Zane turned over on his bed, the black out curtain Tess had put up by his bed was a God send, he couldn't have asked for a better way to block out the light and knock out one horrific symptom of the evil migraines that always rocked his world the wrong way when they were least appreciated. He was grateful that the photosensitivity was one last thing he needed to worry about, but Gage's screaming in the next room was not doing a thing to alleviate the pain. The walls were thick enough, but that baby had a good set of lungs on him.
He wanted Tally with him, he wasn't having an easy time adjusting to all the newness around him. The new house, the new room, being a legitimate member of a family with the adoption, and worst of all, the absence of Ryan. If his head wasn't pounding against his skull, threatening to give him a concussion from the inside, he'd take out his cell and send her a text message to come over and bring a big bottle of Excedrin. Tess must have retrieved Gage from his crib, because he was no longer screaming, and Zane took this quiet opportunity to send her a text message. It was like a trade off of pain, the LED light of his cell for the screams of Gage.
Headache, difficult adjusting, need you. It was cryptic, but he felt it got the message across. He turned the phone over so he could no longer see the bright light and buried his face beneath the blankets to wait for her.

Tally received his text message and licked her lips. She sighed lightly, she was sad that he wasn't feeling well, and she started out of her house, not answering her mother's question of where she was going as she left. She almost sped walked all the way to the Richards' new home and knocked lightly before she opened the door and stepped in, headed up to Zane's room. She knew they wouldn't care if she came in, considering she would be invited in anyway. She got to Zane's room and knocked lightly before she opened the door and stepped in like she had the front door. "Hey, babe," she whispered as she walked to the bed, "Migraine?" She moved the blanket from his head and kissed his temple. "I'm sorry, honey."

Zane nodded and shielded his eyes from the light that was breaking into his previously dark sanctuary of pain. He smiled at her and moved his head in an uh huh motion. "Thanks for coming." He said softly, wrapping his arms around her. "Lay with me." He meant to ask but it came out as a polite demand. "How are you?" He asked, though the pain was unbearable he didn't want to lay there in utter silence. "I miss you and this crap sucks." He didntvwant to talk about it, but conversations these days just seemed to lean toward it no matter how hard youngster to avoid it. "Sorry we don't have to talk about it." He knew Martin's passing was probably just as hard for her and Gracie as Ryan's was on him and Tess.

Tally smiled and slipped off her dirty Chucks before she climbed into his bed. She kissed his lips gently and ran a light hand through his hair, hoping to comfort his probably throbbing head. She shrugged with his question and smiled the best she could, not that he could see in the dark room. "I'm alright, Gracie's fine too. It's just hard, but you know that. How are you doing?" she asked. Well that was a stupid question, Tally, obviously he isn't doing well, he told you that. She shook her head, "No, don't worry, its fine to talk about it, I think you have to so you can move on. I bet it's what Martin and Ryan would want for us."

"I'm coping but my head isn't." He tried to joke but it wasn't really the truth or very funny. "I'm lousy actually. I know I belong in this family but it doesn't feel right to be here without Ryan." He shrugged his shoulder. Her fingers in his hair felt good and oddly enough were soothing enough to help ease the ache. "I always thought if Ryan were gone I wouldn't stick around, I'd make my exit and do what I've always done, but that just can't happen now. Tess needs me, Gage needs me and if didn't take you with me, one, you'd hunt me down and kill me and two I wouldn't last more than a couple days without you. I'm addicted to you, I need you as you can see now." He held her close and rested his boiling forehead against her shoulder.

Tally nodded, listening to everything this boy was telling her. She knew of course that he wasn't coping. She sighed softly and nodded. "Yeah, it's hard to leave people when you care," she teased with a soft chuckle. She nodded, "And you're right. I would definitely kill you if that situation arose." She smiled, though as he spoke of being addicted and she nodded, knowing exactly what he meant, because she felt the same way for him. She sighed softly and licked her lips. He set his head on her shoulder and she let her hand rest on his forehead for a second before running through his hair again, "This ones giving you a fever," she commented, meaning this migraine.

Zane shook his head, relieved that his migraine was subsiding. "I don't think the fever is caused by the migraine, I think it's just because I'm so hot." He looked up at her and grinned, then looked back down. "I'm kidding, but I like your fingers." He turned over to look at her. "You're like the perfect medicine, look I'm feeling better..." He took her hand and kissed it gently. "Do you like the town? Tell me about it? I haven't really been out in it."

Tally smiled at his joke, she loved that he could joke even when he was sick, when she was sick she only felt like zoning out and sleeping. "You must be right, I'll bet that's the reason. She smiled and started to scratch his head gently, still thinking that she was helping. She kissed his forehead and shook her head, he was very hot. She smiled as he rolled over and moved her hand from his head. "Well I'm glad you feel better. Maybe it's my presence."

Zane stared at her. "It is your presence, there is no other explanation for it, none at all." He winked and moved so he could wrap his arms all the way around her and pull her next to him. He kissed the back of her neck and played with the collar of her shirt. "You going to answer my questions? OR did you not hear me?" He asked, referring to his questions about the town.

Tally smiled as she was pulled close to him and shook her head lightly, "Maybe I should be a doctor, so I don't actually have to do anything and people get better, but I still get paid." She smirked again, looking straight in front of her, not that she could see much of anything in the dark. She giggled, "I'm sorry, I heard you, I got distracted..." She shrugged, "I like it, better than I liked Mabtown. Gracie thinks I like it, because I go out all the time, but really I'm just trying to get away from there. It's depressing..."

Zane put his finger up to her lips as she started talking about the depressing stuff. "Please." He didn't actually say what he didn't want her to talk about, but he guessed she would understand, he really didn't want to talk about the death of her brother, or all the deaths in the Richards' family and especially not Ryan, he'd already said his name once and it didn't make him feel great. "I'm glad to hear you like it better than Mabtown, but anything specific? I need to get out and go explore it."

Tally nodded as he asked her, or technically showed her, to stop talking. She understood, she didn't want to talk about it either, really. She kissed his finger, though and smiled lightly at his next question, "I don't know really. I went to the arcade. Shot some pool, which I'm very good at, by the way. And I like this diner. Its really cool and they have really good milkshakes."

Zane nodded as she explained what she'd explored. "Oh, I've heard of these milkshakes. Avery mentioned them and Michael went to the diner and brought us home burgers and a mac n cheese for Gage. The burgers were awesome and I stole some of Gage's mac and it was scrumptious too. So If the food is good, I can only imagine how awesome the milkshakes are." He kissed the back of her neck again. "Did I tell you I'm going to a neurologist for my headaches next week?"

Tally smiled and nodded, "Yeah, the burgers are awesome too. Mom took us there the first week in town. I've gone back a few times, but only for milkshakes, I feel strange eating at a restaurant by myself," she said lightly. "But I think its a bad thing to steal food from a toddler, I'm just sayin'," she said, teasing lightly. She turned her head so she could see his darkened face out of the corner of her eye and raised a brow, "Okay, will he be able to give you like meds for it?" she asked, hoping that they would. She hated when he didn't feel well.

Zane kissed her neck again. "As soon as this headache goes away we should go." He kissed her again and again. "I don't like eating by myself either and hey, he wasn't going to eat it anyway, he fell asleep as Tess was feeding it to him, poor little dude." He chuckled a little as he defended himself. "I assume he'll be able to give me meds to help with them, but I don't know, I've never trusted doctors and I already know there is no magic cure for them." He hugged her. "Except you."
