Sahara was one of the newest students at Riverside high. She wasn't too good at making friends, which would explain why she was sitting at her locker during her lunch period. She had been here for almost two weeks now and hadn't made one friend yet. Persephone, her older sister, would be disappointed, but honestly how was she supposed to make any friends when she couldn't even leave her house without going through a security check? Persephone was taking the whole lockdown thing too seriously. She wouldn't even let Sahara participate in after school activities. Crazy right?
Sahara sighed as she pulled a notebook and pencil out of her messenger bag. She opened the notebook to an unfinished drawing and began to add little details here and there. This sort of became routine for Sahara. Not talking to anyone in any of her classes, being by herself for lunch, and going straight home after school. "Gotta love my life." she whispered sarcastically.

Grady walked towards the lunchroom when he noticed a beautiful,dark brown haired female sitting all alone by herself,scribbling in a book.Grady was also a new addition to Riverside High School , and he thought it was about that time that he started making some friends.His older sister,Camille, bet him fifteen dollars that she would make a new friend in Riverside before him.His Heart skipped a beat , but something in his mind told him to "go for it".He walked over to Sahara smoovely,with his hands in his pocket like a gentleman."Hello sweetheart.What'cha drawing there?"Grady asked while peaking his head into her notebook.

Sahara heard someone approaching but kept her eyes on her drawing. It took everything in her to hold back her laughter. Sweetheart? is this kid serious? she thought, looking up at the boy. He actually was kind of cute. If it weren't for the whole 'sweetheart' thing he would have been cuter. Sahara quickly closed her notebook when she noticed him trying to sneak at look at her drawing. "Don't ever call me 'sweetheart' again. 'Kay?" she said, giving the boy a quick once-over. "And I would tell you, but I don't like nosey people." she added with a shrug. Sahara knew she might have came off as rude, but that's just how she was with people. Part of her wanted to see if the guy could actually handle her; maybe they could even be friends if he could. "I'm Sahara by the way. No nickname, especially not sweetheart." she said with a half smile.

after hearing Sahara's remark,Grady looked at Sahara for about 30 seconds and he began to burst into laughter.He didn't expect Sahara to come at him like that.But he liked girls like that.For some reason , he loved a pretty girl with an attitude.Grady was grinning,showing Sahara his pearly white teeth."Okay, ill be calling you Sahara then." He picked up her left hand and gently kissed it."My name is Grady.Im sorry for coming at you like that but I just cant help seeing a gorgeous girl sitting over here by herself.Now i ain't never see you here before.You knew? i'll be glad to show you around and all that , even though im new myself.Grady began to smile again.

Sahara raised an eyebrow at the boy as he laughed. It really wasn't that funny. She was about to spit out another snarky remark when Grady kissed her hand. She could feel her cheeks burning as she pulled her hand away from him and shook it as if he left spit on it. "Uh, you know what? I'm good. Pretty sure I've been here longer that you, too." she said, still smiling. She couldn't help it. The kid was funny, in a corny way. "I really hope you're not trying to flirt with me because you're doing a terrible job. No offense." She laughed a little.

"Honestly,im trying my best to flirt with you.My sister gave me a list of pick up lines ,but they're corny.Lemme give' you an example.Hold on."Grady began to dig in his shirt pocket.he pulled out a white folded up paper.He unfolded it and slightly tugged at it."Okay.Number one , Girl, you must be tired 'cause you've been running through my mind all day! !"Grady grinned."Numba' two ! Baby, you must be a broom, cause you just swept me off my feet.And you dont even wanna' hear the rest."Grady re-folded the paper and put it back into his shirt pocket."Please , dont laugh at me.i feel real dumb right now.For real."

Sahara smiled as he read her the pick up lines. "God, your sister must hate you or something." she laughed then added "I'd feel dumb too. Those pick up lines were horrible." Sahara looked at the watch on her wrist then sighed. Lunch wouldn't be over for a while, which meant she'd have to either try to make conversation with Grady or be alone for the remainder of her lunch period. "So where did you move here from?" she asked. She had to at least try to get to know someone, so why not this kid.
