"Thanks for driving me Kai; I really need to get a car.", Alex muttered to herself as an afterthought. Kai smiled at her. "It's not a big deal, Alex. I've been designated driver for everyone in my family since... Well, since I learned how to drive really. Besides, I have some things I need to do and the gym was right by it. It's really not a big deal." They had arrived at the gym and the girl grinned at Kai, giving him one of her rare heartfelt smiles before opening the door and getting out. "I'll go home by myself!" Kai nodded and waved as Alex closed the door and made her way to the studio.
She arrived at the lobby of the gym, setting down her black duffel bag and signing herself in before asking for directions. Alex picked up her bag after thanking the counter-lady as she made her way to the studio. Once she was in the dance studio, she heaved a sigh of relief, setting down her bag by one end of the studio where the sound system was set up. The girl sank down on the floor gracefully as she rifled through her bag for her iPod. "Aha!", she muttered to herself once she had finally found the purple Nano. She plugged it into the system and put on her dance mix.
Alex grinned in an almost feral manner as she removed her black boots and took out her toe shoes, easily putting the black pointe shoes on. Once she finally stood, she removed her slate-colored pea coat and put it on top of her bag. She stayed in the middle of the room and faced the mirror, and adjusted the olive green wrapper she was wearing before taking position, en pointe.

Sora had beem to the gym before but he hadn't been in the dance studio yet so he decided to grab his ipod and check it out. When he got to the door he heard music already playing so he slowly opened the door a hair and looked in. He saw her dancing and smiled thinking wow she's good, she looks so flawless he accidently lost his balance and the door opened farther as he caught himself.

Alex's eyes were trained on her image in the mirror, watching every step and turn that she took, wanting to nit-pick any flaws in her movements. The song changed to a more upbeat jazzy remix of one of the classical songs that she danced ballet to and she changed dance styles, trying the popping and locking moves that her good friend and dance instructor, Allison, had taught her before she left.
She was in mid-spin when she heard the door open and she slipped and fell on her behind. "Oomph." Alex stayed on the floor for a minute, her eyes shut before she recovered and turned to glare at the perpetrator. "What was that for?" Alex stood up hastily and brushed herself off before walking to her iPod and shutting off the music.

Sora stood up again "I'm sorry! I didn't mean to interupt you. I was going to use the studio but you were in here first so I just decided to watch. Sorry." he rubbed the back of the neck

Alex sighed softly and blew at her long hair that had started to cover her eyes. She checked the slim black watch on her left wrist and was surprised to find out that she had been dancing none stop for an hour. She wanted to dance a bit more but with the intrusion, she decided to give the boy his time to dance. She removed her iPod from the dock and gave him a quick gesture as if to let him go ahead. "Go ahead; I'll get out of your way."

Sora looks at her "You don't have to do that, I can just come back later." He shrugs "I don't dance that much anyways." he puts his hands in his pockets and takes a step back

A frown furrowed the girl's brow; this boy was really starting to irk her. "No, really; you stay. I'll leave. I've been here for more than an hour." She didn't want to add that if he hadn't disturbed her, she would still be dancing and that she had lost her momentum when he tumbled in. She ran her fingers through her long curly hair, quickly combing them before tying her hair into a messy bun atop her head.

Sora plugged in his ipod as she put her hair hair up. He scrolled through his songs and decided to play 'Leave Out All the Rest' by Linkin Park. He hit play and went over to the center of the room. He started dancing to it mixing up different dance routines his brothers and sisters had taught him and began to forget she was even in the room.

Alex leaned against the door frame, curious as to what the boy, who was probably much younger than her, could do. She set her bag back down on the floor and crossed her arms over her chest as she watched him dance to the beat of the familiar Linkin Park song. She raised a fine brow, clearly impressed at what he could do, a tiny smile found its way to her lips as she watched the boy. He was quite good for a kid of probably 16 or 17. She tilted her head and watched his turns, pops, locks and every single movement that his body made, her blue eyes watching them critically.

When the song ends he goes to find another one and sees her "Oh, you're still in here. Do you need something?" he fiddles with his ipod

Alex shook her head and smiled a bit. "No, I don't need anything. I was just watching. You know..." She set her bag and coat on the floor and walked over to the middle of the floor where he had been. "If you extended your arms and legs a bit more when you reach out." She did the motion gracefully. "There's more drama, it looks better. And, if you want to spin..." She tucked her appendages in and spun quickly. "You spin faster. You're good but you still need a lot of practice." Her eyes had a condescending glint of amusement in them. "And a lot of work."

Sora watches her listening to her tips "oh, cool, thanks." He smiles "So you dance a lot I geuss. I've got some siblings that take like 4 to 6 classes a week. They're way better than me."

Alex raised a brow. "Well I wasn't talking about your siblings; they may be good but I'm sure I'd still be better." She said with a cocky laugh. She didn't really mean to be condescending but she wanted to show this kid that it didn't matter what his siblings did because if he really wanted to be good, he could be. "Why don't you play that song again and try the tips." She encouraged softly. "I'll even dance with you."

He shrugs "Alright" he grabs his ipod and starts the song over again thinking 'She must be really serious about dancing. She would make a good instructor.' as he went back towards the middle of the room and began the same combinations keeping in mind the tips she had given him

Alex watched the boy move and she found herself smiling a bit as she noticed how he had slightly improved because of her tips. She joined him by the chorus, surprised that she had memorized his dance steps by just watching. The song was slower than most songs she would dance to but somehow the choreography blended well with its beat. She shrugged it off and focused on their reflections in the mirror. Not bad.
