Oliver poked his head inside the door to his father’s office after a succinct knock. “Jesus!” he exclaimed, stepping back and closing the door in his own face. “A little warning, please.” “A longer pause between knocking and just barging in, please,” Richard Urban replied gruffly as he wrenched the door open again. His wife, Sénia, Oliver’s stepmother, shifted her skirt back into place with one hand while rearranging the desk items that had been displaced. “Sorry Mom,” Oliver acknowledged Sénia and elbowed his dad in the ribs. “I’m just headed out to get some lunch before I headed home, and I wanted to see if you two were hungry. For something other than each other,” he added. “Oh, thanks for thinking of us hun, but we’re all good. In an effort to win us over, the last band we interviewed brought a pretty impressive spread,” Sénia replied. “Here,” Richard grabbed a flier off the desk, holding it out to Oliver. “New place, just opened a few blocks down. Why don’t you go check it out, let us know how it is.” Taking the piece of stock paper between his thumb and forefinger, Oliver regarded it warily. “Was this underneath you guys?” “Just go,” Richard ushered him toward the door, and Sénia waved goodbye. Smirking at the click of the lock in the door and his step-mom’s schoolgirl giggle, Oliver strode to the elevator, stopping first on the fifth floor recording studio to see if his sisters wanted anything. When he did finally reach the deli, he took a few moments to peruse their menu. Unable to make up his mind, he stepped off to the side to allow someone else to place an order.

Adrianna Wilson sighed softly as she set the last of her things in the storage facility. They were all neatly boxed and arranged as she had taken the time to come into the city, by herself, to sort out which things she would need to take back to Riverside from her apartment and which things she could leave behind. It had taken almost the entire morning but she felt very proud of her achievement and decided to treat herself to a sandwich from the new deli she had heard about from a friend who worked there. She shrugged on the jacket she had discarded earlier when she began working and adjusted the white ruche tube top that had been slipping downwards with each box she had carried into her space. When she was finally sure that she looked presentable, she picked up the black leather crossbody purse she had brought with her and the large paper bag that she had stuffed with belongings she had decided to bring to the new house she was staying at with her family. She locked the storage area she had started renting and shut off the lights before heading out and walking to the deli which was near by. While Andy was walking, she thought to herself of how strange it was to move back to live with her parents after a couple of years of independence. She had gotten herself the apartment when she was 19 and though they did support her financially at first, she had gotten a job and had been supporting herself for the past 2 years. Andy sighed softly, it definitely was strange but she knew she wouldn’t have liked living in the big apple by herself with no family to communicate with. Andy was close to finishing her studies and one of the biggest reasons she had decided to move with her family was the fact that she could solely concentrate on her studies with no impediments from working and from the constant nightlife she had become so accustomed to. In no time at all, Andy had reached the deli and stood in line as she thought about what to get. Her friend had recommended the grilled pastrami and she had decided to get a bottle of lemonade to go with it when the person in front of her stepped aside. Andy knew she didn’t have to but she turned to him and couldn’t help but check him out; he was cute. She bit her bottom lip as she turned to the counter when the person behind it greeted her and asked her what she wanted. “Oh, hey…”, she laughed softly, knowing she had been caught, “I’ll get a pastrami sandwich and a Minute Maid lemonade. Is Sam here?” The girl behind the counter shook her head at her question and told her that her friend was taking his day off before asking for $11.50 which she gave with a nice tip. She took the number from the girl and glanced back at the guy, giving him a tiny smile before looking for a seat.

Grilled pastrami, Oliver thought to himself, at least she’s one of those girls that actually eats, he grinned as he admired her from a few feet away. It pleased him to see her slightly embarrassed reaction to his catching her looking at him; she had an adorable smile. Pretending to look at the menu some more, he gazed out the corner of his eye as the girl selected a seat. Biting his lip, he delighted in what looked like an unconscious move on her part as she sat down – the readjustment of her top. (a) Finally realizing he couldn’t sit here all day trying to make up his mind, Oliver opted for the chicken salad sandwich, in hopes that it would be as good as the ones he had at Jason’s Deli in Vegas and in Phoenix, then chose a seat at the table next to the girl. “Hey,” he spoke quietly. “Have you been here before? You sounded pretty sure of yourself when you ordered, didn’t even look at the menu.”
a. - does that count as god-moding if she didn't do it there?

