The car drove along the road, and Jenna was glad she didn't have to drive to the event. Though she was happy to go, she didn't want to worry about drinking too much. Normally she would have to be professional at these things, and mingle with the important people attending. But, tonight wasn't about work, for once. Tonight was about having fun, and kicking off the new year with a bang. She was young, she could have fun and worry about the consequences later. Jenna stepped out of the black car, and smoothed her dress down. She walked along the pavement, intending to go inside, have a few drinks, and maybe do a little dancing. Who knew, maybe she would end up going home with someone. She entered the converted ballroom with bright eyes and a huge smile, the party was in full swing. She made a beeline for the bar, ordering a jack and coke with extra ice. She gave the bartender a smile before turning around, drink in hand, and surveying the room. The music was so loud, she could feel the erotic beat through the glass she held. The New Year's Eve bash was huge this year, and the darkened room was packed with people dancing and laughing.

InTae pulled up to the holiday bash and let out a sigh. He wasn't much of a socialite, and his mother was constantly trying to get him more friends. He adjusted his jacket and locked the car doors, going into the hall. He went to the bar, figuring a drink or two would be helpful. Something about being in a new country intimidated him from speaking with the natives. He recalled his mother just saying it was because he was Korean, and that's how Koreans are. He grabbed a drink, figuring he couldn't go wrong with a simple wine, and looked around, trying to find someone to "make friends" with. What better time to change yourself than on New Years, after all? He thought to himself with a small sigh. He wished he could've brought Lanh, his younger brother was the epitome of a socialite.

Jenna grimaced as she downed some of the beverage, the alcohol biting on its' way down her throat. She didn't drink much, mainly because she was so busy all of the time. Being an agent was a very time consuming job. But, since tonight was somewhat of a special occasion, she said 'what the hell' and decided to let loose. She glanced at the guy in the grey jacket who appeared next to her, who looked like he didn't even want to be there in the first place. She turned to him, a hopeful look in her blue eyes. "Hey," She said, "Wanna dance?" Jenna didn't wait for a reply or even ask him his name, only eyed him before turning and walking away and throwing him a wink over her shoulder. This was the same reasoning, about letting loose, that propelled her into the mass of people, a huge smile on her face, her drink forgotten at the bar. Her laughter trailed behind her as she walked further and further away from him.

InTae couldn't help but be entranced by this girl who had asked him to dance. He followed her onto the dance floor, easily slipping into the basic dances moves that didn't require too much showing off, but enough to show he knew how to dance. "What's your name?" He asked her, feeling even those three words were awkward.

Jenna focused her eyes on him as soon as she saw that he had, in fact, followed her onto the dance floor. She let out a carefree laugh, and moved to the beat. She was by no means a profession dancer in any way shape or form, but she had some experience. Jenna moved in time to the beat, her hands making their way up her body until they were in her hair. She opened her eyes when he spoke, a smile forming on her face. "Jenna." She said simply, moving a little closer so he could hear her properly, "What about you?"

"InTae..." He responded obediently, still dancing casually. He wasn't sure how close he should get to this girl, so he still danced slightly away from her. Although his dance moves were nowhere near awkward, the feeling around him was.

Jenna just nodded, giving him a small smile. She couldn't really tell if he wasn't interested, or if he was just shy, but she could tell that he seemed a little closed off. So, she made it her goal to get him to open up a little. "So, InTae," She began, watching him as a moved. "Why are you alone on New Years Eve?" She smiled and twirled around before facing him again. "You're good looking, so why don't you have a special someone with you?" She knew the line of questioning would probably make him uncomfortable, but didn't really care. Tonight was about being free, with no inhibitions.

InTae could only let out a laugh. "Thank you but... I have no girlfriend." He admitted, letting himself inch a bit closer to her, still dancing casually. "Don't you have a boyfriend? You're so pretty." He asked her, trying to make "normal conversation" that would (hopefully) make him seem less awkward.

Jenna watched, eyeing him curiously. "Hmm..." She said simply, "That's a shame." With a chuckle at his words, she shook her head from side to side. No, she didn't have a boyfriend. She life was too busy for one, and nobody wanted to wait around for her hear in town. None of the men could handle the constant motion her line of work entailed. So, if that ruled out relationships for her, there wasn't much she could do about it. "No, they don't seem to be able to handle me." She told him, winking. "But, thank you."

InTae could only smile, wondering exactly what she meant by that. He continued dancing with her, enjoying the rhythm and mentally thanking DJ (hopefully not too soon) for not playing any slow songs. So far, it was like being in any club, and that sort of dancing, he could do.

Jenna watched him dance, her eyes following his every move. She smirked, laughing at the words of the song that was playing through the huge speakers. Something about grinding up on hoes, sure Jenna loved music, but sometimes she questioned some of the stuff people put out for the world to listen to. That was why she stuck strictly to the small town bands, they were more humble and their music came from the heart, not from the minds of corporate sell-outs. "You're good." She commented, "Do you dance professionally?"

InTae smiled at being called a professional. If only... He thought, "Uh... Thank you. But no, it's just a hobby." He explained shyly. She was pretty good herself, but he couldn't bring himself to say anymore. Curse this lack of ability to speak to Americans. You've been here long enough InTae! He scolded himself. Mustering up his courage with a bit of the lip and deep breath, he told her simply, "You're good, too."

Jenna just shrugged with the compliment, she knew wasn't that good. She didn't even do it often, but she was an expect in running in heels. Being a manager had taught her that one really quickly, especially when you're back stage and have to dodge cords and haphazardly tossed equipment. "What do you do then, InTae?" She asked curiously. She wasn't used to trying to make conversation with shy men, actually, she wasn't used to have to make any effort at all. They kind of just flocked to her. Jenna wondered what a guy like him was going at a party like this one, especially when he seemed to have trouble even making small talk.

InTae let out a small laugh. "I'm in my last year of college, so I'm just working part time at Whole Foods right now." He explained simply. Maybe holding a conversation wouldn't be that hard. He was thinking so hard about making the sentences correct he forgot the most important part of holding a conversation: actually speaking to the other person. "What about you? You look so young, are you in college?" He asked, a warm smile forming. She was so pretty, and she looked pretty young, he wouldn't think she was older than 21 (and even that was mostly because she had been drinking alcohol).

Jenna listened as he spoke, nodding appropriately. She remembered her senior year in college, most of it was spent interning with her favorite label. The other half? Well, it was spent at concerts and in clubs. Jenna was a very social person and loved to be surrounded by people. She gave him a small smile, shaking her head. "I graduated last year, I went to school in LA, but I grew up here in Riverside." She told him. "I'm a journalist for a music magazine, though. My job requires a lot of travel though." This was the catch with her dream job, traveling could get pretty lonely. Sure, she was constantly surrounded by people, but those people happened to be strangers. Despite her need for social interaction, Jenna usually avoided relationships. That was how you got hurt. "I'm twenty-three."
