Chapter One What is This? ALLYSON
The first thing I notice is that the sky is purple. Now, I don't want to sound like some type of girl that just brags all the time about my super-scientific skills, but this is not normal. Well, usually not normal. I think I've seen a purple sky before. "Is there any grass in this place?" I asked myself, looking around. I'd just woken up in this random place, and don't know what to do at all. "No." I heard a voice answer me. I looked around. I couldn't see anybody in plain sight. "I'm here, you idiot." I heard the voice again. This time, I turned around. There was that kid! "Hey, hey, don't call me an idiot." I snapped. My eyes flashed with anger. He seemed to be getting pleased and pleased with my anger. "Oh, okay. I won't call you an idiot. But that doesn't mean you still aren't one." this boy was really getting on my nerves. He frowned at me. "You don't know where you're at, do you?" he asked. "Of course, you don't. You're as stupid as stupid can get." I was tired of this insults from him. He didn't know me! I bent over to hit him, and then, he was gone. Where did he go? I couldn't find him anywhere! Here? There? No. Nowhere at all. Where was he? I sighed, and turned away, started walking in the other direction. I was just going to find my way around this place by myself, when I heard a giggle. It was that boy, again. I flashed with anger. "What do you want?" I shouted. I was going to swing my arm on his head, and he vanished. Again. "Stop trying to hide!" I screamed. And then I started shrinking. Or maybe the world was getting larger, I don't know. And then the boy was as big as the Eiffel Tower. And I was as small as a mouse. He raised his foot, up above my head, and then stomped. I squealed and screamed. But nothing happened. Was I dead now? That was painless. But no, I wasn't. I opened my eyes. I was just sitting on the grassless ground, shouting and screaming. And that boy was laughing so hard. He was practically breaking my ears. That laugh was so annoying. I stomped up and screamed in his face. "What? I wasn't scared!" Oh, but I was scared. Very. That foot would have killed me. "You would have killed me, wouldn't have you?" but he didn't respond to me at all. Just kept chuckling. And laughing. And kicking at the dirt. "You were scared, admit it, Allyson!" he grinned. And then I looked puzzled. "How...how do you know my name?"

Chapter Two Oops! DANIEL
I kept on laughing and laughing. This was such a stupid girl. What was her problem? Trying to swing at me, trying to hit me. Asking if there's any grass? Isn't it obvious? Can't she look around? But anger was swirling inside of me, but I just kept laughing. The look on her face was priceless, priceless! She repeated her question. "I know your name, and that's all I'm saying." I snarled. I wouldn't tell her what she wanted to know. "And my name is a secret." I added in. Daniel, that was my name. But I wouldn't want to tell her that. Who needs some stupid girl knowing your name? She'll tell everybody. But Opal told me I was stuck with this loser. Opal is the leader of this little place. It doesn't have a certain name, but I call it "The Land of Dreams." That doesn't mean that this is just all dreams. Oh, dreams! No school, junk-food, and nothing to do! Just playing all day, right? Wrong. We fight. We bleed. We have pain, too. Haven't you ever heard of a nightmare? It's still a dream, just a dream of something scary or bad. It's still counted as a dream, and not all dreams are perfect... Well, I gave that nickname because we all can control these certain things. Kind of give illusion, or whatnot. I don't really want to waste time explaining. And I certainly wish I wasn't stuck with this new girl. She'll probably be appearing in my nightmares. "You're stupid, you know that?" I asked, leaning over her. She was still sitting on the ground like a fool. Didn't she know anything? That some plants live in the ground? They could just pick her up, just sitting there like that. "Allyson. You're an idiot." I wanted to fight here right there. May the best fighter win, right? But I couldn't. Opal told me instructions. I was to train this fool. She looked about my age, maybe she was thirteen. I was fourteen. She looked about fourteen. I was a good fighter, she wasn't. Missing me several times, squealing. She wouldn't make that good of a warrior. I shook my head. "I'm not going to answer you, you know." I said as I noticed her face. It was full of puzzle, and anger. She was going to swing again, and I knew it. Persistent. Very good trait, actually. But annoyed easily. Angry. She'll probably spend more time in a battle complaining than fighting. This girl had short, blonde hair that grew only a few inches above her shoulders. She looked stupid, too. And was thin. Thin, thin, thin. She'll make a stupid warrior. Stupid, stupid, stupid. Now, would this girl get that expression off her face? It was annoying, and foolish. She looked like something a dumb warrior would throw. She was thin. I'd probably be able to pick her up and throw her a mile or something from here. She kept asking me questions, and I gave in. "I know your name because I do. Opal told me. And I won't tell you who she is." I wasn't very interested in explaining everything to this girl. "And my name is Daniel. No nicknames. I hate nicknames." she nodded, but that puzzled face was still on her. I couldn't stand it. I bent over, and hit her. "Stop making that expression! You idiotic girl! You'll die if you keep that on your face." and she screamed. And I realized the mistake I did. She was bleeding on her head...oops?

