Mikkie walked over to the table, biting her lip as she sat back in her spot. She avoided eye contact with the two as she began playing with the straw of her drink. "How long does lunch usually last?" She asked quietly, still not looking up at either of them. Although she was glad she'd had pretty much all her classes with the two, she was now a bit unsure of how she felt, considering it didn't seem like they wanted her around much, especially not Som.

Som looked at his phone real quick, "We've got about another 15 minutes, I think." He told her, Capri-Sun still hanging out of his mouth, even though he got the straw open and in the drink. Kiet, however, noticed her behavior, "Did.... did we do something to offend you?" He asked, tilting his head to the side curiously.

Mikkie quickly shook her head. "No, you didn't." She was offended just...put-out. She was sure she'd be fine by the end of the day. Or if I make new friends. Mikkie wasn't too sure on the friends thing happening, though she couldn't be too sure. Even though she hadn't had very many friends at her old school that didn't mean she was shy or hated. Maybe it's cuz I have 3 brothers. People tended to be intimidated by them, especially her older brothers.

Kiet smiled at her, though he still seem unsure, "If we did, I'm sorry..." His voice faded as Som cleared his throat, and he looked over to his brother. Som shifted in his seat, finally pulling what seemed like a half-empty Capri-sun away from his mouth, "Regardless if we did something to offend you or not, I'm sorry for the way I was acting this morning, I'm not a good morning person." He said, giving her a pure, sweet smile. "I tedn to be grumpy and standoffish, for that, I apologize."

Mikkie looked up when Som cleared his throat as well. "It's fine. I understand." She said softly, lowering her eyes again, mostly to keep from blushing this time. She glanced up at the clock, wondering how slow 15 minutes could be. Not that she wanted to get away from the two, it was kinda impossible considering the rest of her classes where with them, but she was starting to feel antsy from sitting in one spot for so long and was ready for a change of scenery. Mikkie finally glanced up at Kiet and said, "We've got math next. Is it hard?"

Kiet shrugged, "I'm not particularly skilled at math, so I would say so. Som, here, is in a level above me and says he gets bored in class." He said, rolling his eyes. Som just let out a chuckle, "Forgive me. Besides, you're better at English than me." He looked to Mikkie, "I guess it depends on what you're better at. I'd say it's about average for our grade level."

Mikkie smiled a bit, though it was kinda mixed with a wince. She wasn't particularly good in math either. She wasn't horrible at it but it definitely wasn't her strong point. Neither was English for that matter. "Oh. Alright. I'm not very good at either, I hope the classes don't move super fast. They did at my old school and I fell way behind." Mikkie sighed lightly at the memory, her brother's hadn't been very happy, and she'd been super depressed.

Kiet smiled at her reassuringly, "The teacher's really awesome though. Super nice and always willing to help out students who are confused." He told her. Som nodded, having the same teacher even though he was in a different class. "She even helps after school if you need it and can't come in during break or lunch."

"That's good." Mikkie said, still playing with her straw. She began chewing on it, a small frown on her face. Knowing Mikkie, she would be in her office everyday. Mikkie sighed lightly. "I hope I don't fall behind again. I think she would get tired of me coming in for help."

"I don't think so, he'd be there every day if it weren't for track and field practice." Som said, pointing casually at his brother. Kiet glared at his brother, "Not true..." He sighed and let out a small chuckle, "Just most of the time if I didn't have track and field practice."

"You do sports?" Mikkie asked, surprise filtering into her voice. She didn't play sports, she didn't know if she could though because she'd never tried. She giggled lightly, shaking her head. "That makes me feel better I guess. Do you ever ask him for help?" She asked, nodding towards Som.

Kiet nodded, "He gets annoyed helping me though, so asking the teacher is better." He explained with a small laugh. Som glared at his brother before looking back to Mikkie. "He does track 'n' field, I do lacrosse." He explained to her. "We only just started last semester, so neither of us are really good yet."

Mikkie wondered if he would get annoyed at her if she were to ask help, but quickly shook the thought out of her mind. "Maybe I should stick with the teacher then." She smiled lightly at the two. "That's cool. I wish I were good at some type of sport."

Kiet nodded enthusiastically at her mention of only asking the teacher. In his own experience, his brother could get mean as his constant whining of "I don't get it," but he didn't need to tell Mikkie all that right now. He made a mental note to make sure to help her if and when he could. "Luckily, the cliques aren't all about if you can play a sport or you're look 'pretty'," Som explained, actually using air quotes when he said the word "pretty." "They just form based on who you make friends with. Chances are, you'll end up meeting our friends whether you want to or not." He teased her, giving her a small wink and a nudge.

"That's good, because I'm neither." Mikkie muttered, giving a tiny shrug. She stood when the bell suddenly rang, grabbing her trash. She blushed lightly but didn't say anything at the end. She was glad she had math next with Kiet, being around Som kinda made her a bit nervous, though she didn't know why. Kiet was a lot more friendly, to her at least, and she felt naturally more comfortable around him. Mikkie did wonder what their friends would be like, but for now made it a point to try to avoid them, despite what Som said. She felt like she wouldn't fit in anyway, and would try to avoid that feeling if at all possible.
