Carolina stepped into the coffee shop looking for some form of simple escape. She loved her kids dearly, she really did, but she couldn't take some of the antics today. Luckily, the kids were still with her mother until the next day in Nashville, so she had one more day to relax without going to work or having to take care of something else that her boss felt was important.
She ordered a large hot chocolate and sat down, waiting for her name to be called. "Carolina!" the boy behind the counter called, out into the room. She stood up and walked to the front, thanking him. "Not a problem. You want a cupcake too? It's free. Today only..." Carolina smiled and agreed to take a cupcake. "Alright, have a great day, miss."
She sighed and sat down in the unusually slow coffee shop in a couch in a corner, just enjoying her cupcake and hot chocolate. This day was already relaxing and it hadn't even begun yet.

Oxanna has been complaining all day about Sylvia needed more diapers. Sandr had gone out to the store but had ended up stopping at Mud and Grinds to get a coffee. He was extremely tired; without a mother or father and without Oxanna's past lover, he had taken the role as the 'father' (or, in this case, 'uncle') of Sylvia, despite that he wasn't biologically. He took a glance around Mud and Grinds; it was big but not as big as the Starbucks that he had gotten used to. This place had a more homey interior, you can say. He ordered a cappuccino and two cookies; one for Sylvia and one for himself. He had already calmed down a bit, not feeling as weary as earlier. Maybe it was the cappuccino, he didn't know, but he felt rather relieved. As his eyes scanned the room one last time, he noticed a girl that he hadn't before, sitting on one of the couches. "Mind if I sit with you?" he asked, flashing a charming smile.
sorry, not my best post

As the man approached the table, Carolina looked up from the cupcake she was picking at. She let a smile come to her lips as he asked to sit with her. She gestured to the free seat across from her and nodded, "Of course, be my guest." She took a sip of her still extremely warm hot cocoa. She looked him over and wondered where he had come from. She was pretty sure she hadn't seen him around town before. Then again, she didn't know anyone if they didn't come through the doors of the tattoo parlor where she worked. "My name's Carolina. Or Caroline. Or just Carol."

Sandr smiled when she allowed him to sit with her. He set down the mug and the cookie on the table before sliding into the seat across from her. Sandr studied her a little harder. She was blond with quite a few tattoos here and there. Reading some of them, he noticed that most of them were names. He assumed most of them to be names of loved ones: family members, and close friends. He had his sister's name tattooed on his left wrist and her daughter's name on his wrist wrist. "Pleasure to meet you, Carol." he said, offering his hand in a shake. "I'm Oleksandr, but everybody just calls me Sandr." Then, without hesitation, he added, "It's Ukrainian." Most people found his name quite confusing and strange. It was similar to Alexander, but not quite. To simplify things he allowed people to call him 'Sandr', which sounded more common and American-ized.

Carolina just smiled at him, she raised a brow at his name, though, it was quite odd. She'd never heard it before. She nodded lightly, understanding. "You have a very interesting name," she said lightly. She had already noticed the tattoos on his wrists, and she wondered who had done them. It didn't look like anyone from her shop's work, but then again, maybe it was before her time. He didn't look extremely young. "Nice ink," she said lightly before she took a bite of the cupcake that Bo had given to her. "Where'd you get it?"

Sandr smiled, taking a sip of his cappuccino. He quirked a brow at her calling his name interesting. "Not sure whether that's a compliment or an insult, but I'll count it as a good thing." he said with a chuckle. "Your name is as well." he hadn't really met anybody named Carolina. It wasn't much of a common name. either, but it wasn't too rare or strange in any way. Sandr caught her eying his wrist. "Thanks," he said with a light smile. "A shop in Chicago, I believe." He had been born and raised in the Windy city before deciding to pack up and run away with his sister and her baby. He had gotten it a few years ago and he had forgotten the name of the shop, but the man did do some notable work.

Carolina smiled, "It's a compliment. I like interesting." She licked some of the icing from the top of her cupcake and shook her head lightly. "Nah, my sister and I were both named after states. My brother was named after a city. So in my family it's not too odd." She took another bite of her cupcake and smiled at him before she swallowed, "Although, I suppose your name probably isn't too odd in your family either." She raised a brow. She'd been to Chicago and she'd been to several shops there, but she didn't know any names. "Cool. I'm sorry, I'm a tattoo artist, so I can't help but notice good art."
