Kiet sat down and convinced Som to do the same, though he seemed insistent on joining his own little group of friends. "At least pretend to want to make new friends." Kiet criticized his brother. "It's not that I don't, I just like my own friends." Som argued, seeing Mikkie emerge. He extended his arm, flagging her down. Once she noticed them, he looked to his brother, "See? I like making friends."

Mikkie breathed a sigh of relief when she noticed Som waving towards her, glad she hadn't been standing there looking lost for too long. Once she got over there, she sat down across from them, glancing around the room. "This lunch room is huge."

Som cracked a smile and nodded, "This school takes some getting used to." He said simply. Kiet nodded in agreement, "We've only been here for a semester, but it took probably half of it to know all the ins-and-outs of this place." He added.

"Geez." Mikkie opened her chips first, munching on a few before unwrapping her sandwich and taking a bite. She scrunched her nose up almost immediately, looking at the sandwich with a frown. "This is horribly dry." She muttered, taking a sip of her drink. "Well, I'm glad I met you two then. God knows what would have happened otherwise. I would've never made it to class."

Som laughed, seeming to finally open up to the new girl, he handed her a spare mayonnaise packet he had in his own lunch. "I never use it." He explained simply, biting into his own sandwich. Kiet nodded, "I think it's more difficult for people who come during the school year. There an obvious class gap among freshman and sophomores and whatnot, and then it's high school, so there are cliques." He agreed. A bit sheepishly, he admitted, "Our closest friends are all Thai, like us. We just kind of made a group, but we all met before high school." He looked around. "Don't know where they are right now though." "We've also got friends from our sports teams, but since we're the freshman, they don't really socialize it's us outside of practices and whatnot." Som added. "So yeah, you're lucky to have us." He said teasingly.

"Thanks." Mikki smiled, opening the pack and spreading it on her sandwich. "Oh." Even if they hadn't moved, Mikkie wouldn't have had very many friends to move to a new school with. Not that she didn't talk to people, because she was very friendly. Mikkie giggled lightly, shaking her head and sticking her tongue out at Som. "Don't get a big head now." She took another bite of her sandwich. "Are your other friends as nice as you are?"

Kiet nodded enthusiastically, "It can just not seem like it sometimes, because we tend to sitch to Thai pretty often. We don't mean to exclude anyone though. If we find them, we'll be happy to introduce you." Som smirked at her, "Who's got a big head? Not me, surely." He said mockingly, taking another bit of his sandwich.

Mikkie bit her lip, she wasn't so sure she wanted to meet their other friends. Not that she was afraid they wouldn't be nice, but she was afraid she wouldn't fit in. She could easily imagine herself feeling excluded because they all had more in common with each other than they did with her. "Oh, alright." She giggled at Som, taking a sip of her drink before answering, "I didn't say you hand one, just not to get one."

"What are your hobbies?" Kiet asked suddenly, eyes wide and seeming excited. He noticed her nervousness at the thought of meeting their friends, but he figured as long as she had general interests, she'd fit in fine. Besides, most of the guys tried to speak mostly English these days as it had been encouraging and perfecting Sakda's English. Of the group, he had probably been the most shy as his English hadn't been the best. Som just glanced at his brother, seeming to get what he was suggesting just by the glance, munching on his sandwich simply.

"Um...I sing." Mikkie said, taking a bite of her sandwich. They already know that though. We're all in choir... Once she swallowed she said, "I dance too." She munched on a few chips and finished most of her sandwich before adding. "And I'm learning how to play the flute in band." She shrugged lightly, finishing her sandwich and taking a couple gulps of her drink. "I'm not very interesting though. All the stuff I do are artsy."

Kiet shook his head excitedly, "You'd fit in fine!" He assured her. "We all love music-" "Mostly Thai music though." Som interrupted simply, now playing with the bag his sandwich had been in. "But there's also Beverly most of the time, and she isn't Thai." Kiet assured Mikkie. "But she speaks Thai." Som added in, getting a glare from his twin.

"I-it's fine." Mikkie spoke up as she watched the twins argue. She gave a small shrug, lowering her gaze to the table. "I'll be fine. I don't have to be around them if you don't want me." She bit her lip before standing. "I'm gonna go find the bathroom. Be right back." With that she spun on her heel and disappeared into the crowd of people.

"Of course we want you!" Kiet replied, getting a nudge from his brother. Som just shook his head, waiting for her to leave before speaking. "She can make her own friends if she wants. We'll still be her friend, she doesn't need to spend 24/7 with us." "Just chase her off, why don't you." Kiet growled to his twin, not seeming to listen. Som just looked at him, his eyes making him look as if he was bored. "We don't need to force her to stay with us. We showed her around and extended a hand. Pi chai (older brother), don't worry." He assured him, giving him a smile. "We're twins and we don't even have all the same friends." "You didn't seem to like her at first." Kiet observed. "It wasn't that I didn't like her, it was morning. You know I hate mornings." Som replied, getting a laugh from his brother, "She's nice, I hope we don't lose her to a more popular crowd." He joked.

Mikkie reached the bathroom and sighed, leaning against the sink. She hadn't really needed to use the bathroom, but she was sure they knew that. She also knew that she probably should try to make her own friends, even if it wouldn't work out too well. She would only feel like an outsider with their group of friends, and it was bad enough being like that in the entire school. Another sigh and Mikkie pulled away from the mirror, going back into the lunch room and attempting to find the table once again.

Kiet noticed Mikkie trying to find them and waved her over. "We can still be her friends, right?" Som nodded, fighting with straw packaging as he munched on a corner of a Capri-sun.