Chapter Three The Pain! ALLYSON
Gah! I screamed as he hit me on the head. I immediately started crying. It was some type of habit. I didn't want this Daniel boy to think of me as a baby, so I wiped them away. But the blood was flowing down my eyes. I was being blinded by redness. I screamed again. I couldn't stop tears from flowing. It was like my eyes were bleeding, too, except with tears. Daniel leaned over. Was he going to hit me? I moved back immediately. "Don't worry, I won't hit you." he told me softly. I spit out some blood in my lap, and shook my head. I was holding it in one hand. "I promise." he whispered. But I shook my head again. "No." my voice was unstable. "You just hit me. You're bound to...hit...me...again." I was starting to faint, and I knew it. Then my eyes closed. I had fainted. I couldn't remember that much now. What had hit me? Was it a rock? Now I had fainted in the middle of nowhere, and I was just dreaming. Maybe this was all a dream. A dream tied in a dream. I pinched myself. Hard. Nothing happened, and I realized it. This was real! I would have been excited, but a little sad--if only this boy--Daniel--hadn't hit me. I was bleeding. I was going to get him. Who was Opal? How did I get here? I knew Daniel didn't want to play twenty questions, and probably would hit me again if I did. "Sorry, sorry, sorry." he kept apologizing. I opened my eyes slowly. Daniel was fanning me with a leaf. "You okay? Didn't mean to hit you that hard." I wiped my head with a hand, then shrieked at seeing the blood. He shushed me. "Sorry, sorry, sorry." Was that all he would be saying. "It's okay." I lied. It was not okay. Maybe it was, though. Something was telling me he didn't mean it, but something else told me he meant it. Meant to make me bleed. And just because of an expression? That was stupid. I realized he was helping me up, and I fell back down. "I can't...can't stand up.." I stammered. I couldn't even breath correctly! It was in, in, out, in. In, in, out, in. In, in, out, in. I was starting to see three of Daniel, and they all were saying the same things at different times. "I'll...help...I'll...you." I'll help you? No! I just want to stay on the ground, my head bleeding away. I'll help you? No, you won't! "You...just...knocked...me..." I gulped. My head was hurting so badly. "Down." and now my vision was so blurry. I couldn't see now. "I can't see!" I shrieked loudly. "Can you hear me?" Daniel called. I nodded, and then screamed again. Oh, my head! It was hurting so badly! Gah!

