"Kitty! Kitty!" Beginning to get tired, Loki flopped down onto the sand beneath him. He'd been looking for his little pet cat for hours now and she was nowhere to be seen. He'd checked the park, the streets... everywhere. Feeling tears welling up in his eyes, the little boy hugged his knees to his chest. There were quite a few people around but no one was stopping to help him and that just upset him further. Scrunching up tighter in his little ball, Loki began to cry.

Steering their way onto the beach, Caden pedaled faster on his bike with little Jayson and their dog Dixie in the wagon he was pulling behind. Once they reached the sand area, Caden screeched his tires to a stop, leaving a black skid mark behind, he hopped off, immediately running onto the beach, kicking up sand everywhere while the other little boy struggled to keep up. "Caden, wait! I can't run that fast!" he shouted, running as fast as his little feet could take him while the little dachshund, Dixie, ran up ahead barking aloud finally catching up to the eight year old devil. With Jayson now given up, dragging his feet in the sand now, he couldn't help but notice another little boy seeming about their age, given the size of him, and he was crying. Jayson wandered up to this strange boy slowly, not wanting to startle him in anyway. "Why you crying? I thought the beach is suppose to be for fun, not for crying!" he tried cheering him up in his little high-pitched squeal, as it did most of the time with his family.

Hearing a voice, Loki looked up and wiped the tears from his eyes. "S-sorry." He sniffed, "I-I lost my Kitty and I can't find her anywhere." He tried looking around again in the hope that the little cat had appeared suddenly, but unfortunately not. His pet had a habit of getting lost very often, and it always very worrying for the boy. He stood up shakily, attempting at least a small smile. "W-will you help me find her?"

Jayson frowned at the little boy. He just couldn't imagine what would happen if he lost Dixie. He and his family had already gone through a lost with their previous elder dog a while back. He was glad that this pet was just missing and not completely gone. "Aw...I'll help you!" he chirped, pulling the strange boy back up onto his feet, with a smile of his that seemed to never disappear. "Maybe my doggy can help sniff her out. She's a really good sniffer." he suggested as an afterthought, almost forgetting who he came here with in the first place.

Loki smiled again, rubbing at his eyes to get rid of any last traces of tears. "Thank you. B-but...don't dogs eat cats? I don't want my Kitty to get eaten..." He glanced around quickly, looking for the cat but again with no success. "I don't know where to look, I think I looked everywhere and I can't find her..." The smile faded again for a moment. When it returned it was a little smaller than before, "What's your name? I'm Loki."

"Nuh-uh! Dixie would never eat kitties!" Jayson very well explained excitedly, as usual. "That's my doggy's name. Dixie. She's the small one over there playing fetch with my brother." he said, pointing out to the small, red dachshund jumping up in the air to catch the tennis ball thrown for her. Jayson giggled. "Isn't she cute?" Until he realized he hadn't introduced himself yet. "Oh. I'm Jayson. I'll help you find your kitty, Loki. C'mon!" he shouted, grabbing the boy's hand and pulling him over to where Caden and Dixie were. "Caden! I need to use Dixie for a kitty hunt!" he shouted over to his brother, who furrowed his eyebrows at first, before realizing that Jayson had brought over someone new. He ran over to meet up with them both, with Dixie following happily behind, jumping all over Jayson next. "Why do we need a kitty hunt?" Caden asked, confused as of what was going on suddenly. "This Loki. He lost his kitty somewhere and I said Dixie would be perfect to sniff for her. She has really good nose." Jayson said, pointing the last part out more to Loki than Caden. "Um, okay. Where should we start looking first?" Caden asked, Jayson looking up at Loki again for an answer.
