"Momma, I thought we were gonna go to the park..." pouted the red-headed little boy, grasping onto his mother's hand tightly. Jayde giggled, smiling lightly. "I thought we try somewhere different, Kam." she said sweetly to the shy boy, whom was now sucking his thumb on his free hand. "I even brought some bread to feed the ducks if you want." she added in, holding up a bag in her other hand to him. "Mm..okay." he mumbled out shyly, his thumb still in his mouth.
Once they made it down to the lake, Jayde managed to slip her hand out of Kameron's grasp to sit on the grass and open up the bread bag and start tearing it in little pieces. "You wanna help, baby?" Kameron nodded his head simply, and plopped down next to his mother, and grabbed one of the slices and started tearing off little pieces as well. "That enough?" Jayde nodded sympathetically and poured her pieces of bread into his pile. She then grabbed a small handful and tossed some out towards a gathering of birds which soon swarmed all over the bread pieces. Kameron had a good laugh at that, and that made Jayde happy to see that. Kameron did the same as his mother did and grabbed a handful of crumbs and threw them in the same direction, watching all the birds swarm around the food again. "This is fun!" he giggled, tossing a few more. "I thought you'd like that. Why don't you go feed some of the birds in the water?" she suggested next. "Here, take this handful, and just toss a few at a time into the water and see if they take it. Alright?" Kameron hesitated at first, but figured he'd give it a try. He toddled over to the edge of the hill, and started throwing bread crumbs in the water, squealing and giggling each time a bird ate one. Jayde just sat in the grass, and watched her son have a good time. With her working her ass off, and having to leave him at daycare, they haven't had much time together lately. She was just glad that Kameron was so forgiving to her, though, which made her smile even wider at that thought.

"Come on little man!" Cole said to the blonde child as he unbuckled him from his car seat. Picking the boy up by his sides, he lifted him up onto his shoulders and instructed Julian to hold on as he bent and picked up the fishing poles. Cole and his nephew did this every few weeks, a guys day. Sometimes Tad tagged along, but usually it was just the pair of blondes. It didn't really matter what they did, sometimes it was going out for ice cream and others it was just watching a football game at home. Today though, they had set out intending to go fishing. After getting everything settled in his arms, they set out, leaving the paved parking lot behind for the wooded path. "Cole?" Julian asked, "How do the fishies breathe if we take em out of the water?" "They don't, kid. We take them home and cook them." "Like fish sticks?" The boy asked, his nose scrunching up." "Yeah, but better." "I done like fish sticks." Cole chuckled, looking up at the boy, who leaned over the top of his head, placing his tiny hands on the older man's hair. "We don't have to eat the fishes, Julian." "Okay." Julian said, giving his uncle a smile.
The pair eventually made it down the path and to the water's edge. After setting overything up, Cole helped Julian put a worm onto the hook of his miniature fishing pole. He showed him how to cast the line out into the water, and he tried to do so, unsuccessfully. After throwing the line back out into the water, Julian looked up at Cole. "Now what?" He asked. "Now, we wait."

While watching his son feed the ducks, she noticed the lake getting a bit more crowded already. She grabbed her bag and the rest of the bread and scooted in closer to where Kameron, just so she wouldn't get the chance to lose him. Kameron hadn't noticed his mother budge though, as he was too busy giggling and laughing at the ducks every time he tossed another piece of bread out to them. Soon enough, he was out of bread in his hands and ran back to his mother for more. "Momma..can I has more bread please?" he asked, cupping his hands out to her innocently. "Sure sweetie, here you go." Jayde tore off a few more pieces of bread off and poured them into her son's little hands, watching him eat a few first. That made Jayde laugh softly. "Kam, you silly goose, you're suppose to feed those to the ducks, not yourself." "But I'm hungry, momma." Kameron responded, his head tilted to the side. Jayde giggled again. "Oh, well in that case..." she grabbed the bread bag and Kameron's pieces and poured them back into the bag, handing it back to the red-headed little boy. "There. Now you have plenty for both you, and the duckies." Kameron let out a giddy little laugh, thanking his mother before running back to the edge of the lake. That is, before he took a crashing, having the whole bag fall into the lake. Kameron let out a squeal as he watched all the ducks suddenly gather over to the floating bag and bread. "Kameron!" Jayde called out, running over to him in panic. "Are you alright, sweetie?" she bent down, pulling him close to her, frantically looking him over for any scratches or bruises. "I lost the bread!" he cried, pointing over the edge towards the ducks quacking happily. "Awe, its okay, Kam. We can always get another bag. It's alright." she soothed the whimpering little boy with hugs and kisses.

