Jade... She paused for a second, the name sounded familiar... "Huh. Then knock yourself out double-one." He gave her a serious look that made her breath catch in her throat; she had noticed he was a cutie but when he looked at her with that somber expression... He was breathtaking. Aya smiled as her heart went back to normal, "Nah, it's for my cousin; she's a chef and a baker and when she's stressed out, like now, she bakes... And bakes... And bakes..." She shrugged as she moved towards the produce section, "My mom told me to buy things for the house because it's pretty empty and if Georgie, that's my cousin, doesn't bake anything, she's going to hurt someone."
She stopped from getting a cellophane for the fruit when he mentioned MABTown. "You're from MABTown? So is my family! Why haven't I seen you before? Well... I have been away for a while so maybe that's why... But I haven't heard of you!" Aya grinned at him, glad to meet someone from her previous town. "You said Jade right? You don't mean Jade Arthur? I know her, she's a friend of Georgie's and I think she went to our cafe a lot."

(damn I'm slow, lol)
Taylor immediately became flustered at Cameron's questions. Even after not being around her for several months, he still had the uncanny ability to see right through her. It was one of the main reasons she had stayed away from him. Around him, there was no way that she could keep her feelings under wraps. She might have been able to with the guys that she was used to dealing with, but Cameron was extremely difficult for her to fool.
Sighing at the feel of his arms wrapped around her, she could feel her plan to avoid him slowly begin to fade away. Then again, the plan only seemed to work when she purposefully avoided places where she knew he'd be, such as house and the coffeehouse that his family owned. She didn't really have a foolproof plan for when she happened to accidentally run into him by chance. "Yes, I missed you," she found herself confessing, hugging him in return. She gave him a quick peck on the cheek and moved away. "Welcome to Riverside," she added with a smirk. "Now if you'll excuse me, I have shopping to do."

Danian groaned. "Yeah, of course you know her. You and the rest of the world. What does she do, wander around with a name tag?" Realising how childish he sounded, he turned away, trying to get rid of the scowl that had appeared on his face.
It wasn't that he didn't love Jade, but for some reason there was a rivalry neither hew nor she was responsible for starting. It was just...there. And it irked him that she was more popular than he was, despite the fact that he'd been there all of a week.
Once his emotions were once more in check, he faced her again and smiled. "Sorry. I forgot for a second that I'm not twelve. Yeah I used to live in MABTown but I moved back to England with my dad not long after my 13th birthday."

Cameron could feel Taylor battling whatever emotions she was feeling as soon as he hugged her and some cheeky part of him triumphed at the confusion he caused her. Maybe he was still enough to melt her resistance and resolve... He hoped it was. Yes I missed you. YES! He felt his insides give a little private victory dance at her confession. The redhead was so happy he almost missed the brief kiss she gave him. He looked down on her, a boyish grin making him look even more gorgeous. "Oh now that wasn't the kiss I was hoping for." He let her pull away from him and took a step back himself, "Well, you aren't getting rid of me that easily! Besides...", he turned and only then realized that Aya had left him to his own devices. Perfect, "Aya's left and I might get lost in this big grocery store... I'll keep you company." He waggled his eyebrows playfully at her and hoped she wouldn't refuse him. She was so much fun... How could he have forgotten that?
Her smile faltered and Aya's expression turned into one of sheer shock and confusion. Um? Oh my god, he's ranting... He's really ranting. She blinked once when she realized he was done and apologizing. Laughing a bit, she shook her head as if to say it was alright, "Yeah I totally understand where you're coming from. I think it's cute that you rant like that though.", she laughed again. "So you were 13 when you moved? How long ago was that? We moved to the town about a couple of years ago so that must have been a while back." She moved ahead of him, grabbing boxes of Strawberries, Raspberries and Blueberries along with other fruit, like Apples for cooking and for eating and Oranges.

