Nick nodded lightly, she was right, as soon as possible meant right now. He licked his lips nervously and kissed her gently on top of the head. "Alright, well... I guess you're right." He thought about it for a second, and he was sure that his mom was home. She didn't work anymore and he'd just eaten the breakfast that she made for him. "Yeah, she's home. Do you think we should get Gage, or leave him with Cai?"

Tess thought about it. Having Gage as a buffer would be a lot easier. "I think we should go grab Gage. Difficult news comes easier when it comes from the mouth of a babe, right?" She didn't really trust it, but what else were they going to do? "Unless Gage is just having a blast with Malachi then we'll just have to do it ourselves." Her nerves were coming back.

Nick shrugged lightly and nodded, "That might not be a bad idea..." He thought about it for a moment then smirked. "You know what? That's kind of genius. If he tells them, they can't really yell... Not until they've cooled off, anyway." He shook his head lightly, he liked the idea. He kissed her again and unraveled her arms from around him and sat up, looking back down at her. "What will we tell him to say, though?"

Tess raised an eyebrow, considering what would be easiest for their son to remember. "What if he says something like he's a big brother or he's going to be a big brother...?" She shrugged, it wasn't her best idea. "We could just tell him and then tell him to go tell grandma, let him figure out what to say on his own, his vocabulary has improved, he's getting into the normalcy brackets, thank goodness, I was afraid we'd be trying to coax him to talk by four or five."

Nick nodded and looked at her again, "Yeah, you're probably right. Just let him say whatever he wants to, it'll probably be less obvious then..." He licked his lips and nodded, standing up from his bed and offering her a hand. "Shall we go find our son, then?" he asked lightly, giving her a gentle smile. Maybe Gage had forced him to grow up so much, but he knew that if he was the same person he was when the baby was born, he would've been beyond mad about the situation.

Tess took Nick's hand and got up. She smoothed out the front of her shirt and started through the door. She hoped her face no longer looked like she'd been crying, but there wasn't much she could do about it if it did. She found Malachi and Gage rather easily, hyped up on lucky charms marshmallows anyone would be able to find him. He had Malachi's guitar and was plucking at the strings and singing some nonsense song he'd made up with his limited vocabulary. "Hey Gage, Uncle Cai teaching you how to play?" She glanced up at Malachi and smiled, then looked around at Nick. They hadn't discussed whether or not they'd tell Malachi, but she figured he might as well hear it now, he'd find out soon enough anyway. "Can you give Cai the guitar back, mommy and daddy have to tell you something?" Gage stopped plucking at the strings and with his little hands underneath the neck of the guitar he offered it back to Cai, though physically lifting it was not taking place. "Do you know how Daddy and Uncle Cai are brothers?" Gage nodded his head, although he probably didn't completely understand. "And how daddy and Aunt Ali are brother and sister?" Another nod. "Well you're going to be just like them." She glanced up at Cai and then back down at Gage with a smile. "You're going to be a big brother."
