Past: Kiet is the older twin, and he is older by ten minutes. Their mother died while giving birth to them, and afterwards, their father starting drinking. He became physically abusive towards both of them, and after a teacher noticed their bruises, she didn't let them return home, instead going through the proper steps to take them as her own children. However, their father had to sign the papers, and he instantly went to the teacher and killed her, taking his sons back.
By this time, child services was on their case, and the twins were taken out of their father's care and put into an adoption agency. They were adopted by the Amato Family at ten years old, and have since grown to be more confident and outgoing.
These days, Kiet is still a little less outgoing than his brother, but loves to make friends and cause trouble with his twin brother. If Kiet didn't like his hair lighter (and it didn't become a requirement from the family), he and Som would love playing "switch;" as they did so often when they first got into the family.
When he got into high school, a friend convinced him to try out for the track and field team, and they both got on. Kiet has since become a little more outgoing as he's gradually made friends on the team.

Som had a phase of "promiscuity," the family is not 100% sure why. He would have fun flirting, and his mind could go into the gutter quite easily. However, (to the relief of the family) after getting into high school, he slowed down his flirting, and by the time he joined the Lacrosse, his flirty nature was completely gone. He is the more outgoing one between him and his brother, and easily made friends with his team mates even though most of them are juniors or seniors.
