Cybill couldn't help but laugh, "The truth? If that was the truth, that bitch wouldn't be in your bed right now, asshole." She wanted to hit him again, she really did. She wanted to lay her fists into him and beat him until he was bleeding, but she wouldn't. She did hit him again, though, in the same spot. "How long have you known her?" she asked, punching him again. "What is her last name?" She hit him again. "Face it, Mason," she sneered, lifting her eyebrows at him, "She's a skank. And just for the record, defending her will not help your case." She laughed again as he accused her of saying no. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. "I said no? Wow, you really weren't there that night were you? I basically threw myself at you, damn near begged you to do something to me. You said no. Three times. You rejected me."

Mason shook his head, her words were making him angry. Transforming all that pent up pain into something new all together. When her fist connected with his shoulder again, he glared at her. "Ouch! God damn it, you punch hard." His expression hardened. "What's your last name, Cybill? Huh? How long did I know you?" He threw her own questions back at her. "I'm defending her because I would have defended you." It was the truth. He knew virtually nothing about the girl who may or may not still be in his bed, and until he knew otherwise, he would not make any assumptions about who she was or what she was like. "I said no to sex with you because of what I was feeling for you." He threw his hands up in the air. "I said no to you because I didn't want it to be about sex. You said no to me wanting to be something more." He lowered his voice slightly. "You said no to me wanting to learn what makes you smile. To learn what makes you cry. To learn what annoys you. You said no me wanting to remember your favorite food and your birthday. Cybill, you said no to letting me in. You said no to me caring about you. If anyone was rejected, it was me."

She punched him again as he glared at her. "I told you my last name. I told you my middle name, for crying out loud! The difference is, you slept with her and you didn't sleep with me!" She shot a glare back in his direction looking him straight in the eye. "Would have defended me against who, Mason?? Was there another girl before me? Do you do this on a regular basis?" She hit him again wishing he would move so she could get out of here and cry her eyes out in her room. Her face was stone cold as he gave her his monologue about what she had said no to. She had said no because she was afraid. She didn't want to do that, and she had come back to say that she was sorry, but now she wasn't so sure anymore. "Oh yeah?" she asked, her tears finally moving to the surface of her smoldering expression. "I came back here to say that I was sorry. I was going to try something, but I was wrong. You're just like everyone else." She turned away again, thinking that if she jumped head first out the window, she might be able to forget him all together.

The glare abated for a moment. This girl was so damn stubborn, but it had been one of the things that he liked about her in the beginning. He wanted to grab her wrist when she tried to hit him again, but didn't. "I didn't sleep with you because you had the power to hurt me. I figured that it would be easier if I just got it over with, like ripping off a band-aid. It didn't work out that way though. I slept with her to get you out of my head, Cybill. Whenever I closed my damn eyes you were there and I couldn't do a thing about it." He looked at the floor. If he had just ran with it, she surely would have destroyed him when she decided it was too much to handle. "I'm not like everyone else. I actually gave a damn about you and you threw it all away." He used the past tense, but he never stopped caring. "Why Cybill? You threw it away because you were scared. And you ran. Let me tell you something, this would have never happened if you stayed. And I'm sorry. I'm sorry I hurt you. But you hurt me too."

"And she doesn't?" she asked him, raising a brow. She didn't buy any of it. Why should she? It didn't make any sense to her and it shouldn't make any sense to him. She let out a frustrated yell and shook her head. "Seriously, Mason? I couldn't get you out of my head either, but I didn't go out and fuck some guy! I sat in my room! You can ask my brother, I've been fucking crying for the past three days trying to figure this shit out when I cold have just let it alone." She felt her jaw start to quiver and she shook her head lightly as she told her everything that she had just been thinking, aside from the window bit. "So now it's my fault you fucked some girl you don't know? I don't think so. I'm not going to be to blame for any of this. You're the one who decided to bring her here, you slept with her. I wanted something more, I just told you that. You ruined it. You." She had lost a lot of her will to actually do anything. "Get out of my way."

