Tad watched the boy get situated and then pulled the blanket up so that it covered him up to his neck. He laid his head down on the pillow right next to the small child, licking his lips. What had he just said? He didn't worry about himself? With that statement, Tad's brow furrowed in confusion. He shook his head. "What are you worried about, then?" he asked him gently, whispering as well, so he didn't disturb his girlfriend's slumber.

Julian just shrugged, shaking his head against his arms. He closed his eyes for a minute or two before opening them to look at Tad again. "Are you gonna stay?" He asked, the words a tentative question. Being in the comfy bed was making it hard for him to fight sleep, but he fought to stay awake to hear the answer. Though Julian was very young, his questions were often thoughtful. That's what happens when your mother is an English major and she has to keep you busy while doing her homework. He was constantly growing and learning new things every day.

Tad furrowed his brow and watched the little boy as his eyes grew heavy. His question struck him as odd, but he answered anyway. "Of course I'm going to stay, buddy," he whispered. "I wouldn't dream of leaving you and your mommy." He ran a strong, gentle hand over the little boy's hair and paused for a few seconds as he seemed to be growing even sleepier. "Just go to sleep, I promise I'll still be here." He gave him a light kiss and ran his hand down Julian's back, before he pulled it back over to himself and watched as his eyes grew even heavier. He started to sing softly again, hoping to relax him.

Julian answered with a sleepy smile, satisfied with the answer he had received. He was smart enough to realize there was something different about him when compared to other children. The other kids had a mommy and a daddy, but he had a mommy and an uncle Cole, which wasn't do bad. But, Julian couldn't help but become attached to his mother's boyfriend, and he was glad that he wasn't going to leave anytime soon. It was now that he started to think that maybe his mother had been wrong after all. The boy's eyes drifted shut when Tad began to sing softly, his voice eventually sending him into a peaceful sleep.

Tad watched Julian fall asleep and smiled. He ran a light hand over the boy's hair again and shook his head. He wasn't sure who he loved more, Molly or her son. Either way, it didn't matter because he wasn't about to leave them without a fight, that was for sure. He sang for a few moments longer, even though Julian was already asleep. He wondered what the small child had been worried about, but he knew that it was best for him to work it out himself. It didn't matter right now, anyway. He felt sleep overtake his mind as well and he fell into a deep one, the way that he normally did, it was a wonder that Julian's cries for help earlier had been heard.
