Xander sighed softly as he picked up the things for his date with Collins, easily lifting all the items --2 picnic baskets, numerous candles, a blanket, etc and carefully putting each of the things into the trunk of his Honda Civic one by one. He smiled, a bit excited for the things he had prepared. He needed to set up everything on the beach before picking her up from school so though it was still pretty early, he got into his car and made his way to the beach where he put all the things he had brought from home to the beach area right near his house. He set up the blanket, using the two picnic baskets to keep it from fluttering in the wind and put numerous white hurricane candles around, deciding to light them when they arrived later. Once he was satisfied with the ambiance, he stood up, brushed his hands on his jeans before making his way to his car. It was time to pick up Collins.
He drove to the school pretty quickly, even if he was nervous. Xander wasn't really sure why he was nervous though but he was; he didn't want to blow his first date with Collins and more importantly, he didn't want to disappoint her. He shook his head as he pulled into the school and ran a hand through his hair as he waited for Collins to show up.

Oh goodness the things Collins did to prepare for this date before she left for school. She set her alarm clock early to shower and do her hair, make up, pick out a nice outfit that wouldn't wrinkle during the many hours of sitting. She packed makeup, makeup remover, a hair brush, her flat iron, deodorant, and a number of other items that she might need in case something drastic happened during the day to ruin the look she'd so carefully crafted. When she went out to meet Grady and Garret she had a dress on a hanger to hang in the backseat just in case her outfit got messed. Garret laughed at her and told her she was being dumb, secretly she agreed with him, she wasn't usually like this, preparing so much for something that wasn't going to be competitive.
At the days end she felt even more stupid, nothing went aery (SP). She passed off the things she didn't need to Grady and went out to the front of the school to meet Xander. She was still beating herself up when she walked out of the front doors and paused at the edge of the sidewalk to look for him. Her face erupted in a huge smile when she spotted him sitting in his car. She waved and then started toward the car.

Xander grinned when he found her and waved back before opening the door for her. "Hey; I was beginning to think you ditched me or something." He quirked a brow and chuckled to show that he was teasing. "I hope you don't mind rolling around in the sand." He shrugged lightly before smiling at her again. "We're going to the beach." Xander hoped she enjoyed it but then again she had mentioned that she liked the water a lot, so he wasn't too worried.

Collins wrapped her arms around him before getting into the car. "I never would have ditched you." She grinned, she knew he was teasing. "As long as I'm spending time with you I'm perfectly alright with rolling around in the sand." She raised an eyebrow though because that sounded a little suggestive, which was alright, but a little nerve wracking because she didn't think he was thinking that way.

Once Xander got in and had put on his seat belt, he drove towards the beach, glad that the weather wasn't too cold. The sun was still out but sunset was fast approaching and he was glad. Once they had arrived, he got out and opened the door for Collins, offering her his hand. "Okay, I'm going to need to blindfold you for a while, but I'm going to lead you anyway, so will you be fine?", He paused and took out the blindfold from his pocket before smiling at her. "You trust me, right Collins?"

"I trust you." She said, taking the blindfold out of his hand and tying it around her eyes securely so she couldn't see a thing. "I can't see a thing and you can test it if you'd like." She found his hand and gave it a little squeeze. "I'm so excited, I can hardly wait." She squealed a little and bit her bottom lip. "You're so awesome, Xander, and I haven't even gotten out of the car yet."

Xander chuckled as she took the blindfold from him and tied it to cover her eyes. "Well I hope I don't disappoint you." He easily scooped her up in his arms, preferring to carry her then to actually guide her, knowing with his great navigation skills, the both of them would end up tripping on a rock. "Hold on tight.", he murmured softly as he closed the door with his foot and made his way to the area he had prepared for them. Xander set her down on the large blanket and quickly stood up to light the candles he had placed around them before sitting down beside her again. He took a deep breath and bit his bottom lip a bit nervously. "Okay, you can take off the blindfold now."

Collins seriously doubted he could disappoint her and was just about to express this to him when she was lifted into his arms. She wrapped her arms around his neck, expecting him to put her down and then she tightened her arms around him, when she realized he wasn't going to. She felt the blanket beneath her when he set her down and listened closely to her surroundings, she heard the waves obviously, but she also heard the click of the lighter as he lit the candles. "Candles, you're going all out huh?" She grinned. "You don't have to try so hard with me." She pulled the blindfold off when he said so and smiled at all his fine details. "I'm spoiled."

Xander chuckled at her reaction and felt instantly relieved that she liked it. "You like it then?" He grabbed one of the picnic baskets and took out plastic containers filled with food that Georgiana had specially made for the two of them. "You better give Georgie a big hug if you see her around school. She made all of this for us.", he added with a soft laugh. He grabbed one sandwich and took a bite, chewing and swallowing before saying. "Help yourself, they're really good." He crossed his legs as he used his free hand to take out a thermos full of fresh lemonade and two paper cups. "So how was school? I heard from a little bird that you were kinda stressing out today."

"I do." She watched him take the sandwich filled container out of the basket. "I will, promise." She made a mental note to do just that and then took a sandwich for herself. "Who exactly is this little bird you know? School was just fine. I was anxious about our little date tonight and might have over prepared for it, but school was fine. What about you?"

Xander chuckled. "Okay, I guess you were as anxious as I was then... And my little bird was my little sister who texted me at lunch to tell me about you spazzing over our date or something... Her words not mine." He grinned at her; Xander still couldn't imagine someone like Collins freaking out over a date with him, but apparently she had and for some reason, he found that really cute. "School was fine; I only had a couple of classes today so I actually got out pretty early." He watched her for the briefest of moments before turning his gaze to the setting sun. He smiled at it, a bit in awe at the beauty the ball of fire seemed to bring as it splashed across the horizon like a colorful explosion of reds and oranges.

"I was, but I don't know why, I'm so comfortable with you and I guess I forgot that. I'm sure you don't care what my hair looks like or about my outfit, but I lost sight of that detail." She turned to watch the sun set as well and started to chow down on her sandwich. "I can't wait to get out of high school and into college. I mean the idea of getting out of school at noon is so attractive it almost gives you a run for your money."

Xander shrugged, she was right. He didn't care what she did because he was pretty sure he'd like her in any way that she presented herself to him. Collins was just that important. He chuckled at her comment about college. "Well it's still school; and trust me the first few sems are nice because you feel free, doing whatever you want with all the free time you suddenly have. But then it gets boring. You have nothing to fill your time with and it just gets... unbelievably boring. But I don't find it so boring anymore.", he added. He had found the free gaps between classes boring but ever since he had met Collins, he found he had a better use for his time.

Collins smiled. "I'm sure I won't have a hard time filling those boring free moments. Yeah most people probably say that, but I will need to get a job, so whatever time I'm not spending in class, on homework, or with you, I'll be spending at work." She continued to consume her sandwich, but she was no longer watching the sky explode in color, she was watching him. "I know you don't need a job, but have you considered it? Even just a couple of hours a week, might help with the boring segments of time that I can't fill."

Xander grinned at her. "Glad to hear it, Collins." He took out another plastic container filled with fat strawberries that had been dipped in milk and white chocolate. "I'm waiting for my godmother to open up her shop here. I promised I'd work for her for a bit in my spare time." He shrugged. "I always thought of getting a job, but it seemed a bit rude to get one and just quiet when she got her store right? So I just decided to wait for her to open her store and work for her." Night had fallen around them but it still seemed pretty bright because of all the candles that were burning around them.
