Jade messaged Nick hurriedly, feeling awful for not having spoken to him in ages. Hey there Nicky. Can I come over? I've got a few hours free from classes here.
She put her phone back in her pocket, and lay on her bed to wait for an answer. It had been a while since she'd seen or heard from Ari and she wondered if she was happy or sad about that. He danced in and out of her thoughts every couple of days, and she'd been tempted to call him or just show up at his dorm. Neither of which she'd actually done. Sighing, she sat back up and twisted her hair into a loose ponytail before pacing around her room.

Nick looked at his phone and smiled, he hadn't talked to Jade in what seemed like forever and he definitely missed her. Sure head on over, Gage is at his mom's right now, so I'm free of responsibility for a little bit. He wasn't exactly overly happy about that, but he was glad to have the time to hang out with his best friend by himself.
I'm so sorry! I never saw this!!

Jade glanced at her phone, a smile spreading across her face at the thought of her small godson. Be there in a sec.
Jade grabbed her keys and hurried out of the house to her car. Climbing in, she wondered briefly about Ari once more and shook her head irritably. God I'm stupid. Honestly why did I think he'd really be interested in me? It's not like he's even staying in the country. He's only here for school.
Pulling into Nick's driveway, she took a deep breath and controlled herself. Her thoughts drifted back to Jacob and sighed. Don't go there. Just don't. Sliding out of the drivers seat, she locked the door and knocked on the excitedly. "Open up Nicky!"

Hearing the knock and the yell that was, without a doubt, Jade, he opened the door and smiled at her, "Hey Jadey, how's it going? Wanna go upstairs or just to the living room?" he asked, moving so she could at least step inside. He hadn't seen Jade in ages, this just seemed slightly odd and he wasn't sure what to think about it. He wanted to figure everything out and be best friends again, but he guessed the already were. No matter what they always seemed to fix each other. Jade would fix him more often, but still, they always seemed to have a good bond for conversations.

Jade stepped through the door and hugged him swiftly. "I've missed you! You need to come hang out with me on campus sometime."
Bouncing on her toes slightly, she looked around a little lost. Had they still been in MABTown, she'd have just run straight to his room, but she didn't remember exactly where it was. "Um, I guess the living room? Unless you wanna hang out upstairs, I mean I don't really mind." She paused uncertainly, her body angled towards the stairs.

Nick grinned and hugged her back, "I missed you too! So does that mean you passed all of your classes?" he asked with a hopeful smile. Last time they were together she'd told him that she was failing. He licked his lips, seriously wanting to know the answer. "Actually, I think I'd rather go up to me and Gage's room. It seems like an easier place to talk without interruption." Daylin was at the house today, and while he adored his niece, he didn't want her to ask him to play, he could never say no to her puppy dog pout.

Jade shrugged lightly, and grinned. "Yeah, getting Bs now. I just need to stay inside more than I was before."
She glanced up the stairs and then back at Nick. "Sure, your room sounds good. I um...have no idea where that is though, so gentlemen first."
She gestured up the stairs, feeling herself relax by the second. She hadn't noticed how stressed she'd been until she got here. "So catch me up Nicky, how's Gage doing? And Tess?"

Nick grinned at her, "That's awesome Jadey. I'm proud of you. I'm only pulling C's. Or at least I was only pulling C's the last quarter this year..." He smiled and nodded, leading her up the stairs and to his bedroom that he shared with his little boy when he came to stay with them. He listened to her questions and shrugged, "Good. Gage is walking and talking, which is kind of weird for me. It just seems like yesterday he was that little boy that needed help from a machine to breathe, but now he's running around and he's indestructible, basically. He falls down and then get's right back up." He shook his head lightly. "Tess is good too. She has him this week, she just came earlier to get him, actually. We've been trading off every week, so that neither of us get too tired."

Jade followed him up the stairs, a contented smile crossing her face. "That's ok Nick. Cs are still good. What were you getting last quarter? Do your teachers here know about Gage, or did you not tell them?" she she reached the top of the stairs she grinned at him. "Did Tess tell you that we met ages ago? I was running in the park and they were there playing with a ball. He's growing up so fast." she took a deep breath, more to stop her babbling at him than anything.
She bit her lip, wondering whether to tell him she was going to be an aunt or not, then decided for the time being to keep it quiet. It wasn't that she was ashamed of Brody exactly, but she still felt uncomfortable for some reason. She sighed wistfully and smiled at Nick. "I'm a little jealous of you Nick. With Tess and everything. You guys seem like you have everything working out for you."
