JaeKi let out a satisfied breath as he sat on the bench and placed his bag of burger and fries next to him and his backpack between his legs. There was nothing like a bacon ultimate cheeseburger (or whatever Palmer's called it, it would forever be a bacon ultimate to him) and some fries as a good snack (Because, after all, he had promised Isaak they'd go to Marie Calendar's for dinner, and he wanted pie). He opened the bag and put a couple fries in his mouth before wiping his hands on his jeans and digging through his backpack. He pulled out a large sketchbook and a black sharpie. He continued working on a piece he kept getting stuck at, never sure what else he wanted to do with it. He darkened some lines as he stared at the entire picture, trying to figure out where his mind was at 3am two weeks ago when had first started the picture.

Harper walked into the diner, paint still smudged on her cheek and her stomach grumbling rather loudly. Just getting done with a photo shoot, and then going straight home to finish a painting she'd been working on all week caused her to forget to eat, which is something she often done. If only she could get the colors to blend right, everything would be perfect. Sighing lightly, Harper plopped onto the bench and ordered herself a burger and milkshake before pulling her phone out of her pocket, flipping to a picture of the sunset, the very picture she was working on at home.

JaeKi had to stop himself from jumping as someone sat next to him, and he clutched his bag of food protectively from this strange girl that sat down next to him. He brought his sketchpad to his chest, mostly to hide the drawing from her, as he glanced at what she was doing. Judging from the paint on her cheek, he made out she was an artist like him. His eyes drifted to the picture of a sunset she had on her phone, though his first thoughts were more jealousy over her having a nice phone with good lens over the fact that the picture was actually very beautiful. He shifted a bit and cleared his throat, deeming this stranger as not a threat to his food as he opened the bag and stuck a few more fries in his mouth, continuing to darken the lines on his picture.

Thanking the waiter softly, taking a sip of her milkshake before biting into her burger. She continued to study the picture on her phone, sighing before switching to a picture of a waterfall. Something she planned on starting once she was finished. A sound brought her out of her thoughts and she turned her head to see a guy sitting next to her, seeming to concentrate hard on something he was working on. Harper tilted back a bit, looking over the guys shoulder. "That's a cool picture." She commented, chewing on her straw.

JaeKi all but had to unclaw himself from the ceiling as the female stranger spoke. He looked wide-eyed between his picture and her. "Oh um... thanks..." He muttered before finishing the fries he had in his mouth and clearing his throat again. "Those pictures on your phone were nice, too." He said simply, admitting he had seen them.

"Oh, thanks. This one I found on the internet," she motioned towards the waterfall. "The other I took a few weeks ago. I've been trying to paint it but I can't get it to blend right." Harper took a sip of her milkshake before tilting her head curiously. "So, you drew that, huh? How long did it take you?"

JaeKi looked at the pictures, more in awe that she took one of them. He looked to his own drawing and let out a small laugh. "Oh well... How long I've been working on it and how long I've been staring at it are two different things." He admitted. "Cause if it's how long I've been staring at it, then it's been two weeks. If it's how long I've actually been working on it, then it's only been about a day in total."

"A day? That took you a day to draw? Oh my gosh." Harper knew she might have been exaggerating, but she was impressed. "That's amazing. That would take me forever." Harper took a couple bites of her burger, washing it down with her shake. "Why have you been staring at it for 2 weeks?"

JaeKi smiled, feeling proud of the work even though it was still unfinished. "Um, well... I kind of started it one night when I couldn't sleep, so I've been trying to remember where I was going with it." He admitted with a small chuckle.

"Oooh, yeah I've done that before. Usually I just leave it alone for a while. The idea comes back eventually." Harper nodded as if that were the answer he'd been looking for, taking another long sip of her shake. "So do you draw a lot?"

JaeKi nodded, "Basically 24/7." He told her, then pulled out his phone, going to a photo on it. "Last summer before I left my hometown, my parents let me do this to the living room. Of course, I had to get it okayed by them first." He explained, letting out a small laugh. His parents weren't necessarily against him practicing graffiti at anymore, but they by no means fully supported him. He switched to the next picture. " This is in my baby sister's room." He explained, smiling as he thought of his little sister. It was pretty obvious how much he cared for her.
