Isabelle scoffed and blew out a frustrated breath. "I'm not defensive Garret." She glanced at him and folded her arms over her chest. "At least I didn't check you out like you were a piece of fucking meat. Fine then, we're even." Though she was very much tempted to kick him in the shins. Izzy was still unsure of why she even bothered with this date, why she bothered with Garret in general and why she didn't just go home and beat the shit out of her cousins. She was wondering why she still stuck around when Chelsea came back with their orders. She gaped in surprise at all the condiments that she had prepared for Garret and pointed at the bag in surprise. "Please don't tell me that's going in your milkshake." She slid off the stool hesitantly and gave Chelsea a smile before moving just a bit closer to her to give her a hug. "Thanks, wish me luck!" And she pulled away and headed out the door. Izzy waited by the door of his car, one hand in the back pocket of her jeans as she glanced at Garret curiously. "So where are we going?"

"Oh my god." He turned to her as they reached the car. "You're serious. You checked me out, you did the exact same thing I did, you want to go back to the museum and get the security video?" He tilted his head and shook his head disapproving. "Believe me I know, I don't forget when a girl checks me out." He shook his head, a wide grin on his face and pulled the door open. He tossed the food inside and then did something he never would have done, he held the door open for her, ready to close it when she got in. "No, I'm not putting all this in my milkshake, it's for the burger, the fries, and the onion rings, or it could just sit in the bag. Do you not put anything on your burger? We're going to my favorite place in the world, not going to tell you until you get in the car and we're driving down the road, so you don't just decide you don't want to go."

Izzy scoffed as she got in his car. "I don't check people out like they're meat, okay? I may have checked you out yes... But not blatantly like you did to me... Like... Like I was a piece of meat!" There wasn't much else she could say along that train of thought though so she merely huffed after thanking him for opening the door for her. She laughed a bit. "I never said I didn't put anything in my burger; it's just that... I make sure I can still taste the burger and not just the condiments, you know?" She waggled her eyebrows playfully at him. "Oh come on, I promise not to leave you hanging if you tell me where it is." She prodded his shoulder as she tugged on her seatbelt. "Come on Garret, not even one clue? A tiny hint?"

Garret laughed and shook his head. "I taste the burger and nope, I don't trust you yet, so..." He shut her door and walked around to the other side and got in, fastening his seatbelt and then speeding out of the diner's parking lot. He drove in the direction of the high school and then started to slow down. "The baseball diamond." He said, glancing at her, then looking back at the road.

Doll was confused when they started making their way to the school but when Garret finally revealed where they were going, she smiled when he looked at her and put her hands on her lap as she faced him. "See? I'm not going anywhere." She had forgotten that he was a baseball player and for some reason, she was glad that he was taking her there. It was somewhere that was very special to him and for some reason that made her happy. Doll shook her head, trying to get the weird feeling out. She looked down at her lap and tugged at a stray lock of hair, tucking it behind her ear absently. "So I don't really get why Aya set us up; were you looking for a girlfriend or something?"

Garret glanced at her and smiled. "I'm glad." He really was happy that she didn't want to bail on him, sure he was a jerk most of the time and if he was her, he would have bailed on him too, but he knew the two of them could find some even ground somewhere and maybe just maybe a real relationship would form between himself and a pretty girl. "I wasn't looking for one in particular, but I guess she felt bad for turning me down. What about you? You looking for a boyfriend?" He smirked and raised an eyebrow as he pulled into the rear parking lot, located closest to the baseball field.

She smirked at him and shook her head. "No not really. I guess she just thought we'd be good together or something. I didn't even ask her about the guys here in Riverside but I guess...", Doll trailed off, "Honestly, I don't know what she could have been thinking but the date hasn't bombed yet right?" Doll winked playfully at him; once they reached the parking lot, Doll removed her seat belt and got out of the car, shutting it behind her, waiting for Garret to get out. She had shrugged on her hoodie, the sleeves were long enough to cover her hands as she slipped them into the pockets of her jeans. Izzy had wondered why Aya had decided to set up Garret and herself; now she knew why she picked Garret... But why had Aya picked her? She shrugged it off, deciding it was a question that didn't really need answering.

"No, the date hasn't exactly bombed yet, we've just had a few set backs." He shrugged and joined her outside of the car with the bags of food and condiments. "So you're completely alright with sitting on the grass?" He asked, making his way past her and out onto the floor. He stopped in the middle of the floor, a foot away from the pitching mound and without ceremony he sat.

