Ali was having a terrible Valentine’s Day so far. All of her classes had been horrible and twice as boring as normal and she couldn’t think of anything free of her terrible past few weeks. She drove home slowly that day, trying to calm herself down and keep herself from crying. She didn’t want to break down tonight of all nights. It was Valentine’s after all…
As she reached her house and she got out with her backpack and she started into the house, figuring she’d have to call Layne to find out what his plans were for this evening. She walked to her bedroom and furrowed her brow as she saw the card on her door. She pulled it off and took the needle off the front, reading the note and giving the needle another confused look. She opened the door and looked at her boyfriend sitting on her bed, then noticed the balloons. “Oh my God, Laynie,” she said before she looked at him with a grin. “What in the world is all this?” she asked with a bubble of laughter.

Ali grinned at his words. "Oh my god, seriously? I have to pop them all?" she asked with a grin. "Where am I supposed to start?" she asked, glancing around, trying to find a good balloon to start with. "There are so many, how did you even blow up this many balloons?" She let out another surprised giggle, unable to believe what was going on. She dropped her book bag on the floor and reached over to pop a balloon, she noticed something fell out and looked down to the ground, unsure of what it was. It was a guitar pick. She shook her head with a smirk. "Do they all have something in them?"

Ali grinned and then and started popping away. She would pop a balloon and then look at the thing inside. Most of the time she would take a second and then shake her head with a grin, but she put every item on her desk so that she could scrapbook it later. She was really enjoying this and then she popped one that had the fair bracelet in it. "Oh. My. God. You still have yours?" she asked, grinning like a moron. "This is from our first date. Why did to keep this so long?" She couldn't really believe that, it was amazing to her that he would keep a piece of paper, all this time.

Ali Rene couldn't help but grin at his response, falling into his loving embrace. "Oh, Laynie, you're so wonderful," she said softly, kissing his shoulder and then looking up and kissing his chin. She shook her head, "No, if anyone is being a douche, it's me. I've been way too caught up in the miscarriage and I've been depressed and I need to snap out of it because I love you and I want you to know that..." She smiled lightly at his offer and nodded, "If you don't mind..."

Ali nodded. "Alright. I promise next time you need to know what to do I'll tell you what I need, but you'll have to let me know when you need guidance, kay?" She smiled at his kiss and then went back to the balloons. She'd popped a couple as he sat on his and giggled as he fell through it. She walked over beside him and grinned. "Oh my god, yes that was the day you gave me my promise ring," she said with a huge grin on her lips. She shook her head again, looking at the pictures again. "Gosh, that was such a good day."

Ali smiled and nodded at his question, very glad that he'd kept his promise. She continued popping balloons as well and after she got a handful of mementos and memories. She set the things aside as she went, leaving a pile where the balloons used to be. She shrugged, "I don't have that much.... I wanted to talk about the date with you. I mean, mom will have a fit if I don't wait until the summer, which isn't too far off, but I'm just nervous that I won't have enough time for planning. She said that I could get married anytime I want. Probably because she thinks I'll do something crazy if she doesn't let me, like run away again, even though I don't think I would ever do that again, unless I ran away to your house." She sighed and looked over at him with a smile, "But I decided on royal blue. Do you think Eve would want to be in our wedding party?"

Ali smiled at him and shook her head lightly before she looked around her room. "That is a lot of balloons." She looked up at him and raised a brow as she took the last balloon from his hand and popped it, the keys landing perfectly in the palm of her hand. "Oh, Laynie, these are keys to your house!" She grinned and let her arms wrap around his neck tightly. "You're the best boyfriend ever!" She was really excited about this. Sure, she was at his house all the time, but the fact that she could get in anytime she wanted just made her feel like she was important, like there was something more they were committing to, and she was happy about that. "Yeah, the flowers are prettier then." She let him out of the hug and looked at her fiance, "Yeah? I'm glad, I just feel like she should be in our wedding, just because you guys used to be close and stuff..."

Ali grinned softly at him and nodded, looking down at the key in her hand. "Yeah, that makes sense, it will be ours soon enough." She looked back up to her boyfriend with the smile still apparent on her features. She was having a way better day than she'd been having just thirty minutes before. She sat down on her bed as he said that he could talk to his sister about the wedding. "Why? Is she not happy that we're getting married? If she isn't I understand, I mean, I can't say I'd be happy about this kind of situation if I was in her place." She stood again and let her arms wrap around his neck, "I don't care what we do tonight. I'm not really that hungry right now, and I don't particularly want to stay here. So, your house?"

Ali smiled and nodded, looking down. "I see. Well I don't really know, honestly. She could be a bridesmaid or she could be part of your party, I mean, I know typically it's supposed to be all boys, but wouldn't it make sense for her to be a groom's woman?" she asked with a shrug. "I'm sorry, I'm taking over your part of the wedding too. You're supposed to choose your own groomsmen. I'll stay out of it, I promise." She nodded at his suggestion about netflix. It sounds good to me, I'm always up for a good movie."

Ali nodded as he spoke. "Yeah. Malachi will come home for a while when we have the wedding, so if you want him to be a groomsman it would work out. I don't have anyone either, really, besides you. I'm just using my sister as my maid of honor." She shrugged lightly and smiled at his statement. "That's sweet of you to say, babe, but I think we need some friends." She sighed lightly and looked up at him, nodding, "Alright. You don't have to help me clean. I won't be here until tomorrow night probably anyway, maybe a little longer than that..."
