Heather took a deep breath, tucking a strand of her blonde hair behind her ear. Macy was shouting and squealing at their house because of them moving. She was in a mood. Squealing and shouting. Heather sighed, sipping her coffee. She was engaged in New York, and was going to get married when she was dumped. Right off on the side of the street like garbage. Her boyfriend had met somebody else. Heather bit her lower lip at the thought. Don't cry, she thought. But she was engaged. Heather felt like garbage. Maybe she'd meet somebody else in Riverside, but she doubted it. Maybe she needed friends to help her up. She had lots of friends back in New York that picked her up when she fell down. Oh, but they were in New York City. Not Riverside, like her and her family. But it was fine. Heather could pick herself up if she wanted. But she couldn't stop feeling like trash after being dumped by her boyfriend.

Lindsey's been busy lately, what with her newfound job and reuniting with her sister in this small town. She figured she could use some alone time anyway. Perhaps even make a new friend or two. She had already met one other, who just so happened to help her land that new job of hers, not to mention, it was a rather cute guy that had done so as well. She thought she could use some girl friends though. Other than her sister that is. She meandered into the coffee shop, which seemed rather crowded this time of day, hardly anywhere to sit. After purchasing her coffee then, she wandered around the shop searching for a table to rest at. She couldn't find any empty table to sit at, but there was one table with just one other girl sitting at. She walked over to that one, smiling at the girl when she politely asked, "Excuse me. You mind if I sit with you?"

The girl looked up as she heard a voice. A small smile appeared on her face, "No, it's fine." she told her, setting the coffee down on the table. Heather offered her hand in a shake, like she did when she met a new person, "My name's Heather McGinty." she told him, biting her lower lip. She wasn't about to let an opportunity to make friends slip through her fingers just because of her ex-boyfriend. No, I'm not. she thought. She really did need friends. She hadn't hung around much with other people. Heather wasn't the popular type of girl, but some friends would be nice. Some to pick her up when she fell down. Heather bit her lower lip. "Um, nice to meet you." she said, a small smile appearing on her face. Maybe she would be able to make friends here in Riverside...hopefully. She couldn't be all alone. Heather picked up her coffee in the other hand, taking a sip of it, and a deep breath.

Lindsey smiled and nodded when the girl agreed to have herself as company, and sat down across from her. "Hi Heather. I'm Lindsey." she greeted back, extending her hand out to return the shake before returning her hand back to her cup of coffee, taking a small sip of it before continuing. "Nice to meet you too." she said so confidently, noticing then that Heather didn't seem too outgoing like Lindsey was herself. She thought this would be a perfect opportunity to make a new friend, and maybe even boost up another's confidence, like Lindsey was known for doing. "So, have you lived here long?" she finally asked, taking another sip of her coffee after.

Heather smiled at the Lindsey. "Uh, not long..." she started, "Two days." Heather had lived in New York City for her whole life. Riverside was quite different, being much smaller. Heather liked it. It was quiet. And, she was away from her boyfriend, meaning she didn't have to see his face around the city. He had lived across the street from her--it would be awkward if the two saw each other. "What about you?" she asked her, biting her lower lip. Ugh. I hope I don't mess this up, she thought. Heather wasn't good with first impressions. Usually, she messed up on things and ruined everything. Her friends in New York have been with her forever. They could really be described by, friends, forever. But Heather needed to make some friends in Riverside, she was going to be living here.

Lindsey had taken another sip of her drink when Heather responded back to her. She nodded with the smile still showing on her lips when she answered back, only slightly surprised, "Oh, really?" she set her drink down, not taking her eyes off of this girl. "Well, I haven't really lived here long either. It's probably been around two weeks since I officially moved to this town." she admitted, looking down slowly, to fiddle with her fingers on her cup before looking up brightly again. "So..how do you like it here so far? I mean, I know its only been two days...but, I mean, from just those two days, have you seen anything that interests you?"
