"So?" Dawn looked up as Isis skipped beside her the next morning, falling in step with her. "What do you want for your birthday?"
Dawn shook her head, stopping in front of her locker and fumbling with the combination lock, trying to stifle a yawn. "Nothing."
"Stop lying." Isis leaned against the locker beside hers as she opened the door, unloading her backpack and putting her books inside. "What about a new outfit? Or these hot shoes I saw at the mall Saturday? "
"Isis, seriously. I don't want a gift." "But you're turning seventeen." Isis smacked her lips. "What am I gonna look like not getting you something for your seventeen birthday?"
"A really, really good friend?" The bell rang signaling that class had started. Dawn glared at her Sister.
"Aw come on it's your first time late, what are they going to do give you detention" Isis Joked.
"You better hope not missy." Dawn closed her locker Dawn gave her sister a small wave before making her way towards her Calculus class. Thankfully there was a substitute that day so she didn't get in trouble.

Alex was on her way to class, listening to her iPod and taking her usual sweet time. She was never really worried if she was late or not. Not like she's gotten a detention before. The bell rang then, and just as she turned the corner to her Calculus class, she noticed another girl sprinting inside. "Looks like someone's afraid of a little detention." Alex snorted under her breath, walking in no later than ten seconds after the girl, ignoring the students stares as she took her seat. After a couple strange looks from the substitute, Alex finally pulled out her earbuds and turned off her ear-splitting music, and leaned back in her chair comfortably waiting for the substitute to do his job by taking roll first.

Taking a deep breath Dawn plops down on her seat, she notices that a girl around her age comes in ten seconds after her. Cringing at how load the girls music is, it was a miracle that her ears weren't bleeding. Turning her attention back towards the substitute teacher, she patiently waited for him to call out names. A bunch of grunts , yeahs and here's came from the students surrounding her. " Dawn Vega!" She heard her name being called and replied with a soft 'present' Taking out her notebook to doodle knowing that no work was going to be done today.

As roll went on, Alex kept her same position in her seat, leaned back, with popping her gum in her mouth every minute or so. "Alexandria Alarez?" She heard her name being called out, cringing at the first name. "It's Alex! And I'm over here." she shouted over one of the girls heads which she recognized as the same girl who came in just ten seconds before herself. She smirked, knowing she probably startled the girl with her sudden outburst, and continued chomping on her gum.

Dawn continues to doodle on her notebook until someone behind her shouted startling her, her eye started to twitch a bit. Taking in a deep breath she calmed her self, it work for a few second until she heard the girl behind her chewing on her gum in an annoying fashion. She gently puts her pencil down and turns around to glare at the girl. "Do you have chew like that?"

Alex raised a brow at the girl that gave her a nasty glare. Chuckling in respond, she replied back, "No. But I want to." she said in a nasty tone back to the girl. "Not like its bothering anyone else in here. Guess you just gotta deal with it." she added in, adding in a louder pop followed by a bubble she soon popped after and continued to smack her gum again. She noticed the girl was still looking at her funny, and did a little circuler motion with her finger mockingly. "Better pay attention, sweetheart. Don't wanna miss anything exciting now, do we?" she said in one of her sarcastic tones.