Doll laughed and nodded. "Yes Garret, I am perfectly fine with sitting in the grass." She followed him, smiling as he sat near the center. She sat beside him and crossed her legs before resting her elbow on her knee so she could put her chin in the palm of her hand. "So, Garret Walker likes milkshakes, baseball, and putting a ridiculous amount of condiments in his burger. What else do I need to know about you?" A teasing smile curved the corners of her full mouth as she glanced at him and waited for his answer.

Garret shook his head, he still felt like he was on her bad side. "I like milkshakes, love baseball, and not all those condiments are for my benefit." He pulled open the condiment bag. "I hate ketchup and mayo, but Chelsea and I don't know you well, so you know, those are most definitely for your benefit." He tossed the two packets he'd picked up back into the bag. "You don't really need to know anything else about me, but if there is something you want to know, feel free to ask, but I'm warning you, I'm going to answer truthfully so if you really don't want to know how many times a day I take a dump then don't ask..." He opened the other bag and passed her a burger, a curly fry, and an onion ring. He took out his choice of mustard, bbq, and honey mustard and passed her the rest of the bag. "So what do you want to know?"

Doll laughed, "Okay... I actually like ketchup so I'll take that, thank you very much." She grabbed the things he offered her and grinned as she thanked him, taking one curly fry and popping it into her mouth. She chewed thoughtfully, her eyes still on Garret who seemed to be pretty busy with his food. "What's your favorite band? And besides, I'm not the type of person to ask how many times a day you take a dump, so you don't have to worry about that." She put ketchup on her burger before scooting closer to Garret to steal some of his honey mustard which she dipped an onion ring in. "What about you? Do you have questions for me?" She ate the onion ring and practically moaned. "God, the food at Palmer's is good.", She swallowed and glanced at him again. "We can trade, you know? I ask you a question, you answer and ask me one, and so on."

Garret smirked as she stated that she actually liked ketchup and then opened his honey mustard to do the exact same thing Doll would do shortly, dip his onion ring into the wonderful concoction. "Hmmm, that's an easy one, Rise Against, and I wasn't worried, I had a feeling you'd be too embarrassed to ask such a question. I don't much care for that game." He grinned, took a bite of his burger and then nodded his head to agree to her terms. "Alright, fine, has Izzy always been your nickname? Or do you have childhood nickname that you don't tell anyone?" He agreed that Palmer's had some to die for food, but that was probably obvious with his order.

She took a bite of her burger and chewed thoughtfully. "Yeah I kinda pegged you as the type to like Rise Against." Doll laughed softly as she watched him dip his onion ring in the mustard. "It would seem that great mind think alike." Doll winked at him as she took a couple of curly fries and ate them one by one, chewing slowly. She groaned at his question and shook her head. That was probably one of the few questions she didn't want to answer but she wanted to gain Garret's trust so she sucked it up, took a deep breath before glancing at him warily. "I used to be made fun of a lot because I looked like a doll when I was younger; the teasing was terrible." She shook her head and used her free hand to tuck a stray lock of hair behind her ear. "One thing that came from the teasing that actually stuck though, was a nickname my family usually calls me: Doll." She winced at the name and glanced at him again, hoping he wouldn't tease her.

Garret could totally see it, but he wasn't about to admit it to her, she didn't look too thrilled about the entire thing. "Can't see it." He made a face as if he were examining her face. "Nope." he shrugged. "So why exactly would you peg me for a guy who likes Rise Against? What gave it away?" He was breaking the rules, it was her turn to ask him a question, but he rarely played by the rules.

Izzy laughed and shook her head. "Shut up Garret; even I can see it. I don't like it but it's still the truth." She sighed softly and smiled just a bit sadly. "I just wish people didn't tease me for it." She glanced at him. "Don't get me wrong I'm not the type of person who cries just because people who have no life make fun of me about my face. But I get really annoyed; I mean it gets old you know?" She put her hand to her mouth and had the decency to blush. "Sorry, I'm rambling. And in regards to your question, I dunno. You just look the type; I'm pretty sure that doesn't make sense but that's what I feel." She paused to take a bite of her burger, chewing thoughtfully and swallowing before asking her next question. "So what are you planning to take up when you graduate?"
