Alegrah smirked and shrugged her shoulders, "You can think what you want," she said lightly, supporting her head on her hand with her elbow resting by the table. "But you know I'm usually right." She liked to think that she was. She was convinced that he only saw what he wanted to and that was that. She wet her lips again as he made his admission and she nodded lightly, "I missed you too. You know that."
Her eyes glanced up as the waiter came by, stopping their tiny moment and asked them what they would like to drink, "I just want a banana milkshake," she said and then looked over at Wes, figuring he would know at least what he wanted to get to drink, if not more.

Wes tried to consider whether or not Alegrah was being realistic when she said that she was usually right, but couldn't think of specific examples to refute her claim. "Are you, now?" he asked, his eyebrows raised. Then he just laughed. He had always liked the audacity with which Alegrah spoke, and that certainly had not changed. "Well, we'll see," he said, convinced that he wouldn't be bothered either way. Alegrah licked her lips again, and this time he let himself stare for a few moments. "Yeah," he said, though at this point, he didn't really know how she felt about him. Probably mad and confused and relieved, if he had to guess, but he wasn't really sure how long you could miss someone you thought would never return before the pain dulled.
"Hi," Wes said when the waiter approached, then let Alegrah order as he reviewed his choices in his mind. "I'd like an Oreo milkshake and, uh, a double cheeseburger without mustard. Please."

Alegrah shrugged lightly at his question, she thought that she was at least for the most part. She knew that she wasn't always right, she wasn't going to delude herself into thinking that she was, but a lot of the time, especially when it came to who liked who, she was correct. She smiled at him and nodded. "We will see," she said as if she were more confident in it now that she had ever been before. She really just liked teasing him and if she was right, that was that much more bragging that could be dealt out.
She nodded when he told the waiter what he wanted to eat as well and she looked up at the boy, "And I'll have a single cheeseburger with bacon please." That's what she always got. Anything with Bacon was always the right answer to a dilemma. Don't know what to order? Whatever has bacon on it. Don't know where to go for dinner? Which place serves bacon? The waiter then left the table and left them be. "So... How's school?" she tried.

Wes smiled inwardly as Alegrah ordered. He loved that even though she was a dancer and a cheerleader, she wasn't afraid to eat things like bacon. "School? Um...fine," he said when she asked. "I've got AP exams for calculus and physics coming up, but I don't think they'll be too bad." Math came pretty easily to him, and working with Austin on Physics had helped a lot over the year. "Did I, uh, tell you I'm looking to pursue architecture?"

Alegrah nodded as he explained what was happening at school for him. She nodded and hoped that it wouldn't be too hard on him. She shook her head lightly, giving a little laugh as she did. "You're too smart for me," she stated simply, looking down at the table, her head still shaking back and forth. She didn't actually mean that necessarily, but she had never even dreamed of taking AP courses in high school. She shook her head at his question, though, "No, you didn't. That's awesome! I honestly never really knew what you were interested in..." That had her wondering how well she actually knew the boy.

Wes laughed uneasily for a moment or two. "I swear I'd be sunk in Physics without my friend Austin. Photographic memories are seriously not fair. He's, like, never worried about schoolwork, ever." Wes drummed his fingers on the table a little, suddenly really hungry now that they'd ordered. "Yeah, I'm really looking forward to it, actually. It's just...cool." His eye had recently been caught by the magnificence of a few structures and the fact that they were fairly permanent made creating them even more appealing. Wes had even started to pay attention to little details of most buildings since then. "I decided on it pretty recently, though. Before then, I pretty much just cared about, like, running and listening to music and stuff." And you.

Alegrah let herself giggle lightly as the waiter brought their shakes to the table and she thanked him. She nodded, "I agree, people with photographic memories should have to go to a special school so they stop making the rest of us look bad," she teased, obviously not actually thinking it should happen. She stirred the straw around in her milkshake and licked her lips once more in anticipation before taking a sip of that wonderful creamy concoction. She could nearly feel a weight lift from her chest as he said the realization was recent. She smiled and shook her head, "Oh good. I knew that stuff about you..." She looked back down at the table before she let her eyes meet his once again. "I was worried I'd missed something."

