Tally smiled as he opened the door for her and walked through, pulling him with her. She sat down at the nearest booth and looked at him, "Are you hungry?" she asked. "Or do you just want milkshakes because that's fine by me..."

Zane shook his head. "No, a milkshake will do it, not really starving." He patted his stomach. "But uh, I'm paying." The waitress dropped off a couple of menues and explained that she'd be right over. "Wow she's skilled." He said. "She's balancing that tray of food and dropping off menues all at once, I couldn't do that." He dramatically opened the menu and searched for the milkshake menu. "So what are you getting?"

Tally smiled at him, "Well that sounds good to me," she said lightly. She took the menu, smiling at the waitress and flipped it to the milkshake section. She looked it over deciding on chocolate before she closed it. She giggled at his statement, "Well, she's probably had tons of practice." She smiled at him and answered simply, "Chocolate."

Zane closed his menu too. "I think I'll get chocolate too." He grinned, then turned to watch the waitress balance the tray and dish out the food to the table behind them. "I'm going to say she's had a lot of practice too. Can your mom do that?" He asked.

Tally looked at him with slitted eyes and smirked, "Are you copying me, mister?" she asked with a light laugh. She looked back at the waitress and shrugged, giving him a nod, "Sure she can. She's always done that, even when she used to make us dinner when dad was still alive. She's like the guys at the mexican restaurants. She can balance four plates on one arm, no joke." She smiled. "I bet I could do it. I'll bet its inherited."

Zane smirked but shook his head. "I bet you could do that, you're talented." He ran his foot up her leg under the table. "I bet I can't. We should try it later." He turned his attention away from the waitress and back to Tally. "Do you always order chocolate milkshakes?"

Tally smiled at him and rolled her eyes playfully. "Actually, I probably can't. Especially when there's food on the plates," she said with a soft giggle. She smiled at his foot on her leg and used the opposite foot to touch his opposite toe. "Alright, we'll try it later. The person who can hold the most plates wins." She shrugged and then shook her head, "No, last time I got strawberry."

Zane grinned. "We probably shouldn't use breakable plates when we test this out then." He chuckled and the waitress approached their table, order tablet in hand. "Another new face." She said to Zane then turned to Tally. "But you were in here not too long ago." She winked and poised her pen over her tablet. "Know what you want?" Zane raised his hand to Tally to suggest she go first.

Tally smiled at him, nodding in agreement as the waitress approached. She smiled at her and shook her head, "Wow you're good. Uhm, I think we just need two chocolate milkshakes." She looked over at Zane, "You wanted chocolate, right babe?" she asked.

Zane nodded. "Yeah, I was debating between strawberry and chocolate, but we'll go with chocolate." The waitress nodded and went to fill the order. "She didn't even right anything down, I bet she holds that thing just for show and never writes anything down." He shrugged. "Or maybe two chocolate milkshakes isn't hard to remember. This place is great."

Tally smiled at the waitress before she looked back at Zane. She giggled softly and shook her head lightly. "I'm guessing she just didn't have to write down because we only ordered two milkshakes." She smiled at him and slipped her foot out of her shoe and let it trace a line up his leg lightly.

Zane caught her foot under the table and played with her toes. "I think you're right, but if you don't stop that, you're going to have to something you weren't planning on doing to get me back down again." He grinned and winked suggestively.

Tally smirked at his words, "Who said that's not what I was planning?" she asked, daring him to say otherwise. She smiled though and took his hand from him, stretching her neck a little bit as she did so, just to get a little bit more comfortable. "So... What's been up at the Richards' house?"

"Is that what you were planning?" He asked, raising an eyebrow. The waitress dropped off their milkshakes and went about her business. "I'm not objecting, just not sure we should do all the foreplay in the middle of the diner." He leaned forward a little so only she could hear. "It's a bit rude." He whispered. He shrugged at her question. "Not a whole lot. Tess is getting Gage situated, he's been extremely fussy since the move and Tess hasn't exactly gotten a lot of sleep. Michael is down, way down, he works, he comes home, he cooks, unless he brings something home, he cleans, he asks how our day is, plays with Gage a bit if Gage isn't asleep, and then goes to bed." He looked down at his milkshake and then back up. "It's quiet, except for Gage. Even if we didn't like everyone in the house, it's hard not having them there, and even harder when you liked them." He took a small sip of his milkshake. "Tess was in Gage's nursery trying to put him down for a nap and I was flipping through the channels in the living room and I came across one of the kid shows Maze used to watch, and I half expected her to come running down the hall. She used to do that when she heard the jingle start, but she didn't and I watched the entire show without her." He looked back down at his milkshake and took a deep breath, willing the tears forming in his eyes to recede.

Tally giggled lightly and rolled her eyes, "Fine, I'll wait," she said as if disappointed. The mood changed drastically once again, however as he started telling her about how things were at his house. She nodded, listening, feeling the tears form in her eyes too as he spoke of Maze. She knew that their relationship had been special, it was actually quite strong, and she knew that he had to be hurting ten times worse than she was with as many people dying as did in the hurricane. He'd lost six family members, she'd only lost one. She licked her lips and nodded, squeezing his hand lightly, hoping she could push the tears from her eyes before he noticed. She took a drink of her milkshake which seemed to help. "Yeah, I can't even imagine..." She didn't say anything else, not wanting to dwell on this dark subject in the restaurant.