(( Lol. Yes it does. =P ))
Andy had grabbed her phone as soon as she was seated, checking the numerous text messages she had opted to ignore while she had been fixing her things at the storage place. She looked up, surprised when she saw the guy beside her and she smiled slowly. "Hey yourself." Andy shrugged as she turned her body so she could face him properly. "Yes I have actually; though it was more to support my friend than to eat. He works here so he usually tells me what to get. The pastrami sandwich was just one of the numerous in a list he's had me promised to try." She shrugged lightly and turned her smile on the handsome guy, offering her hand for a shake. "I'm Adrianna-- Andy for short." She had always had the habit of explaining her name since whenever she did try introducing herself as 'just Andy', people gave her a weird look for having a masculine sounding name. Even her little sister, Henrietta-- also known as Henri- had the same problem.

“Hello Andy,” he stretched his hand out to meet hers. “Oliver. Oliver Urban. I work a few blocks down the street, and we had a bunch of fliers in our lobby for this place. My father told me about it,” he glanced around. “It’s a nice place. So, what do you do, Andy? You look like you’ve had a busy day,” in the next split second, he thought about how that probably sounded, and spoke again quickly, “Not in a bad way or anything, you know, not like, oh wow you look rough, but, you look like you’ve got a million other things on your mind.”

Adrianna couldn't help the soft chuckle of amusement that escaped her lips as she shook his hand once before setting it back on her lap. "Nice save Oliver." She shook her head in amusement as she leaned back into her chair, absently tucking a stray lock of hair behind her ear before replying to his question. "Well, technically, I'm just a student; last year of Uni before I graduate actually." She smiled again, pleased with herself at making it far enough to actually graduate. She was close; she knew it and that just made her even happier.
Andy cleared her throat absently before glancing at her handsome companion. "What about you?", he looked old enough to have graduated but still be around her age. He was also dressed well which meant he either came from money or had enough to sustain himself and in style too.

"Thank you," shaking his head at himself, the corners of Oliver's mouth turned up as her laugh made him smile. "That's awesome. Let me be the first to congratulate you, even if I'm a little early. Graduating is definitely an amazing accomplishment," he thought back to his own graduation. It was a bit of a blur, as he as his friends had been passing a flask back and forth through the entire ceremony, and he smirked at the memory before answering her question. "I'm the senior accountant at my parents' company," he told her, and he tried to keep the pride out of his voice, "My dad actually let it slip that I might be offered a promotion soon, to accounting manager, but I might turn it down."

Adrianna laughed and received his congratulations with a gracious nod. "Thanks; yeah it means a lot to me. I'm not saying you can't get anywhere in this world without a degree but it certainly helps..." She paused when their orders arrived and she grinned at the server. Andy unwrapped a half of her sandwich and took a bite, chewing thoughtfully before adding, "Not to mention, I busted my fucking ass for my education." She glanced at Oliver, a bashful smile curved her full mouth before she opened her lemonade and took a sip.
After another bite and another sip (her eating pattern was set), she glanced at Oliver; her eyebrows raised in disbelief. "Oooh you fancy." She chuckled softly as she leaned back in her seat. "Why won't you take the promotion? You deserve it don't you? Besides, I'm sure tons of people would jump at the chance to get that job, am I right? Life doesn't offer too many second chances I'm afraid." Her lips curved into another knowing smile as she took another sip of her lemonade.