Taylor couldn't blame Cameron for being dissatisfied with her brief, fleeting kiss. In the past, they had exchanged much better kisses than that. A small flash of heat flowed through her as she mentally recalled the memories of their steamy, passionate kisses, one of which had taken place in a shower. If they weren't standing in the middle of a supermarket, she might have given into the temptation to taste his mouth once last time. Unfortunately, that could never happen again. Her best bet was to just keep up her charade until she found some random guy at school to get him completely out of her system for good, but she knew fully well that it would take more than just one guy to make that possible.
"Alright, I guess I could use some company," she said, smiling genuinely back at him. "At least until we find your sister." Sure, she needed to stay away from him, but she had missed him so much and would probably wind up hating herself later for passing up the chance to hang out with him. Besides, it wouldn't be for long, just for the length of her supermarket errand, which would probably last ten more minutes at the most. After that, she'd be back at her godmother's beach house and he'd be back to wherever he had come from.

Danian frowned, trying to figure out just how long it had been since he'd left. "About 6 or seven years. It doesn't feel that long though. I couldn't get back into MABTown though when I got over here. The airport was destroyed. I didn't even know where everyone was until Jade called me. That's when I found out Hayden had been...the hurrican hit and he was out driving so.." He stopped suddenly. This was definitely not the time or place to have such a depressing conversation. Especially not with someone he'd just met.
"Sorry. Um, so where in MABTown did you live before you moved away again?"

Cameron grinned at Taylor as if he had just won something big; well maybe he did. He was an idiot when it came to relationships but both of them couldn't deny that there was something between them that he couldn't escape. Content to walk beside her for now, the redhead walked down the cereal aisle and glanced at her, "So... What are we buying? And Ayame's my cousin, not my sister... Though you could oddly say she was my bestfriend. Don't laugh please, I know it sounds silly but yeah... Aya's my bestfriend."Cameron shook his head at the random confession he had just blurted out to Taylor; she probably didn't even care. He briefly hoped that Aya had not forgotten his needs but if she had, he could always get them later, himself.
"Anyway, were you guys badly hurt in the hurricane? I heard there were some people who died; I'm glad our family was spared." He muttered briefly; he was probably tired from the moving but he couldn't seem to bother to act teasingly and flirt with Taylor. Cameron was just glad she was there and that even if it was just for the next ten minutes, he could be with her.
Aya nodded, "Well yeah; my family wasn't in MABTown then. I actually heard about it on the news and my grandfather had to use some of his connections to find my family." She shrugged nonchalantly as if it wasn't a big deal but she had freaked out a lot during that time. She stopped though when Danian spoke about Hayden and she bit her bottom lip hard. "Oh... Yeah, I heard about that too, I just didn't realize you were his brother... I'm really sorry for your loss." The girl looked around for a diversion and smiled when she found one. She took the fruit from where they had placed them in stacks and offered it to Danian with a shy smile. "Does your sister like kumquats?"

Danian grinned, and took the funny looking fruit. "I'm not sure she even knows what it is. So I should probably get a whole bag right?" Tossing it into his trolley, he grabbed a few more. "She really is going to kill me. But it'll be worth it if she never sends me here again." Winking at Aya he snickered. "You'll come with me right? As protection?"

Aya snorted in amusement, Danian was really something else and she found that she was glad she took the grocery assignment on because it meant meeting someone and gaining a new friend. "Sure, why not? Though I find it strange that double-one here would need protection." She shook her head as she pushed on ahead of him and grabbed vegetables for her cart. "So why are you trying to piss off your sister so bad, I mean aside from never being assigned to grocery duty again... When I met her, she seemed nice." She stopped in front of him, her arms full of lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes and the like. "But I can see through to you double-one, if you didn't really care about her and the rest of your family, you wouldn't have come back. But here you are... You're a nice guy after all huh?" She grinned wickedly at him as she dumped the vegetables in the cart and pushed on.

Taylor felt as though she had just been mentally smacked in the head. Granted, she barely knew Cameron's family, only really exchanging brief hellos and polite smiles with them at the coffeehouse and when she passed them on the street, but she still felt as though she should have remembered that the girl was his cousin and not his sister. Another genuine smile formed on her face at his admission that the girl was also his best friend. Given his personality, she had assumed that he had a lot of female friends, but there was something kind of nice about his best friend being his own cousin. "I think that's really sweet," she said honestly. "It's been awhile since I had a best friend. In fact, you're about the closest thing to a friend that I've had recently."
Pushing the cart, she continued towards the cookies, making sure that she got Morgan's Double Stuffed Oreos. "My sisters and I made it out fine and so did most of my family. One of my godmother's relatives died though." Since she barely knew her godmother's cousin, the death hadn't hit her that hard, but it still made her a bit sad. "I'm glad your family made it out too." Trying to think of a way to lighten her mood, she began absentmindedly fiddling with the bracelet on her wrist, only to remember that it was the same bracelet that Cameron had given her for her birthday almost a year ago. She quickly placed her hands back on the shopping cart and began pushing again, making a left at the end of the aisle. "We need paper towels," she added, desperate to change the subject.

