Alex had woken up earlier than usual even without the help of her alarm clock, simply because she was excited. She had taken the time to practice her basics on the patio in the backyard in her pajamas, going through the positions as gracefully as one could in a tank top and pajama bottoms. No matter if she was awake earlier than usual, her godmother Kris was still ahead of her and was nursing a mug of hot coffee when she stepped into the kitchen. She took breakfast with her godmother before going upstairs to take a shower and change into a neon green bikini before tugging on a pair of denim shorts and a white shirt. She slipped her feet into a pair of black flip flops before making her way downstairs back to the kitchen where a picnic basket with a blanket and food had been placed by the ever aware Georgiana. Alex peeked into the basket and grinned at the sandwiches, thermos of coffee and fresh baked donut holes that she found. She shook her head in amusement as she picked up the basket and made her way to the beach. It was quarter to 9 and though she was running a little late, she still took the time to walk slowly towards the beach.
Once Alex was there, she set her basket in the sand and kicked off her flip flops, sighing at the feel of the warm sand beneath her toes. She eyed the water and was tempted to dive in but she didn't, instead she did a very 'Alex' thing to do. She remembered the last song she had truly danced to and she danced.

Seth found both he and Aithne had a hard time sleeping that night. On more than one occassion Aithne came into Seth's room, unable to sleep. They'd finally fallen asleep though, but morning came much too soon. Or not soon enough Seth tried to decide as he packed Aithne's beach bag. He was sure she would want to go swimming so he made sure she wore her swim suit underneath her skirt and t-shirt. As for him, he wasn't planning on getting into the water much, so he wore only some sweats and a t-shirt, his hoodie on as well.
"Aithne?" He called. "Coming!" The little girl bounced down the stairs, a bit hyper for almost 9 in the morning. "We're running late. Come on." Seth took his sister's hand and they began to make their way to the beach. Making it there, he noticed Alex had beat them to it. And of course, she was dancing. Just like yesterday. Seth mused to himself as Aithne let go of his hand and began running towards the older girl. "Alex~" She squealed happily. Seth walked slowly, stopping where Alex had placed her basket and shoes and sat, placing his bag on the ground as well.

Alex!
The familiar squeaky voice moved her out of her trance and she turned to give the girl a big hug. "Good morning you guys." She glanced at Seth and winked before turning her attention back to the little girl before her. She put her hands on her hips and pretended to be angry. "You're late, missy." Alex grinned and took off her shirt, tossing it towards her slippers. "You wanna swim with me? I've been wanting to dive in since I got here but I wanted to wait for you." She pointed at Aithne's big brother. "Is he swimming?"

Aithne returned the hug with a smile. "Swimming~" She quickly shed her t-shirt and skirt and looked back over at Seth. "I don't think so. Big brother doesn't swim a lot. I don't think he knows how." Seth smiled and nodded his head towards Alex when she winked at him. When she took off her shirt, he realized they were going to go swimming and he proceeded to slip off his jacket, leaning back against his elbows. He would wait here until they were finished.

Alex laughed at Aithne's confession and made sure to find out later if the boy did swim or not. "There's some food in the picnic basket if you want.", she called out to Seth as she took Aithne's hand and ran into the water, gasping and laughing as the cool water lapped at her skin. She made sure she stayed near the shore however to be close to Aithne and she glanced at the sky, grinning at the warm sun that beat against her bare shoulders and back. "Don't go too far, alright Aithne?"

"Okie~" Aithne said, walking into the water much slower. She grinned as she made her way a little less than waist deep and giggled. "Alex~ Watch this!" She called. Squatting down on her knees, Aithne began to float on her back. That is, until she accidently splashed herself in the face and stood back up, sputtering. She laughed again and then turned to Alex with a big smile.
Seth watched the two girl swim with a smile. It was true, he had no idea how to swim but he did enjoy watching others have fun. He glanced into the basket, looking at the food she had brought. He wasn't too hungry so he didn't take any, but he was glad he had brought some juice for Aithne. Feeding a seven-year-old coffee wouldn't fair well.

