Aya felt guilty when he scowled and lightly moved her fingers over his shoulder. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to shove you that hard; does it still hurt?" She sighed softly. "Okay, I agree with you on the thinks with his penis part but Dan you have to remember that even if you aren't his full brother, you're still his older brother... The only one he has. He needs you to be honest with him, yes... But he doesn't need insensitivity; I'm pretty sure he gets that from everyone else already."
She gaped at him and pointed her dull butter knife at him in the most threatening way a dull knife could be pointed before setting it down, "Fine. Why don't you ask her on a date instead of me; I can only hope Sirius bites her head off." Aya took a bite of her waffle and groaned. "Okay, nevermind. I'd date that waitress; these waffles are delicious!"

Danian shrugged, his eyes on his plate. "I know that, when I'm not around him. But I just keep seeing Dad in him. I know that's not fair but I can't help him. It's like a genetic thing. I guess it makes me afraid of what I'm capable of too so by lecturing him I'm...I dunno. Making sure that there's a concience for him."
Dan laughed loudly as she brandished the knife at him and held up his hands. "You're so cute when you're jealous Aya." As she set it down he continued with his own food. "Maybe she'll date us at the same time? We could go on a three way date, it'll save time, and save me from being injured."

Aya understood what he meant about Brody needing a conscience. She slid her hand to lightly rub at his arm. "Dan, you have to remember that you're the only male figure in his life right now. If you suffocate him, he's going to look for someone else to fill your shoes and that someone else might screw him up even more. I know it's hard but you have to give him a little room to breathe, or you're never going to work out your issues with Brody."
Aya pouted and stuffed more of the fluffy waffles in her mouth. "I can't promise you that you won't come out of that date alive though." She glanced at the slumbering Sirius as she popped a strawberry in her mouth. "I think I'd rather date Sirius anyway; at least I know he's faithful." She glanced at him and smirked as she took a sip of her drink, absently filching a strip of bacon from his plate. She had never seemed like the jealous type before but for some reason when it was Dan, she couldn't help but be a little possessive.

Dan sighed and nodded. "I guess you're right. Maybe I just need you to be there next time I see him. You can poke me with that knife of yours if I say something too mean. Or maybe I could just tape my mouth shut while I'm around him and just nod when he talks. That'll help right?"
Sirius opened his eyes and gobbled the piece of bacon down like lightening, and stood in front of Aya wagging his tail enthusiastically. Dan glanced at him and sighed, scraping half of his bacon onto the floor. Sirius glanced at it, then turned his head back to Aya and licked her leg.

Aya laughed softly as she took another couple of bites of her waffle, chewing and swallowing before speaking to him again. "Well that wouldn't be awkward at all now would it?" She smiled at him. "You know you can do it right? I have faith in you; all you have to remember is that even if you screw up or he screws up, you're still family and that's the important thing."
Aya giggled at the dog's antics and pointed at the bacon he had ignored. "Come on honey, you should eat Dan's bacon. I'd hand feed it to you but I'm still eating my own breakfast." She grinned and looked at Dan pointedly. "See? This dog is faithful; I'm half in love with him already." She wrinkled her nose at him. "At least I know he wouldn't sell me out for breakfast."

Danian frowned at Sirius, then sighed. "I get it. It's just..I'm not his parent. If Brody wanted that, he could call Dad, or Rae. They're his parents." He turned to look ät Aya and shook his head again. You know, he honestly doesn't play up like this usually...Brody must be seriously mad."
He reached over and lifted the bacon into his hand and held it out for Sirius. Sirius glanced over at the bacon and sniffed it. "Come on man. Peace offering ok?" Sirius stood up, and moved slowly towards the bacon and wolfed it before resuming his place next to Aya.
Dan threw up his hands and went back to his breakfast. "Fine be that way. Aya can bathe you by herself." He glanced over at Aya and grinned slyly, shovelling food into his mouth.

She quirked a brow at Dan. "Dan, would you call your dad for advice? Knowing he's the male version of slut--no offense. Besides; you said you came home to help your family over the loss of Hayden, right? This is an area you could help out in; you could help Brody." Aya grinned and cooed at the giant of a dog, scratching his ears affectionately.
Aya returned the sly look at Dan and shrugged as she leaned closer to Sirius, theatrically whispering to the dog. "Besides, I bet you'd love it if I bathed you; we can bathe together, right Sirius?" She shrugged as she went back to her food, glancing at Dan. "I would have let you watch you know, if you offered to help. But I guess it's just me and Sirius."