Dan cleared his throat and smiled sheepishly. "Uh... Double one doesn't need protection. At home, I'm just Danian, and I really really do." Dan thought for a minute about her question, then grinned impishly. "It's not so much that I have a reason to do it... it's just because I can, and because it's fun. You should see the way she grits her teeth."
Grabbing things off the shelves at random, he followed her once more. "I am a nice guy most of the time. But if you give me a girl job, I'll put in a girl's effort."

Cameron shrugged, a bit relieved that she didn't laugh at him. "Well you get brownie points for even remembering that I have a sister. It's not Aya though; it's Yume. The girl with the dark long hair and the really pale skin? Kinda looks like a vampire actually?" He chuckled at his own joke, smiling at her compliment. "Well Ms. Taylor, you know if you ever need a friend... I'll always be around for you."
He bent his head as he listened and followed her cart. A tiny frown lingered on his features as Taylor spoke of a relative who had been lost in the catastrophe. "I'm really sorry to hear about that; losing relatives even if you weren't close to them is still a sad thing." The redhead noticed her fiddling with a familiar bracelet but chose to say nothing about it even as a tingle of glee ran down his spine when he realized Taylor had kept his gift. Blue eyes scanned the shelves as he looked for the paper towels she was muttering about. "I don't think its on this aisle though."
Aya grinned, so Double-one has a name after all... "And so eldest child, Dan needs protecting from his little sister? Really?" She raised a finely shaped brow and laughed as she grabbed a few things from the next aisle. "I know what that's like though, making a fuss because you can and because there's nothing else to do. My cousin, Cameron... The one who came with me to the grocery... He does that a lot to everyone, but he always gets away with it because my mother loves him to pieces." She patted his shoulder, "Oh I know... I could see 'nice guy' in your eyes." Aya scoffed however at his comment, "What are you implying by that? Putting in a girl's effort? You trying to offend me?" The short haired girl raised both brows at him, waiting for a reply.

Dan grinned cheekily and took a half step back. "No, I wasn't trying to insult you. I was just making an observation about women's behaviour. From hours of watching my little sister get out of her chores one way or another. Whenever my mum asked Mikaela to do anything, she'd start, and then wander around pretending to do it, or pout and H-someone else would do it for her."
Looking down at his almost full trolley, he laughed softly. "I think I'm about done here. Did you need help getting anything else?"

She poked him in the chest and laughed. "Oh I have a bone to pick with you about that! Not all girls work that way; I'll have you know I'll work as hard as any guy in any endeavor that I'm doing. And I don't pout!", with that Aya stuck out her lush bottom lip and pouted at him. Ayame bit back a tiny sigh when she realized her time with Dan was almost up. "Oh? Yeah me too, I just have to look for my cousin here somewhere... Not sure where he ran off to actually." Can I see you again? Please? She shook her head to get rid of the thought before giving Danian a weak grin. "You heading out?"

Taylor nodded her head in agreement. She vaguely remembered Yume, not because of her physical features, but simply because of her name. In her almost nineteen years of life, she had never met anybody named Yume before and she doubted that she ever would again. The name reminded her of 3:10 to Yuma, a movie that her ex-boyfriend had dragged her to see in high school.
She nearly froze at his suggestion that they'd always be friends forever. If there was a way for her to be just friends with him without becoming emotionally attached, she wouldn't have gone through all of the trouble of avoiding him in the first place. The thought of them being just close platonic friends was so unlikely that she found herself giggling unintentionally at the idea. "Thanks," she said seriously, in response to both of his statements. His finally one had really made her think. Despite having known Cameron for over a year, they had never discussed anything serious such as family before. Their conversations were mostly limited to flirtatious innuendos and mundane chit-chat. Venturing into such intimate conversation territory with him made her nervous, even if he was only going to be around for just a few more minutes. "Yeah, you're right" she said, in an attempt to put up another emotional wall between them. "I think the paper towels are further down."
