Relieved that she wouldn't have to sit for an extremely long time, Chynna nodded her head in agreement. "Yeah, we could take breaks. I'd like that. How long does it usually take you to draw a picture?" She wasn't much of an art expert, so she wasn't familiar with the process. All of the pictures her brother had drawn of his ex-girlfriend were mostly from memory. She couldn't recall her ever coming over to the house to pose for a picture. Before she could ask anymore art-related questions, his stomach growled, causing her to switch her focus to another topic. "Nope, I haven't eaten yet. What do you feel like eating?"

Andrew offered a shrug. "Depends on what I'm drawing. If it's still life maybe a couple hours. If I'm drawing a person it takes longer, mostly because people don't like to sit for hours on end." He smiled a bit a her question, that had been exactly what he'd been trying to decide when he'd seen her. "I have no idea. I can't afford much after restocking on art supplies, so I'm thinking a slice of pizza will have to do for now."

Chynna was impressed yet again. "Wow, you draw still life stuff too? We had to draw one of those in art class once with chalk. It was so boring staring at a bowl of fruit for an hour. My drawing looked so weird. I got the bowl right, but my fruit wasn't even close." Starting to feel as hungry as he was, she immediately began walking in the direction of the food court. "Pizza sounds great actually. I love pizza."

"Yeah. It's actually a lot easier than drawing a person." He chuckled lightly at her story, a smile crossing his lips. "I didn't like drawing still life in school either. It is very boring. I would much rather draw a scene or an animal, or a person like you." He was teasing her lightly, a soft grin on his face. "It gets easier with practice. It took me a while to learn how to draw an apple well." He winked, following her towards the food court. "Pizza it is. Ahh, I'm afraid I don't have much money though, or else I would pay for you." Andrew did feel bad that he couldn't pay, but he had spent most of his allowance on art supplies. Besides, it wasn't like it was a date, they had just randomly ran into each other. It would be nice if-- Andrew paused in his thoughts, shaking his head lightly. He couldn't think about even wanting to date her right now, as much as he, surprisingly, found that he wanted to. Especially considering she was just now starting to get comfortable around him. "Maybe we could pool together and get a pizza to share?"

"A person like me?" Chynna asked curiously. She couldn't understand just what he meant by that. How was she different from any other person? "Wow, you must have practiced a lot, then. I can draw an apple, but I can't get it to look all round with the shadows and stuff. My apples always wind up looking flat." She nodded her head at his suggestion that they both chip in for a pizza. Most of the money she had was for her siblings' presents, but her mother had given her a little extra for lunch. "That's fine. Don't worry about paying for me. I'm a big girl. I can pay for myself."

Andrew 's grin turned into a smile and he turned to look back in the direction they were headed, suppressing a light chuckle. "I meant you." He said simply, glancing over at her. "I draw pretty much everyday so yes, I do get in a lot of practice. It helps to love drawing, otherwise it can get frustrating and even boring. I've thought about quitting a couple of times actually." He chuckled lightly at her comment about the apple, shading was one thing he always had a problem with. It frustrated him to no end. "Ahh, yes you are a big girl but I am also a big boy, and I was taught that I shouldn't let the girl pay if I can help it." He paused when they made it to the stand, turning to Chynna with the smile still playing on his lips. "What type of pizza do you like? I'm not particularly picky."

"Awww thanks," Chynna said, smiling back at him. "I can't say that I really love drawing. I just don't really have the patience for it. If I mess up one little line, I get so frustrated. My brother can sit there and just start over again for hours. I can't. I quit after pretty much the first mistake that I make." She chuckled at his insistence that he'd pay for her pizza. "You can pay for me if you want. I just never heard of guys paying for girls unless they're on a date or something...." Her face turned bright red as soon as the words came out of her mouth. "I-uh, ham and pineapple pizza's fine."

Andrew chuckled lightly, he knew several people like that. "Yeah, I understand. I'm like that with pretty much everything else. Especially math." He stuck out his tongue playfully, grinning at her next statement. "Ahh, but alas, I can't this time. Next time though, I'll remember that." He winked at her, turning his attention back to the menu, but not before catching a glimpse of her now red face. He found himself once again wondering if she would allow him to ever take her on a date. "Alrighty then. Ham and pineapple it is. A common choice in our household." He took the liberty of ordering the pizza for them, and pulled out what money he had left, a little over half the amount due.

"Really? I'm actually pretty good with math right now. I guess it gets harder once you get to high school though. Not looking forward to that at all." She chuckled at him sticking his tongue out. "That's okay. You don't have to worry about paying for me next time unless it's a...." Her face remained bright red at the idea of what she was about to say. A high school kid dating a junior high kid? How ridiculous was that? Plus it's not like I've been out on a date before..... She pulled out her share of the money and placed it on the counter.

"Nah, if you're good you're good, no matter what grade. I just suck period." Andrew laughed, leading Chynna towards the tables. "Er...where would you like to sit?" He asked, deciding to let her pick the table. He noticed her trail off and glanced down at her, wondering what it was she was going to say. "Date?" He finished softly, a tiny smile playing on his lips. "Would you like to go out on a date with me sometime Chynna?" He hoped he wouldn't scare her off with his question, but he knew if he didn't ask now, he probably wouldn't get the chance to again.

"Awwww that sucks," Chynna said, walking in the direction of a nearby empty table. "What kind of math are taking? I'm doing pre-algebra. It's actually kind of fun. I know that sounds weird...." She paused and nearly passed out at his question. "Y-you want to go out with me? I-I....why?" She had never been out on a date in her life. Apart from a brief childhood friendship, she had never even known a boy that was actually interested in her, especially one that was older than her. She grabbed her pizza and sat down at the table, trying to take the events of the last few seconds in.

"I'm in Geometry. It's a bit easier than other maths, but it's still hard for me sometimes." He followed her to the table, sitting across from her. Andrew couldn't help the smile on his lips at her question and placed his pizza on the table in front of him, not yet opening it. "Because I like you. I think you're sweet and cute and despite your dislike of teenagers I'd like to get to know you some more. If you'd like, that is."

"Ohhhh you mean like shapes and stuff? I think I can handle that. I don't think it would be too scary." Feeling hungrier, she opened up her pizza and immediately took a few bites. She practically choked on it a few seconds later. "Y-you think I'm cute?" she asked after coughing a few times. Having grown up with several older siblings, she had been called cute on numerous occasions, but there was something different about the way that he had said it. Unlike those other times, the compliment didn't make her feel like a little kid. "I-I wouldn't mind hanging out with you again."

"Yeah, that's why it's easier for me. I know shapes all too well." Plus Andy was more of a hands-on learner, and Geometry is a very hands-on subject. Following Chynna's lead, Andrew opened his own box, picking off a piece of pineapple and popping it in his mouth before taking a bite. "Yes, I think you're very cute." Andrew kept the rest of his thoughts to himself, offering a smile instead. "I'm glad. I was afraid I would scare you off."

"Yeah, it doesn't sound that tricky at all. I mean, circle, square, triangle, rectangle, and a few more random things. A triangle has three sides, a square has four, an octagon has eight....no wonder you have such an easy time with that." She laughed and ate a few more bites of pizza before returning the subject of their future date. "You thought I was afraid of you?" She was about to protest how ridiculous that sounded, until she realized that his assumption wasn't exactly unfounded. Ever since the day they met, he had to listen to her silly preconceived notions about teenagers. Even though they were getting along now, he probably thought that she still felt that way. "I'm not afraid of you," she said, hoping to reassure him.
