Max was getting settled in his seat when he turned his head back to Shane at his first comment. "Hm? Not healthy for what?" he wasn't really paying attention too much, more because he was starting up the car and backing into the streets towards his place next.

"For Arielle to want to be picked up as much as she does." He stared out the window as he spoke, watching the cars and buildings roll by as they drove down the street. "Maybe if I came around more often she wouldn't want to be picked up as much. At least, that's what Naomi always tells me. I think she just uses Arielle as an excuse to get me to come around more often."

"Mm.." Max nodded, agreeing to Shane's statement. "Yeah, whenever you come around, she always acts as though she hasn't seen you in like, a year or something." he explained, turning the corner onto Millberry Lane getting closer to the apartment. "I mean, maybe you should come around more often. We don't mind. Hell, David doesn't even mind the company anymore. What with having two little girls and a pregnant woman in the house. I don't think he even cares who shows up anymore." he chuckled.

"Yeah, I know." The first couple of times it was cute, now it was getting annoying. But Shane knew he was partly to blame for that. Shane laughed, half the time he forgot Max lived with his brother. "I bet he doesn't. If I were him I wouldn't be home, ever."

Max laughed. "Well honestly, he rarely is anyway. Even if he is, he's either locked in his room playing guitar or writing songs, or in the kitchen eating." he chuckled, turning into the driveway of his apartment, turning off the ignition before turning back to Shane. "But most of the time, he's out playing for some extra money, trying to gather band members, or out just spending time with his own daughter Brooklyn." He looked back up, managing to see Naomi through the window with Arielle. "So..you ready?"

Shane nodded throughout Max's explanation of his brother, and nodded at the end at his question. "Yeah, I'm ready." He climbed out of the car, grabbing the gift out of the back seat as he did. When he got up to the door, the door was opened by Naomi, who was holding Arielle. The baby immediately reached for her uncle, clenching and unclenching her hands. "Here." Shane gave his gift to Naomi and picked up the baby in his arms. "What's up Ari?"

Max grabbed his two gifts as well, and walked up to the front door about to open it, but Naomi had beaten him to it. When Shane was handed Arielle to him, Max couldn't help but give him a look, warning him to be careful of his arm, just so Naomi wouldn't be able to even guess that something went wrong while they were gone. He turned back to Naomi then, smiling. "Hey, sweetie." he said, hugging and kissing her. "Hope you don't mind, but I couldn't help but get Ari two gifts instead of one." he chuckled lightly, kissing Naomi's lips gently.

Naomi smiled up at Max, kissing him back lightly. "No, I don't mind. One can just be from me since I haven't gotten a chance to get her anything." Shane caught the look Max gave him, but it was bit too late for that. He tried to mask his wince as much as possible, but it was hard because Arielle was climbing over him, babbling about something he had no idea what.

"I was just thinking that idea actually." Max chuckled, handing one of the gifts to her only to whisper something in her ear, "I'll tell you what you got her once we get her to bed." Kissing her cheek after. It was then that Max noticed Shane's sudden wincing of his arm. Before Naomi could even notice it though, he said with a light chuckle, "Careful Ari. Don't break Uncle Shane now."

Naomi nodded, smiling and taking the gifts. "I'll go hide them in the closet." She said, about to walk away. She stopped though, when she heard Max's comment. She turned to see Shane looking over at her, and then he adverted his gaze, but not before Naomi saw the pain in his eyes. It was hard for her to miss, since she'd seen it so often. "Shane?" "I'm fine." He said before she could say anything else. Although, he didn't notice that it was starting to bleed through his shirt a bit.

Max nodded, about to let Naomi out of the room when she in fact did notice Shane's facial expression. It wasn't long either that he also started noticing the blood slowly coming through his shirt. His eyes widened, trying to stay in between the two of them as much as possible. "Uhm...Nai, don't you wanna hide those presents in the closet? You wouldn't want Ari to go snooping around, and accidentally finding them, do you?" he tried saying, already attempting to lightly push her out of the room with the presents, just to save her from seeing the blood stain growing larger on Shane's sleeve.

Naomi frowned when Max began pushing her away, about to open her mouth to protest. "Go on Naomi. The sooner you hide them the better." Naomi didn't like being pushed away like that, but she turned and left the room anyway. Shane sighed and set Arielle on the floor, earning a soft cry for her. "Just a sec Ari." He muttered, pulling off his shirt sleeve to see the blood had indeed soaked through. "Shit. I must've snagged it harder than I thought when I was putting on my shirt. There's no way Naomi won't notice this."

Max nearly gave a sigh of relief when Naomi finally left the room. He picked up Arielle in return after hearing her soft cries, and took a closer look at Shane's arm. "Oo...yeah, that does look bad." he groaned. "Come on, we have stuff to patch it back up in the bathroom." he told him, motioning him to quickly follow to the bathroom. But first setting Arielle in her swing in the living room while they were gone. "We'll be right back Ari." he told his daughter, also earning him another soft cry in return as he quickly pulled on Shane's good arm to the bathroom.

Shane walked back into the bathroom with Max, shrugging off his shirt and wincing when it snagged his bandage again. "This damn shirt is caught on the bandage. I can't take it off without tearing it." He sighed, shaking his head. "Fuck my life."

They made it to the bathroom, but Max noticed Shane struggling with his shirt as it was still snagged on the bandage. "Ohh..here, let me try." he said, carefully pulling the shirt away from the bandage without ripping anything. After two or three tries though, he managed to get them appart. Though the shirt still had blood stained on the sleeve. He cursed to himself. "Ah shit. There's no way Naomi's not gonna notice this." he tossed the blood-stained shirt in the sink and turned on the cold water, attempting to rub out the blood while it was still fairly wet.
He got that much done luckily, and hung the shirt over the shower door momentarily and got the first aid box out to replace Shane's torn bandage.
