clung to Kavi's hand as if it were her life line, taking the papers in her other hand. She nodded, relieved when they reached the car so she could sit back down. Her stomach wasn't bothering her too much anymore, but nerves had caused her body to start trembling, and it was hard for her to walk. "Kavi..." She whispered once they got into the car. A tear slid down her cheek as she confessed, "I'm scared. What if I can't be a good mom?"

Kavi got into the driver's side and paused starting the engine as Marissa asked him such a loaded question. "Mari... I... No one can know if they'll be a good parent." He smiled, but it seemed a bit bitter. "I don't know if I've been with Kyon until she grows up. It's kind of like... a surprise you know you have, but you won't know what it is until many years later. And... It's intimidating." He said, raising an eyebrow. "I'm not gonna lie. I'm scared, too. But we'll get through this, I promise you." He told her, placing a hand on her thigh. "Even if we need to get an extra job..." He began, but then thought of something. "Maybe you should invest in going back to school.." He suggested to her.

"S-school?" Mari paled. It would be bad enough going to a public school after being homeschooled for so long, but going there while being pregnant? Or even after having the baby? "I-I couldn't..." She started to protest, but trailed off, biting her lip and looking out the window instead. Marissa didn't want to seem selfish, after all she was just as responsible for this pregnancy. Still, the thought of going to school scared her just as much as having this baby did.

Kavi held up his hands as if she was threatening to attack him, "Okay, okay. We can discuss it." He told her. He started the car, biting his lip before looking to Marissa. "Look, we can start by talking with my parents... Which," he let out a small chuckle, and it was more nerves than him finding something funny, "I'm not too crazy about the idea either. But they can help us figure things out and we'll... We'll get through this." He promised her, shifting the car into reverse and pulling out of the parking spot. "Mom might be able to discuss alternate possibilities for school for you, too."