Danian nodded glumly. "I guess that's my loss isn't it... Lucky dog, you get to bathe with my-er..Aya." He flushed lightly and polished off the rest of his breakfast, avoiding her eye contact. You haven't asked her to be your girlfriend! What if she freaks out now and vanishes?
He glanced at her coffee and raised an eyebrow. "Are you gonna drink that or not?"

She finished her breakfast almost as quickly as Dan did, absently eating the last strawberry as she glanced at Dan. "Your Aya huh? If I'm anyone's Aya, I should be Sirius'. He's stolen my heart, he really has.", Aya laughed and took her coffee, putting a little sugar into it before stirring absently. "I drank some of it already you know... Though I don't much fancy burning my tongue with coffee so I usually wait till it's cold to drink it." Aya grinned at him, "I have weird habits, I know." She sipped it, nodding since it was almost lukewarm as she finished it in one go. Aya licked her lips and smiled at him. "I was kidding you know... You can call me yours anytime you like."

Danian slipped his arm around her as she talked, trying not to wrinkle his nose as she drank her cold coffee. "That stuff doesn't even taste good hot, let alone cold. Why don't you get something yummy?"
He smiled broadly as she told him he could call her his, and leaned his head against hers. "Perfect. You know that's all I'm going to call you now right? Even as an introduction. Just go "Oh, yeah she's mine." His eyes twinkled as he kissed her nose. "Come on, if you're done we'll walk Sirius home."

Aya snorted in amusement at the disgust, clearly shown on Dan's face. "Coffee is yummy to me, Dan. You're just going to have to deal with that aren't you?" She closed her eyes briefly when he rested his head against hers, laughing when he mentioned how he'd introduce her to people. "Don't you dare; I'll kick you in the shins if you even think about doing that." She turned to face him and grinned. "Yeah and then Sirius and I can have our bath." She stood slowly, offering Sirius her hand as she lightly petted him. "Come on buddy, you and I have a date."

Danian grinned, and poked her side. "I think I'll take that risk just to see if that really happens." Man she's amazing. "Just kidding, I promise I won't introduce you as mine. I'll just bring that up pretty early in the conversation."
Sirius stood as Aya did, and shook himself all over. Licking her hand, he continued wriggling his body in excitement. Dan sighed and stood up, extending the leash to Aya. "I really give up now. Maybe once Brody and I are back on speaking terms, so will Sirius and I."

Aya rolled her eyes. "Fine; I'm not going to be responsible for any injuries you'll acquire when you hang around me though." She grinned and took the leash of the hulking dog, lightly tugging on him to keep him from running anyone over. "Hopefully Sirius will still love me more than he'll love you when you're forgiven." Sirius couldn't wait anymore and though Aya could tell he wanted to get out already, he stood waiting for her. Aya grinned and started walking, laughing at the energetic pace Sirius set.
She paused by the door of the diner, waiting for Dan to finish paying for their meal before heading out. Aya laughed at Sirius who seemed to dislike waiting for Dan. "Come on buddy, I know he messed up a bit but he's a good guy over all right?" She knelt down to scratch Sirius' ears. "I think I might just have feelings for him... The deep kind, you know?" Aya whispered as she gave the dog a big hug.

As Dan paid for their breakfast, he glanced over at the doorway and had to smile. For such a tiny girl, she was holding Sirius in check amazingly well. He chuckled to himself as she bent down to hug him. Passing notes over the counter, he turned back just as Sirius licked Aya's cheek again.
"Come on then buster. I guess we're gonna have to run home so that Brody doesn't know I fed you bacon instead of gross dog food this morning huh? Don't want you getting fat now do we?"
Sirius snorted, and started out the door, straining on his leash. Dan followed quickly, placing his hand around Aya's for extra hold on the leash. "When he gets running he's pretty hard to stop. You ok with that?"

She stood as Dan approached them in grinned. "How can it be even possible for this dog to get fat? He runs and plays all day it seems." Aya blushed when she saw Dan cover her tiny hand with his and she grinned at him. "I'll be okay; you're here with me after all." They started walking and she laughed a bit. "Isn't it a good thing that this town's small enough that most of the places are walking distance?" Aya looked straight ahead; she was tempted to keep looking at Dan but that would probably end in teasing or into Sirius dragging her along the road. She stopped at a crosswalk and bit her lip. She hoped Sirius would behave himself as she quickly stood on her tiptoes to give Dan a swift kiss.
