Nick smiled lightly and shook his head lightly at her, "No way. You're just a different kind of fun. The perfect kind of fun for the person that this little guy has made me," he said with a soft chuckle before he looked up to her eyes. "Besides, the girls on The Bad Girls Club and Jersey Shore are sluts. Do you really want to be a slut?" He pushed her hair behind her ear and then looked back down at the baby. "I bet Gage will be happy that we mellowed out when he turns out right instead of a crack baby, not that we did crack ever, just like... an example..."
Hahaha, i've only seen jersey shore once, so we're good lol.

Tess giggled. "No, I don't really want to be a slut, though..." She gave him an accusatory look. "I think you called me something along those lines when we first met." She grinned, it didn't bug her. "I probably would have gone down that route if I hadn't conceived, you certainly were." She giggled. "Poor Madison, that girl never stood a chance once you got a taste for sex." She covered the baby's ears when she said it, though he hopefully wouldn't know the meaning of that word until he was much, much older. "And I'm glad neither of us turned to crack to solve our miniscule problems. Gage is too amazing to imagine him facing that kind of a life." She kissed the baby's forehead.

Nick laughed lightly, "Yeah, but I came back because Gage saved me. You both saved me from becoming a slut," he said with another soft chuckle. "I love you both. He laughed again and shook his head, "I don't think Madison stood a chance because of you. Once I got a taste of you I couldn't go back to her. I tried, but it didn't work out." He leaned forward, careful not to smother Gage and kissed her lips. "She just wasn't like you. No one was." He nodded, agreeing. "Youre right, he's too good for that stuff. He might be a mini Malachi after all," he said with a grin, nearly praying that it wouldn't happen.

Tess laughed with him. "I'm glad neither of us turned into sluts and as mean as it sounds, I'm glad you couldn't go back to Madison, because I can't imagine life without you now." She accepted his kiss and ran her fingers through Gage's hair. "If he turns into a miniature Malachi I don't think I'd mind too much." She too kissed Nick's lips. "Malachi is strong..."

Nick grinned at her, "Yeah well, she was never as exciting as you are. You're a hundred times more fun than she is." He smirked as she spoke and kissed him, but with her last statement it faded. He licked his lips and nodded, "Yeah, only on the outside." He hadn't told her the reason his brother was staying with their grandparents. After Sara's funeral, he had tried to kill himself. It wasn't a pretty sight to see. Their mother had sent him to live with them so they could keep a more watchful eye on him until he pulled out of this depression.

Tess narrowed her eyes and stared at Nick. "What do you mean by that?" She asked. "I mean, not trying to give your brother praise or whatever because his relationship with Sara was practically sickening, but he was strong, he got through Sara being away at rehab alright, and then whatever that crap she was pulling before the hurricane." She really didn't know what Sara had done, but she knew something had when Avery didn't show at the funeral.

Nick licked his lips and sighed. He gave a small shrug and looked down at the baby. He covered his ears, even though there was no way that the little boy would understand anything he was sayin.. "He got through all that, you're right, but after the hurricane he lost it. I guess he thought that he'd put up with everything for nothing..." He swallowed, the image still hurt him. "He tried to commit suicide three times. The first time he overdosed... The second time he tried to hang himself... The third time he had a gun..." He swallowed and looked away. "Sorry, I just..." he shook his head. He didn't like seeing Malachi like that. Sure maybe he acted like he didn't like him but the truth was he loved him the most, out of all of his family. They were best friends.

Tess went very quiet, she didn't expect this from Malachi, he just didn't seem like the type to do something like that, but she couldn't very well say it couldn't happen or didn't happen. "I'm sorry." She said, afraid to touch him. She pulled Gage into her arms and held him close, she never wanted Gage to do something like that, she'd prefer him to do anything other than that, she couldn't imagine coming home and finding half a bottle of whatever pills left and her son foaming at the mouth or unconscious on the floor. She didn't even want to try imagining finding him hanging somewhere and just the smallest thought of a gun in her son's hand brought tears to her own eyes. "Nick..."

Nick shook his head, "No, I didn't mean to make you cry, babe..." He moved forward pulled her to himself with Gage in her arms. "He won't do that, Tess. Malachi was pushed really hard." He put his hands over hers on their son. "Dont worry about that, not now. I was just telling you because you didn't know yet, but no one knows, okay?"

Tess wiped the tears that had formed away and nodded at her boyfriend. "Will he coming here later?" She wanted to know what set him off, surely it couldn't have just been the death of his girlfriend, though if she'd lost Nick and Gage in the hurricane she might have wished for life to end. "Is he doing alright with your grandparents?"

Nick nodded, "Yeah, once we think we can trust him. I mean, mom can't keep a close eye on him by herself and Grandma only has to keep an eye on one kid, but he apparently doesn't leave her house. He's on homebound lessons at school, so he stays at home all day. She's with him every second so he can't try anything, she's really freaked out." He sighed again and smiled at her. "He'll be okay, I'm sure of it."

Tess rocked Gage in her arms, surprised that he was starting to drift off to sleep again. "What are you guys telling people? I mean are you telling them what he tried to do? Like if Avery were to come, surely he doesn't know, he and Malachi seemed to have a bit of a strained relationship there for a little while, but they were friends, if he were to ask, would you tell him the truth, and that girl Gracie...Sara didn't talk much about her, but she did mention she and Malachi were friends."

Nick shrugged, "That he wanted to start over somewhere completely fresh. I imagine when he comes home we'll just say that he missed us or something. We haven't told anyone. Avery doesn't know and neither does Gracie, and yeah, they were best friends, like Sara and Malachi. I have no idea what went on before the hurricane, but I know that it wasn't good. Malachi thought he was a horrible person, and he apparently still does." He sighed lightly and laid his head down on the pillow. "Oh well. Let's just not talk about it anymore... It's kind of depressing..."

Tess nodded. "Yeah, it is depressing." She stared down at Gage and looked down at Nick. "Should we try putting him in his crib again?" She asked. "Or do you think it's not worth the fight?" She would put him between them, but was still afraid she might roll over and wind up accidentally suffocating him.

Nick shrugged lightly, the little boy didn't look like he was in the mood to fight. He was basically already asleep. "I'd say crib. We can go back to sleep that way," he said with a soft smile. "It's about bedtime anyway. That's what sucks about him not having his own room. I have to wake up every time he does, even though he's only whining because he wants out." He sighed. "I'd say let him sleep here, but that makes me nervous."
