"yes it can be difficult at times. But I have a great family that help out. If I have to stay at college longer than expected or if I'm running late or something. They will pick Carmel up from day care and watch her while I get what I need to get done, done" Savannah said checking her watch to make sure she was still on time and wouldn't be late picking up Carmel. "I wasn't ready for a kid when I was pregnant, but you kind of have to grow up and be an adult. I've grown up loads since having her it's for the best really. And moving here was the best thing I could have done for me and Carmel. Clean break and better opportunitys."

Kalani nodded and listened to everything she was saying, not sure if he felt unfortunate or lucky he couldn't totally relate to what she was saying. When she mentioned not being from around there, he perked up. "Where are you from originally?" He asked her curiously.

"I'm from a little place called Leeds. Which is in England." Savannah said, a smile on her lips. She thought her accent was pretty obvious but she guessed not. "What about you? Are you originally from Riverside or did you grow up somewhere else? Savannah asked a little curious herself to know more about him. Since she practially told him her life story.

Kalani's eyes widened, "dang, that's awesome! I'd love to live in another country for a bit, it seems awesome. I'm originally from Hawaii, though I'm also half Japanese." He explained to her with a pure smile.

"You have lived in a difference country so to speak since you now live in Riverside" Savannah smiled, "England is cool but I hate it when it snows. Have you ever seen snow?" Savannah asked, but then realised he most probably hadn't since it didn't seem to snow in riverside which she was happy about.

Kalani shook his head. "Before my parents died we visited my dad's side of the family in Japan, but I think it was summer at the time." He explained. "Plus, I was barely even four years old. I remember catching fireflies with my biological grandpa and that's about it." He added with a shrug.

"see that's one thing I've never done. I've never caught firefiles" Savannah smiled as she took one final sip of her drink. "So have you been anywhere else other than Japan? Bet what you can remember of your holiday was nice? I've always wanted to travel the world, but I guess your whole life changes once you have a baby. So now my life wish is to graduate college and get a good job so me and Carmel can lead a good life. So I can give her things I wasn't able to have myself. Are you at college?" Savannah asked, playing wiTh the straw to her drink.

Kalani listened simply, nodding in agreement with certain things as he munch mindlessly on his straw. "I'm in college, yeah. A junior." He explained to her simply. "I've never been anywhere else besides Japan and Hawaii." He added.

"What are you studying at college? You living on campus?" Savannah asked, remembering not to ask too many questions at once. It was always harder to keep up when you was talking with someone face to face rather than emails or social networking sites. "I've always wanted to visit Hawaii from what I've heard it's a beautiful place. But then most places are from that one place you grew up in huh?"

Kalani nodded, "I'll admit there were pretty moments, but you get to used to it, you know?" He told her, looking to her as he finished the question.

"Yes I know what you mean. Take living in England when your a kid you live for winter for it to snow but as you get older you couldn't care less and I used to always wish it never snowed" Savannah giggled. "but that's just me. I'm so glad I've never seen one drop of snow here in riverside. You any good with cold weather? Cause for it to snow it would be like standing inside a freezer" shivering at just the thought savannah rubbed her arms to warm her now goose bumped arms up.

Kalani shook his head fervently. "I went up to the snow with my family last December and I practically stayed in the car or by the fireplace while all my siblings were learning to ski." He explained. "I've even got two brothers from Thailand, but they seem more adaptable to things then I am." He added with a small shrug. He smiled to her, "from what it sounds like, I wouldn't last two seconds in England during the winter. At least not outside."

Savannah laughed when he said he wouldn't last two minutes in England during winter. She remembered her mother saying the last winter than England had hadn't been as bad as the others. And during the whole of the winter season it only snowed once. "Nope I don't think you would last long at all in England, well not outside like you said. Unless you wrapped up really well that is. Scarf hand gloves a good few layers of clothes and a nice thick winter coat and I'm sure you would be fine" she smiled, "not sure you would get places fast though the layers of clothes would be bound to hold you down and make you walk slow. So where did you go ski'ing?" she said, happy that it wasn't her doing all the talking. He didn't seem as quiet as when she first sat down next too him.

"Tahoe." Kalani replied simply. He smirked as she mentioned the clothing he'd need. "You wanna know something crazy? I've never owned a pair of gloves. I borrowed my brother's snow gloves when we went to Tahoe." He told her. He looked at a clock on the wall adjacent to them. "Didn't you mention you had to pick up your daughter?" He reminded her, not meaning to break the conversation they had finally managed to start up, but suddenly remembering she had mentioned it.

Savannah nodded her head, "Yes I do have to go and pick up Carmel" fishing around in her hangbag she pulled out a pen and a napkin and wrote her number down, before handing him the napkin. "Here's my number maybe we can hang out sometime?" Standing and brushing down her clothes she smiled At kalani ''nice meeting you'' turning to walk away she headed towards the exit a smile on her face hoping that when Kalani mentioned Carmel he wasn't trying to get rid of her cause she was a single mother.