Mason sighed softly, he could feel the fight leaving him. He still wasn't going to let her walk away so easily. He just watched her when she continued speaking, his eyes softening when she admitted she had been crying. "She already has." He said quietly. "But that wasn't her fault. I'm completely to blame for that one." Mason frowned, shaking his head. "No, Cybill it's not your fault that I decided to go and and try to have some fun. It's not your fault that I met a girl who successfully distracted me from the ache that wouldn't leave my chest. You didn't make me sleep with her. That's all me. But what you did was give me the opportunity to do so." When she once again demanded that he move, Mason shook his head again. "I didn't ruin this. You never let it start."

Cybill wanted to cry, she really wanted to sit on the floor and bawl her eyes out, but her stubbornness wouldn't allow that. "So what do you want me to do, Mason? Unsee the naked girl in your bed? Forgive you? I can't really do that. You realize that I had the same opportunity that you had, but I didn't take it. I didn't lie. I never told you a lie." A tear fell from her eye and she wiped it away quickly as if trying to hide the fact that it had ever been there. She swallowed her pride and told him what was happening in her head, "I have opened myself up and told you what I was thinking and how I felt. Even when I was scared. I told you that. You couldn't even wait a week. That's what hurts, Mason. I wanted to try this, but I don't know why anymore."

Mason shook his head, watching the floor. "I don't expect you to forgive me." He finally said, raising his eyes. "You don't have to do anything." Even though he didn't lie to her either, he didn't bring it up. He wished that she wasn't crying, wished he wasn't the cause of her tears, almost wished that she had never met him. "You're right. I'm sorry, it doesn't mean much now, but I am. So, walk away, if that's what you want." I don't deserve you anyway... He opened the door to the bathroom, stepping aside, offering her her way out. He closed his eyes, leaning against the wall, attempting to keep the emotions at bay. He had screwed things up, and even though it wasn't completely his fault, he would let her believe that. If it meant that she would feel even just a little better, he would let her believe anything at this point.

Cybill's expression was eerily stone like. She stepped out into the hall as he opened the door for her. What she saw was Alegrah standing in the door frame of the bedroom, holding only a blanket around her naked form. Cybill gave her a glare which made Alegrah smile. For some reason, today seemed like as good a day as any to take on her snotty cheerleader persona. "So does this mean I get the make up sex too? I'm perfectly alright with that."
Cybill gave her another stare and Then warned her once, "Not the time, princess." Alegrah let out a laugh, "Awesome, I do get it." Without a second thought, Cybill took the two steps over to the other girl and shoved her into the bedroom. "Why the hell don't you go slut yourself out somewhere else?" she asked harshly with another shove, "I think your work here is done." She pushed her one more time, causing her to fall onto the bed and pointed at Mason, "He is a good guy and you're just ruining him." Alegrah gave her a quick kick in the stomach, "He didn't complain last night."

When Cybill began yelling at Alegrah, Mason quickly wiped away the small amount of tears that had formed in his eyes and pushed off the war. He turned the corner just as Cybill shoved her onto the bed. "Shit..." He muttered, taking a few steps into the room. When Alegrah kicked her in the stomach though, he wedged himself in between the two. He faced Alegrah with a confused yet irritated expression, "What the fuck are you doing?" He asked. "You don't need to make it any worse, Alegrah. It's bad enough for her already." He wanted to correct Cybill when she called him a good guy. He wasn't a good guy. Maybe a few days ago, but definitely not now. He also wanted to ask Cybill if she was okay, but he knew that would probably only anger her.

Cybill looked at him as he stepped between them, well, the back of him. She was hunched over a little from the kick and her stomach hurt. She wanted to cry again, but she wanted to get out of there. Alegrah just looked up at him with a smile and a shrug, "Just figured I would have to make you feel better since she ruined the morning. I thought she should know." She was lying of course, she was just stirring like she usually did when he was in the middle of something stupid like this.
"I'm just going to leave so you can get to it," Cybill said, standing up straight and walking calmly out only to fall apart once she had made it to the deck. She was sobbing, the tears pouring from her eyes. She couldn't get a hold of herself, not even to make it the ten steps it took to get to her car. She sat against the door, crying her eyes out. This hadn't been what she expected to happen. Everything was supposed to get better, not worse.