Chapter Four You Can't Die! Please, Don't! DANIEL
Okay, now I'm freaking out. Opal told me to help train this girl, not destroy her. I searched my pockets, pulling out different things... Finally, I found a long, cloth bandage. Oh, her head! Her head! It was practically covered in blood! Did I really do that? I felt guilt. Guilt, guilt, guilt. She was having trouble breathing. I wrapped the cloth around the head, but the blood seeped through. The white turned into a terrible red. It was bright, and I wrapped the bandage tighter. She screamed in horror. "Shh.." I whispered, but I knew it would do no good. Besides, I was hurting her. Who wouldn't have screamed? Now, all I felt was guilt; and worry. Would this girl just keep hurting the whole day? "Please! Don't...faint again!" I screamed, and helped her up. It was no use. She collapsed again. I knew a few medicine techniques, from watching this certain nurse heal somebody. But I knew this technique was a life-or-death one, and if I did it wrong...Allyson would die. Could I live with that? No! No! No! I can't. I can't kill somebody! I didn't mean to hit her that hard... But she was screaming. I hit her just because of an expression, how stupid of me! I was frantically going over and over her head, looking to see the blood. It made me sick to my stomach seeing it...but knowing I've caused it? It made me want to hurt myself. My hands had blood all over them when I finished wrapping her head. And my face read, "Fool." That's what I was. A fool. Hitting somebody, just for that face. What would Opal say? Would she...kill me? I suddenly felt very small. I've almost killed Allyson. I need to try, and I knew I would. I put my hands on her head, and concentrated. I was waiting for my hands to start healing her head. Waiting for that glowing blue that I saw the patient's bandage turn into. It was working. No, yes? It was green. Was I killing her? She was screaming in horror, shrieking, turning. I was going to shush her again, when I remembered that pain. I've been in pain before. That boy...I hated him. He hit me on the foot and it broke. I felt hatred. Was that what Allyson would feel? Hatred, and sadness? She was bleeding, not broken. I didn't want her to die! I screamed, "Help!" but I didn't want to. They'll ask who did this. What would I do? Say I did? No! I'll be killed! Say I didn't? No, Allyson would tell the truth! I tried not to feel sick as the blood stained my hands. Allyson's eyes were closing again. "Help....me.....Daniel....you..." she gulped and turned over. "You....you..." she couldn't even form her words correctly. I couldn't hear half of what she was saying. "Yes?" I asked, but my stomach had so many knots in it. "You..." she couldn't spit it out. I frowned. No! Was she going to...die? Her eyes closed. "You..." I looked worried. "Yes? Yes?" I was desperate to hear what she would say. "You...almost...kill--" I stopped listening. I didn't want to hear that mistake again. I was going to scream. Wish all these things away...I wish I could. Save Allyson from dying...I wish I could. My hands were still on her head, her bandage green. Maybe I should stop trying. Maybe it was pointless. Maybe I was making it worse. Maybe I should just stop. But something told me not to. I knew I had to save her. "Don't...I...I don't want to hurt you, Allyson. But this will hurt. Please, try..." I couldn't find the right words! "I can't...can't save you..." I kept tripping over them. "I can't save you without hurting you. Please, don't scream." and I pressed on her head hard, and she shrieked and screamed. I wish I could cover my ears. Her bandage turned into a blue, and I was so glad it was working. Proud, too--well...no. I shouldn't be. I nearly killed this girl. I'm a monster. She'll hate me now, and I was totally fine with it. "Sorry, sorry, sorry!" I kept saying under my breath. I don't think I've hurt anybody to make them bleed like this--that was on our side. Opal told me to watch this girl, to train her, and I go ahead and try to kill her. "Please, don't...don't...don't...hate me!" I finally said. I didn't want to be hated by anybody but the enemy, which wasn't people who I would be battling others with. Allyson was one of these people, and we needed her. And I needed to train her. I needed to answer all her questions. Needed to learn how to be better. Needed...yes, I needed to do all these things. Once she's healed. Once she's better...

Chapter Six I'm Alive? ALLYSON
I'm dead, aren't I? My eyes are blurry, but I can see alright. I can hear alright, or maybe my hearing is actually messed up. Maybe I'm just hearing things. Daniel keeps apologizing, I think he really means in. He didn't mean to hit me that hard, and I shouldn't have been annoying him. But he never said I was annoying him. I kept being mad, then not, then mad. But I kept asking myself if I was dead? I opened my eyes slowly, but steadily. They were still trying to cling shut. Now, Daniel sighed deeply. It was sigh of relief. Maybe he didn't intend to kill me, after all. But would I forgive him that easily? He nearly knocked me out for good. I was about to die. But he was apologizing. But would I just let everybody go and let everybody try to kill me? No. Yes? No. I couldn't find out! At least my breathing was going normal now. The pattern helped me breath better, instead on in, in, out, in, in. But Daniel kept his hand on my head. I had a feeling he was trying to fix the wound. But is that possible? Then, why don't doctors use that method? I've never seen a doctor try this method. Usually, they just wrap it in a bandage and put ointment or whatever. My hair was in my face. It was covering my eyes, and now I felt like nothing. I couldn't feel my arms, or the wound. Of course, a little pain still was in my head. Daniel finally let go of my head. Maybe when he pressed on my head, it helped. But the pain hurt, a lot. He sighed again. "Can you hear me? Please say yes. Can you see me?" I nodded, and started to speak. I was shocked when I heard my voice. It sounded normal. "How'd you heal me?" I asked curiously, but I was still afraid of Daniel. He'd get annoyed, and probably hit me... But he didn't. And I sighed with relief, too. "It's a method. I've seen a nurse do it before." he nodded. "Who's Opal?" I let my questions pour out. If Daniel did kill me, it seemed he was quite worried before--he'd be in big trouble. And I knew it. Maybe it was my fault. For trying to hit him, or maybe it was his. I wasn't quite sure. "Opal is the leader of this little place. I call it the Land Of Dreams, but...there are bad dreams, too. And that is what I used to scare you first. I've been sent to train you. I know your name because Opal had been watching you grow up. She had named you Allyson, and now you...you need to understand that you are a warrior. You'll make a great one. I was lying. You're not stupid. You need to learn, though. Stupid, no, but a little underdeveloped. Come." he grabbed my arm and helped me up. "We have to reach the training arena first." he said, and pulled me towards the left. "Come on."

