"Twenty, Music Composition major at the university." Ame muttered in reply, feeling a little more willing to open up. This girl kind of reminded him of Perrin, he figured that was why he was so willing to follow this girl he had just met in a club. He shoved his hands in his pockets, "So tell me, Ivy, if you didn't intend to drink or dance, what were you doing at a club? You don't seem the type to take hopeless cases out of clubs and try to 'save' them or something." He looked at her, his face a mix of joking playfulness and seriousness, "Are you going to bring me home and kill me?"

Ivy grinned with Ame's question, giving him a small shrug and a laugh. She had been out with her friends, they just happened to be god knows where doing god knows what with god knows who, a practice Ivy herself wasn't very fond of. She didn't see the point of meeting a stranger in a bar just to go have a quickie in a closet or something. "My friends dragged me out of the house. They said that I've been spending too much time in my room." She shrugged. "Term papers and such." She had been swamped with school lately. She looked at him in question. "So, why music?"

Ame nodded in understanding, that dreaded word term papers seeming to be like a magical word. "I like singing, but I never do it in public anymore." He admitted. "It's reserved for my little brother or any bugs that may be hiding in the house at the moment." He shrugged, "But I learned to read notes when I was younger, so I know the basics of songwriting."

Ivy gave him a small smile. It made made her happy that he seemed to be opening up to her. "Maybe someday you'll be able to sing in front of people again. Did you like it before you stopped?" She could imagine giving up something she loved to do, even worse wanting to do it but not being able to. Her brother had been that way with sports, after their parents died it took him months to be able play again. "What are you going to do when you graduate, if you don't sing in front of just anyone?"

Ame shrugged. "I'm already working two jobs, I'll probably try to get promoted after I graduate." He replied simply. "I don't really have anything in mind for what I'm gonna do, what about you?" He asked her. He was finally feeling more like social, his clubbing urges having left them now that it wasn't even in sight anymore.

Ivy nodded her head, taking in the things he was telling her. There once was a time where she knew exactly what she was going to do with her life, and even had an elaborate plan as to how she was going to achieve all of the goals she had set, but those plans began to change when her parents died. She was forced to reevaluate what it was that she wanted, and why she was doing what she was doing. So, when she learned she had a knack for design and computers, her future plans changed completely. “Well, I want to open my own graphic design firm. I’m going to use my artistic abilities and computer skills and make a job out of it. Be my own boss. If that doesn’t work out, I’ll probably get a job with a production company or something until I can figure things out.” Ivy said, explaining her somewhat solid future plans. “Do you like your jobs?”

Ame shrugged and smirked, "I work at Subway and as a T.A. How much is there to like?" He told her simply. He looked up to the sky. "Maybe I'll look into being a teacher." He thought aloud. He had never really considered it before, but he would be willing to at least look into it. "Graphic Design firm, huh? That seems interesting. Wish I knew something about graphics or designs, I'd be your first employee." He told her, his way of admitting he tolerated, maybe even could like Ivy as a friend.

Ivy stared at him, disbelief evident in her expression. She wasn't judging him in the slightest, in fact, she was only trying to figure out if he was being serious. Was this boy really this hopeless? A small frown rested on her face as she looked away, watching the cars drive by, or the few that occasionally passed their way, that was. "There's always something to like, Ame." She said, her hand reaching up to push her brown hair behind her ear. "Even when things seem as bad as they can get. You've got to find something to enjoy, you know? Or else you're going to get lost in it all." Ivy smiled at his offer, looking at him again. "There's all the time in the world to learn, you know. It doesn't have to be graphic design, or even singing. Maybe you can learn to paint, or maybe you're really great with cameras." She shrugged, letting an easy silence to pass over them. "My dad always told me to never let an opportunity to pass me by, even if I think that I'll hate it. He told me to try everything and have no regrets. He taught me to face my fears and prevent them from holding me back. He had it all figured out, my dad."

Ame looked at her curiously, amazed at how good of an outlook on life Ivy had. "Wow. That's... that's really inspirational, actually." He told her honestly, almost completely stopped in his tracks. He smiled and put his hands behind his head, looking to Ivy, "Your dad seems like he was a real cool guy." He told her. He let out a small sigh, "Maybe you could teach me? Graphic design, I mean." He suggested to her.