Alex watched the girl float and laughed when she accidentally splashed herself. She moved just a bit farther, making sure Aithne was still in her sight. "So Aithne...", she trailed off and lightly splashed the girl, giggling softly. She moved to tie her hair up, to keep it from getting too wet. "Is your brother interested in anyone?" Her cheeks flushed and she felt extremely guilty for getting information from Seth's little sister but she was curious. Not that last night wasn't an indication of Seth's interest in her... Alex just wanted to be sure.

Aithne giggled when Alex splashed her, splashing her back. "Huh? Interested? Like a girlfriend?" Aithne's eyes furrowed. "No. Seth doesn't really talk to girls." Her eyes sparkled and she held a finger to her lips. "I think he likes you though. He kept smiling at you yesterday."

Alex laughed and splashed the girl lightly again. "Well he keeps smiling at you, but that doesn't mean he likes you that way too right? He probably just thinks I'm a good friend, especially since I like his little sister so much." She waggled her eyebrows playfully at Aithne. "Are you going to start school soon?"

Aithne fell into a fit of giggles. "Ewww, he's my brother! He can't like me like that! 'Sides, I know Big brother likes you cuz he stayed up all night cuz he was excited to see you." She smiled excitedly at her next question. "Yeah~ Big brother says once every gets settled he'll register me for school." She pouted a bit. "I was 'sposed to start the first grade already but cuz we had to moe I couldn't."

Alex's cheeks flushed at the information Aithne had suddenly revealed. "Oh really?" She laughed with her and tried to cover up her embarrassment; she was happy that he liked her because she liked him as well. She just hoped she didn't jump too quickly, she wanted to take things slowly for a change though that seemed silly to think about since she practically jumped him the night before. "Well that's good! I'm sure you're going to make a lot of friends."

"Mhm." Aithne nodded. "I hope so. I like making friends. Like you and Big brother!" She giggled, grniing up at Alex. Her stomach chose then to start growling, which caused her to fall into another fit of giggles. "I guess we forgot to eat breakfast." She said between laughs.

Alex shook her head in amusement and easily lifted the girl like a sack of potatoes over her shoulder as she rose. It wasn't that she was that strong but Aithne was just that tiny. She shook her head again and made her way back to Seth. "Your sister is hungry." She set down Aithne by Seth before taking the blanket she had brought and unfolded it on the sand so they could sit. She took her towel and began to dry her hair as she sat down on the edge of the blanket, smiling at Seth.

Aithne gasped and then squealed in surprise when Alex lifted her and began carrying her to where Seth was. She giggled all the way there, plopping next to Alex after she brought the blanket out. Seth sat up, having dozed off a bit and blinked a couple of times before registering what was said. "Hmm? Oh, here." He pulled Aithne's towel out of her bag and tossed it to her, causing it to land draped over head. He chuckled a bit as he pulled the basket towards the middle of them and opened it. "Donuts~" Aithne said, pulling the towel around her shoulders after she had dried her hair. Seth grabbed a juice box from the beach bag and handed to Aithne, but not before giving her some hand sanitizer. He pulled a napiken from the bag as well and placed a sandwich and a few donuts on it, handing that to Aithne as well. He glanced up at Alex and smiled. "Are you hungry as well?"

Alex grinned at Aithne's reaction and blinked at Seth, shaking her head when his question finally registered in her mind. "No thanks, maybe later." She moved a bit closer to him to grab her shirt by the end, dragging it across the blanket before slipping it on. Alex was glad that the sun was out, it meant that she dried a lot easier than if it had been a cloudy day. "So is it true you can't swim? Because I may not be as good a swimmer as my twin brother, but I'd love to teach you sometime." She winked at him and shook her head in amusement.