Wes laughed unabashedly, imagining Austin trying to dumb himself down so that he wouldn't have to go to a school that would actually challenge him academically. The guy wasn't much of an actor. "Aus would never go for that. That sort of school probably wouldn't leave much time for sports, I imagine." Wes grabbed his milkshake as the waiter brought it to the table, looking up just briefly to thank him before he started to practically inhale the shake, stopping only after he'd drunk about a third of it. He wiped his mouth with a napkin and then chuckled at Alegrah's response. "I guess that things are pretty much 'what you see is what you get' with me," he said with a shrug. That wasn't quite right, but he just meant that his passions were few, but intense. Wes held Alegrah's gaze when she looked up at him, but didn't know how to respond about missing things. He did appreciate that she wanted to know what he was interested in.

She smirked at his statement, "That's probably very true. I bet they wouldn't even have sports." She took another sip of her milkshake and laughed lightly after swallowing. "Geeze, hoss. did you get enough there? Good thing they give free refills." She smiled at him and then felt her cheeks get hot as their gaze lasted a little bit too long for their comfort and quickly turned her head back down toward her milk shake, moving her straw around inside the cup. That easy air that had seemed to be there before now sort of closed in on her and she had no idea what to say. She took a deep breath and tried to think of something that didn't sound absolutely idiotic.

Wes nodded at her statement, and decided that playing club sports while going to a school like that would be even more unlikely. Wes shrugged, a smile playing faintly on his lips. "I was thirsty, and it's really good." He took another sip as if to demonstrate.
Their gaze broke just after it became awkward, and Wes scanned their diner for their waiter, hoping to see plates of burgers in his hands. Seeing none, he took another sip of his shake and then looked out the window, noting that the sky held promise of another possible downpour.

Alegrah laughed lightly at his excuse, "See? I told you it would be. You'll never doubt me again!" She held her head up proudly, but she lost a bit of her confidence and looked back down to her own milkshake. She let her fingers move up to the top of the glass as one of them traced around the ring at the top. She chewed lightly on the side of her bottom lip before she looked back up at him. He was still as hot as she remembered him being. She swallowed lightly and decided to speak again. "Remember our rule about questions? It's your turn."

A laugh escaped Wesley's mouth when Alegrah said that he'd never doubt her again. There were definitely much more serious things than the quality of milkshakes...and he could still doubt her about those things. "And I was really looking forward to throwing you into a lake," he muttered, teasing. "Thanks for suggesting this place." Wes continued to sip his milkshake, and, looking down, realized that it was more than halfway empty.
Pulled out of his musings and the safety from awkwardness they provided, Wes opened his mouth to protest and then closed it. "You always get me with that one, don't you? Let's see..." He watched Alegrah trace her milkshake glass as he tried to think of something to ask her. "What event are you most looking forward to right now?"

Alegrah smiled at him and shrugged lightly before slouching down just a little bit so that she could put her feet up in the bench that he was sitting in, scooting a little bit to the left of him. "You still could if you really wanted to, but it's kind of chilly out today," she explained, teasing him really. She didn't exactly want to get thrown in a lake. If it were summer time, sure, but not now. Not when it was as cold as it was on this rainy and cloudy day.
She let a giggle escape, knowing he couldn't argue about it. She knew he hadn't been the one to start the game, but she still liked it and would make him play along as long as he would let her. She took another sip of her milkshake before stirring it again with her straw. She thought about his question and shrugged lightly, "I don't know, I mean... I guess graduation." She was ready to get out of there and move on, but she hadn't exactly heard from Juilliard yet. It was starting to make her a bit nervous.

"For no reason? That would just be mean," Wes said. "I hope your perception of me isn't that negative." He was still teasing back, but there was an uncomfortable hint of truth in that statement.
Wes nodded when Alegrah said graduation. That was something he'd been looking forward to for a long time. "Yeah, me, too," he said. "Somehow, though, I stopped looking forward to it as much as I used to. I...guess I got comfortable with my routine or something. But, anyway, it's always good to have something to look forward to." It sure beats looking back and regretting things.

Grinning at him, Alegrah shook her head, "Oh, you know better than that. I was just pointing out the possibility of you being capable of doing it if you wanted to. I don't think you really would." She let out a small giggle, but then shook her head again as the waiter came to the table with their meal. "Wow, that was quick," she said, thanking the man. She looked back over at Wes then and nodded at him. "I know what you mean. I'm getting kind of nervous the closer it gets," she admitted as she picked up the, quite large, burger on her plate and took a good sized bite.
