Logan's eyes traveled from puppy to puppy: they all were so cute and adorable and begging for attention. A Boston Terrier pup cradled in his hands, he rocked it back and forth before handing it to a young girl. "That's Trevor," he said, with a small smile. "He's a very friendly boy. You'll take care of him, right?" he questioned. The little girl nodded, gladly taking the puppy in her hands. A wide smile spread across his face; he loved the feeling of helping animals; especially the poor dogs that have been abused or had gone through so much. His sister, Marissa, was volunteering with him; both of them having a gentleness towards animals. She was working with some of the dogs in the back; refilling their food bowls and pampering them. It was nearly lunch time, and a break was in order for those who have been working since morning.

Elisabeth had just gotten off her short lunch, and came in to see two new people working, or at least, volunteering there. Before she could go up to introduce herself though, the boss beat her to it. "Oh, good Elisabeth, you're back. I was just showing the new guys around and got them busy with filling water bowls and such. Why don't you go check on them and see how their doing? Oh, and take care of this little one, will you? He's new." Elisabeth nodded, and did what she was told, grabbing the baby chihuahua out of her boss's arms and walked over to the boy first that seemed to have just given a home to one of the puppies. "Hey, you must be one of the volunteers. I'm Elisabeth, one of the co-workers here." She introduced, cradling the puppy she held in her arms still.

"Hey there little one," Logan chirped, grinning at the baby chihuahua in Elisabeth's hands and rubbing its' neck lovingly. He let it lick his palm before he contracted his hands. His attention shifted to the girl in front of him as he gazed up at her. She was taller than him, although they had to be around the same age. He felt like a midget compared to most people; especially in Riverside - everybody seemed to be 5'6 or taller. "I'm Logan," he said cheerfully, a bright smile spreading across his face; he couldn't be more excited. "That's my sister, Marissa, over there." he told her, gesturing to the blond girl who was playing with one of the adult dogs. "It's nice to meet you!" he nearly stuck out his hand when she realized she was still holding the baby chihuahua. Oops. He shifted his feet awkwardly and stared at the ground for a minute before looking back up and smiling. "Is there anything I can do for ya?"

Elisabeth smiled in return, glad to see there were plenty other animal lovers out there like her. She turned her head slightly to see where Logan was pointing, seeing the girl that was his sister in the back. "Oh, I was just going to introduce myself to her after you." she giggled lightly, bouncing the puppy in her arms lightly as it got a bit fussy, almost like it were a real baby or something. "Um, well I saw that you didn't have any trouble giving some of these dogs homes. But...." she looked back around at two yellow labradors laying in the kennel together. "Maybe you could take those two out to the restroom? They haven't gone since this morning." she explained, pointing over to the dogs as well as the leashes that hung up next to the kennel. "I'll go check on your sister in the mean time though. It was nice meeting you." she said again, adjusting the puppy in her arms again as she made her way over to who was his sister in the other room. "Hey! So you're Marissa, right? I was just meeting your brother over there. It's nice to meet you. I'm Elisabeth, one of the other co-workers here." She noticed she was playing with one of the older dogs, which just warmed Elisabeth's heart even more. Coming from someone who's had an older dog herself, she knew how much attention they needed as well as the puppies.