Chapter Seven Combat! DANIEL
We reached the training arena soon after. "I'm going to teach you how to fight, hand to hand." I told Allyson. She scoffed. "I can do that. I'm in--" I broke her off with a simple hit on the back, and she fell on the ground. I made sure not to hit her that hard; though I had probably given her a very painful hit, but it was simple. "I wasn't ready." she protested, but I shook my head. "You need to always be prepared." I started by showing her a simple stance. We move our hands very nimbly, so that you can't even see them. They are just like blurs. She's panting, and I am, too. We both have been practicing fighting the whole day. I have to admit, she's got potential. And she's really good at fighting, but too cocky. I cracked my fingers, and grinned. I started another stance, and told her. "I'm going to try to fight you, now. And this means we won't have to go easy on each other. Don't kill each other, but give it your all." I said. I cracked my fingers again, and made a stance. "Charge." I told her cockily. I was ready to fight. She came running like a bull towards me, then jumped on me. I flung her off easily. "Don't try a frontward attack like that. You need a strategy." she nodded, holding her arm in one hand. It was probably hurt against the ground. And she closed her eyes, and knelt down. She was thinking, obviously. I couldn't tell what she was mumbling to herself about. When she opened her eyes, they weren't that same black. No. They were white. "What the?" I moved backwards. Now, Allyson looked scary. Freaky, actually. She stood up, made a stance, and then disappeared. I couldn't find her anywhere. But then I heard whispering. It was quiet whispering. Then, I was grabbed on my ankles. "What the?" I screeched, and she pulled me down the ground. "What?" I kept saying. She was definitely strong, and very smart. And quick, that's for sure. She appeared in front of me. My head was sticking out of the ground. "I'm good at this." she mumbled. I nodded, "Yes. Now will you please..." she nodded at me. "Get me out of here!" Allyson kicked the ground--hard--and I jumped back up to my feet. I brushed the dirt off my clothes. They were now stained with mud. "You're good at this, I have to admit." I said reluctantly. Maybe Opal had chosen Allyson for a reason. "Now, we're ready for the dreams. And this time, I'll be the one showing off my skills. You're great at hand to hand combat, and strategies. But we'll see if you're so great at dreams. And nightmares. Oh, I love making nightmares!"

Chapter Eight Blue Jay ALLYSON
He was going to teach me how to make nightmares. I got into a stance, crossing my arms, ready to block. And then he disappeared, again. "Hope you're ready." I heard Daniel say, before I saw him in front of me. He started growing taller, until I was about the size of an ant compared to his shoe. He picked me up by my jacket's hood, and started swinging me around. I was getting dizzy. Daniel was laughing until he threw me in the air, and then kicked me into the forest. Then, I woke up. "That wasn't being ready." he scolded, laughing. I scowled. "You're supposed to teach me, not try to kill me, you know." he nodded. "Sorry about that, now, stand up." he helped me to my feet. "We don't all give out the same nightmares, nor do we give out the same dreams." he stated. I was listening very carefully. "What kind of dreams will you give out?" Daniel asked carefully. "Follow me." he nodded towards a puddle of water, and told me to step in it. I did, then I saw a million blue jays flying towards me, then picked me up. I think he saw it, too. They hovered above the ground until dropping me firmly into my feet. I pinched myself, maybe this was a cool dream of mine. I certainly hoped not. Daniel nodded, grinning. "Blue jays, very unique." he stated. "Never met somebody with that kind of dreams." Daniel laughed lightly. "I got robins, but at least I've studied all the types of birds will determined your dreams." I nodded, then followed him as he walked out of the puddle. Ugh, my shoes! They're wet. He laughed, and then I realized...was he reading my mind? "Yes, of course I'm reading your mind!" he gave me a small shove. "That's what I can do, since I got robins. You got blue jays, so..." he reached into his pocket, then pulled out a big book. How could it fit in there? He skipped through the pages until tossing the book to me. "Read." he nodded. I started reading. I could control water, make all kinds of things by using water. This seemed really awesome to me. He laughed. "Awesome, huh?" Daniel asked, then took the book back. "Now, we need to find you a mentor. I'm not the same type of dream as you, so we need to find you somebody who is." he grinned. "And that, my friend, is Luna. Follow me, she's probably back at her house." he dragged me over the grassless fields, and I skipped along. The purple sky was dotted with different clouds, and I saw lots of green trees surrounding. "Look at that tree!" I exclaimed, looking at a pink tree. "Sakura, sakura." I heard Daniel whisper, then stared at a tiny cottage. I could hear music from the inside.
