As soon as that phone call was made saying the plane would be landing around thirty minutes from now, Toni left the house as soon as he could, dodging through all the traffic, not stopping until he made it to the airport. He was excited. Not because he had succeeded in adopted another child from a reckless life. And not because he had successfully moved his family safely over from the disastrous MABtown up to the wonderful Riverside. Toni was especially excited because he was on his way to picking up his older brother's daughter, his niece. After four years of missing her, Toni is finally going to be able to see that precious seven year old's face again. And she will be living with him too! At least until his brother works out his next plan seeing as he is now unemployed and cannot take care of his daughters needs like he's been able to before. Toni was more than happy to help out his brother and take in Lauryn. He missed her like crazy anyway.
With ten minutes left on the clock until the plane lands, Toni made it into the arrival station in perfect time. He wandered over to the waiting area for guests, not too far from the exit from which Lauryn would be coming out from. He sat anxiously waiting, staring out the window watching plane after plane taking off and landing. Yet there was no Lauryn just yet.
Having that ten minutes finally pass by, as slow as it may seemed, the plane that Toni was waiting for was finally here. Almost immediately, he jumped to his feet, walking near the exit where he already saw people exiting from. Tapping his foot, anxiously and a bit impatiently, he finally spotted that little blonde haired brown-eyed girl walk out towards him accompanied by the flight attendant holding her hand for she was only seven, not to mention her first time on a plane. Toni did a mini wave towards the little girl, with a shout of her name to show that he was here, already waiting for her. Lauryn's eyes grew wide, her mouth growing into an intense smile as she shouted, "Uncle Toni!" waving with her free hand, the flight attendant nodding over to Toni allowing her niece to run ahead to see her long-missed uncle of four years. "Hey there, Lauryn!" he exclaimed, bending down to her level with his arms wide open allowing her to run into him as he squeezed her into one of the biggest hugs he has ever given. "Ohh..that's the hug I've been waiting for. How have you been, Laur?" he asked, stroking the back of her head through her long soft hair she seemed to still have. "I'm good. I missed you though, Uncle Toni!" she squealed, hugging him again, wrapping her arms around his neck, as Toni simply just kissed the side of her head on her temple, adding in, "I've missed you too." he chuckled, glad to know she missed him just as much as he did to her. He could definitely tell that this visit was going to be well worth while. He could feel it.
After grabbing her belongs, Toni led Lauryn out to the car, neither of their smiles ever leaving their face since they've found each other. "How many kids are gonna be there, Uncle Toni?" the chipper little girl asked. Toni set her things in the trunk, getting Lauryn settled in the backseat before answering her question. "Well, Laur, most of the kids at home are older than you. The youngest is almost 14. That is, unless you want to play with two one year old's." he explained, lightly chuckling at the last part while pulling out into the street driving back into town. "I wanna play with little babies! They're cute." she giggled, squirming from all the excitement she was about to get into. "Well, I'm sure it'll be okay with the mother who lives there." he muttered, mostly to himself, as the little girl was staring out the window watching all the fresh new buildings and trees pass by them. Toni glanced behind him with a smile across his lips, he really was glad he could get the chance to really be with his niece. Someone blood-related, really. To Toni, this was the start of an amazing adventure.