Mason watched Cybill walk away from him with sad eyes. She didn't deserve what he had done to her. If it were him in her position, he would probably forgive her, but that was just him. Mason was easy to just forgive and forget. He liked being happy, and holding grudges was not a part of being happy. This wasn't anything he could fix with just words, promises of something better. He'd made her feel like she meant nothing to him, and in doing so he broke what little trust she'd managed to scrounge up for him. Mason wanted to just fall apart with how final it all felt now, but he couldn't do that when he still had a naked girl in his bed.
Once he'd heard the front door close, Mason's eyes drifted towards Alegrah again. He sighed, running a hand roughly through his hair. Her behavior had baffled him, ad it almost made him want to regret defending her. The way she acted supported the things Cybill had said about her. "What was that about?" He questioned, leaning against the dresser. "I don't remember you acting like this last night, and I really don't want to regret defending you." He knew he couldn't really blame her though, for what happened, even though a part of him wanted to. "I'm sorry you had to be in the middle of this mess." Mason didn't know why he felt like he had to defend himself to her, but he did. "I wanted to be with her and she said no. So I hope you don't think I'm some asshole who cheated on his girlfriend."
It took him a moment to realize that he'd never heard Cybill drive away, and that caused him to pause and walk towards the window and peek out the blinds. Her car was still here, and he couldn't tell if she was in it or not. "You should probably put your clothes on, Alegrah." Mason said, looking back at the girl. "This isn't going to happen."

Alegrah shrugged lightly, “I don’t remember you acting like you would regret this in the morning last night.” She smiled and shook her head lightly, “You really don’t need her, Mason. You’re a cute guy, you’ll find someone who’s ten times better for you.” She shrugged her shoulders lightly, “You should just loosen up and have a little bit more fun.” She grinned and tried to lead him to the bed, but he moved toward the window and she sighed. She hadn’t heard a car, so obviously the girl wasn’t gone.
“Fine, whatever.” She got dressed quickly, wishing she would have stuck to her normal schedule last night, have fun, dance and bail. Once she was dressed she moved to the door. “I’ll walk home, thanks. You need to figure out what you actually want in life. This is not the way to get it.” She walked out the door and to the staircase. “Have a nice life, Mason. Hope the rest of it works out better.”
Alegrah opened the door and saw Cybill sitting there sobbing, “Quit crying, bitch, I’m leaving.” Cybill wiped her face quickly and gave her a dirty look. “What? That’s what you wanted right? Now you can rip him to shreds without me here.” She wanted to walk away, but the good side got the better of her and she sighed. “Listen, he really is sorry, and if it helps, this wasn’t his idea. I know it probably doesn’t, but his brain wasn’t exactly what was thinking last night.” She turned around and started off toward her house.

Mason thought about her words, letting her walk out the room, and probably out of his life. Though, considering that he now knew who she was and they went to the same school, he would probably be seeing her around. Up until a few days ago, he'd had a plan. He knew what it was that he wanted, and knew how to get it. But, when he met Cybill, she was thrown into that mix. She wasn't like other girls, in more than one sense. He wondered how his life could get so complicated in just a few short days.
Mason stopped to change into some clean clothes and put on his shoes. He intended to go and see why Cybill was still here, if she was still here by the time he got down there. He knew there wasn't anything he could say, but he would try to at least make her feel better about the things he'd done to wrong her. If he had to, he would make her not care. Mason slowly descended the stairs, watching her through the still open front door. When he made it to the doorway, he sat on the doorstep, not saying a word. It made his heart ache to see her tears, especially knowing that they were all his fault.

As Mason sat beside her she wondered why she was still sitting there. In the days before she'd met him, she never would have let anyone see her vulnerable, save her older brother. She knew all too well what happened when people saw that you had a weak side to you and she didn't care to show it anymore. For some reason, though, a new soft spot had been made for this boy and it wasn't going to leave anytime soon. After a few minutes, when Alegrah had left her view she swallowed, "I'm sorry."