Cole sat in his chair, his nephew just a few feet away in his matching one. He was reading a text from his sister when the little boy spoke up. "How long do we hafta wait fors?" Julian asked. Cole smiled, it had only been a few minutes. He knew fishing probably wasn't the best choice for a two-year old, but he wanted to get Julian out of the house. "You have to be patient, kid." Cole said.
"Oh." Was Julian's simple reply. After a few minutes of silence, Julian suddenly hopped up from his chair, letting out an excited gasp. "Looook!" He yelled, "Look, Uncle Cole! Look! There's ducks!" Before Cole could even say a word, Julian took off from their spot, and ran over to where the ducks were swarming over something in the water.
Cole ran after the small boy, who could run surprisingly fast, and called his name. Julian didn't stop though, or even slow as he neared the water. Before he even knew what hit him, Julian toppled face first into the water. Cole picked him up almost instantly, and settled him on his hip. "Are you okay?" He asked. Julian looked up at him with wide eyes before he burst into laughter. This caused Cole to smile and tousle the boys hair.

Kameron calmed down rather quickly, then. Mostly because he found something entertaining to make him laugh it off. "Mommy! Look-it!" the little red-headed boy shouted, pointing his finger back towards the lake where a big splash was made. All the ducks had flown out of the way as another little boy was splashing in the water after them. Jayde nearly jumped out of her skin when she saw one of the older boys pulling out the younger one from the lake. While still holding on to her son's hand, she rushed over to see if he was alright, being the nervous mother she was. "Oh my god, is he alright? That was some fall." she asked, in sort of a rushed and nervous tone.

Cole looked at the red head when she rushed over to them, offering a smile. Julian stopped laughing when she spoke, becoming silent in front of the stranger. Julian wasn't a shy kid or anything, but he was a little embarrassed. "Yeah," Cole said in response, "I'm sure he's fine." Cole looked back at his nephew, inspecting his arms and legs for any scrapes. Cole knew his sister would probably murder him if he brought back her son covered in scratches. Thankfully, he seemed fine, other than being soaking wet. "Julian just needs to be more careful. You could have hurt yourself, buddy."

Jayde smiled, seeing that the little boy was alright, other than being soaking wet. "That's good. Sorry, I'm just a bit of a worrywart, being a single mother and all." she shrugged, patting her son's matching red mop of hair who looked up at her with a blank face. "Momma, can I swim, too?" he asked innocently. Jayde giggled lightly, pulling Kameron closer to her then. "No, Kam. You don't want to swim in that yucky water." she looked down, stroking her son's hair. "Besides, you're not wearing your swim trunks, remember?" Kameron only pouted in response, and crossed his little arms across his chest.

Cole grinned at the girl and brought a hand up to shake the water out of Julian's hair, ruffling the wet strands in between his fingers. He shrugged, "It's fine." He said, "My sister is the same exact way. Better safe than sorry." "Mommy worries too much." Julian piped up, frowning slightly. He knew that Molly worried too much, and even lost sleep because of it. He tried his best though, to make sure that he helped her as much as she would let him, and then some. "I know, kid. It's only because she loves you." Cole said in reply, "Anyway, I'm Cole and this is my nephew, Julian." He held out his free hand, but not before wiping it on his pants to remove any water that was left there.

Jayde smiled in response, following with a small giggle afterwards. "It's a mother thing, I suppose. But you know, Julian," she crouched down to the little boy's level, "Your uncle is right. She only does it because she loves you. I do the same thing for my son." she smiled at the boy, standing back up to introduce herself properly to the older boy. "Anyway, nice to meet you, Cole. I'm Jayde. And this is my son, Kameron." she shook his hand in return, before practically turning all the way around to find her son hiding behind her legs again. She gave him a light nudge forward to say hello, or at least wave. He did just that, but stuck his thumb back in his mouth for security. "He's a bit shy, but once you get to know him, he'll run all over the place like any child would do." she explained calmly, smoothing out her son's hair behind her for reassurance.