Studying his sandwich apprehensively, Oliver told a small piece off, checking out the filling before shoving it in his mouth. It wasn’t quite like Jason’s but it would suffice. He grinned at her enthusiasm and added, “There really is nothing like knowing you achieved something on your own. Personal payoff is something that a lot of people take for granted nowadays. I’d rather work my ass off and only get like some bronze medal than just have a gold one handed to me.” He tilted his head to the side. “It’s why I’m not sure if I’ll take this promotion. Number one, because part third of the reason I’m a senior accountant now is because it’s my parents company. I’m only twenty-six, it’s not like I’ve been doing this for years. There are guys on the team that have been doing this since before I was born. I’m certainly grateful to even be considered, and I know I’ve worked hard, but in my opinion, I’m still working to prove my worth as senior, not manager. “In addition to that, manager comes with the typical corner office and bossing other people around. You’re not really assigned to any one account, just following everyone else around to make sure they’re doing their work. If I stay where I am now, I keep my accounts, which includes my parents and my sisters.”

She nodded in agreement; Oliver had a point. It didn't feel the same when you knew your achievments were from your own hard work and not because your parents were famous or whatever. She finished half her sandwich and took a long swig of her lemonade before speaking.
"So one of the main reasons that you don't want to be promoted is to take care of your family? That's a pretty good reason." Andy paused and offered him a smile. "Well if you feel the promotion isn't good for you, then don't do it."

"Yeah, I'm going to tell my dad to look at someone else for it," he shook his head. "So tell me about you; what are you majoring in, what kinds of classes are you taking?" He tried to keep conversation relatively casual, didn't want her to notice he was staring at her lips as she ate and drank. Averting his eyes, his chastised himself for being such a guy.

[Sorry for the short posts; dumb character text limit on my phone. -_-"]
She grinned at him, giving Oliver a helpless shrug. "Well, maybe once you prove yourself your dad will offer you the promotion again and you might accept it next time, right?" Oliver didn't seem like the type of person to take anything that he knew he didn't deserve; unlike so many people that she had met. Andy laughed at his question and nodded. "Well, I'm majoring in Sociology and minoring in Psychology. I either want to be a guidance counselor or a therapist after that but I'm also thinking of taking graduate studies after this is all over." Andy nibbled on her bottom lip as she gave him a quick once over before smiling again. "What about you? What do you do aside from working at your father's company?"

"My step-mom majored in Sociology. I actually took a few Psych courses myself. I should have just gone ahead and minored in it, but I was two necessary classes short by the time I was ready to graduate, and I wasn't about to take another semester just for that," he shrugged. "Do you have a specialty area in mind, if you decide to become a therapist?" He gazed at her, thoughtfully: he always liked meeting people who had an interest in helping others. There was something different about her, and he was actually enjoying just talking to her.
He thought about what she'd asked him, and thought about how to best summarize his non-work activities. Womanizer was the first thing that came to mind. Not exactly the first thing he'd want to admit to her. The truth was, he didn't spend nearly as much time chasing women as he liked to let people believe. He definitely had his fun, but he was no Casanova. Choosing to rely on his family habits, he answered, "I, uh, I really just spend a lot of time with my sisters. Keeping them out of trouble. Sadly, it's still half work-related, but it's still fun."

[Lol. What a coincidence.]
She nodded in understanding, "Yeah that's a shame though... Well you can always take that last semester later on right? I mean if you really want to. I don't think it's very necessary in your line of work though." Andy smiled after finishing her lemonade, taking a deep breath as her cheeks flushed in embarrassment. She tucked a stray lock of hair behind her ear before meeting his gaze. "Um, I want to help people who are victims of abuse. I know that would be more of a social worker type thing but they need to find someone to talk to about how broken up they are inside right?"
She looked away; she wasn't ashamed of her choices but confessing things that seemed far to personal to her to people made her feel weak and vulnerable. And she hated feeling like that. Andy glanced at him when she felt a bit better and offered him a soft smile. She didn't hear too many brothers who made it a hobby of theirs to look after their sisters. That's new. She quirked a brow and laughed, a bit relieved at the sudden loss of tension. "Well that's not something you hear of very often. What do your sisters do? I mean, that get them into trouble..."