"Luna, it's Daniel." he said. I watched as a beautiful girl opened the door. She had light red hair and green eyes. And freckles, lots of freckles. "Oh, hello." she spoke in a very delicate voice. "Come in, come in." she urged us forward and into the little cottage. I realized she was playing some wooden clarinet inside. "So that was the beautiful music." I thought. Daniel grinned. "This here is Allyson. She's got your type of dreams, so I need you to teach her the simple stances and how to do...your dream." he nodded, then stepped aside. "Opal told you to train her?" Luna asked delicately. It sounded as if she were confirming. "Well, that's great. I know you will become a wonderful warrior, Allyson." I nodded. Maybe I did belong in this grassless, purple-skied world. Luna took me outside; her eyes were sparkling with excitement. She smiled at me. "Now, since you're new, I'll have to teach you step by step." Luna grinned. "First, you need to relax. I can tell you're not, because of your eyes. It's lit up with worry." she calmed, her excitement just washing away. Luna made a stance. "Now, think of something." she closed her eyes, and when she opened them, I watched as water just exploded into the air and surrounded her in a bubble. Her voice was muffled, but I still could hear what she was saying. "Think of water. Be creative." I nodded, and closed my eyes. I was thinking of a water dragon. Immediately, I got into a stance that Daniel had taught me, and watched as a blue dragon emerged from the ground and surrounded me in protection. It growled, and then sprang upwards. "Great, you've got good technique." I nodded with a smile. "Thanks." I said. Luna got into another stance and started charging. Water came out of all of her hits; and I noticed that she was using the tips of her fingers to charge--not her fists. "Try this." she told me as she continued charging, I was blocking her with my elbows, and they were stinging terribly. I tried what she was doing, water springing up from my finger tips. I don't know why, but automatically I felt like I knew what battle moves to do soon. I gave her a kick, water coming from my toes. While she was busy blocking, I grabbed her foot with my hand and flipped. Luna landed on the floor. She gasped, "You're good." she nodded. "Now, let's fight, for real. No holding back, give this fight your all." she grinned and got into another stance. I could tell she was trying to block. I swung my arm to her head, but she blocked with a group of water swiveling around her. But I grabbed her foot and caught her off balance, and she fell to the ground. "You're good at combat, I have to admit. But you need to use your dreams, too. And nightmares." she grinned at me, and then closed her eyes. Was she thinking? When she opened them, mine opened, too. Where was I now? I saw Luna in front of me, and she threw little balls of water towards me. I blocked them with my hands, slicing through the water then using my dreams to stop them. I imagined myself throwing a wave at Luna, and stood as I controlled the waving waters and blew it towards Luna. "Ah!" she squealed and blocked with her own water.
She opened her eyes and rubbed them. "That was great." she nodded towards me. "Now, let's keep doing this battle." Luna made a stance and I did, too. But I was flashed into some other place and she was being carried on blue jays. "I thought we only could control water." I shouted towards her. There was a sound of water in my ears. She smiled. "And blue jays." but I turned around, and noticed that the blue jays were only a distraction. A wave was coming towards me. I closed my eyes and concentrated. I knew what I was going to do; I planned it out carefully now. My eyes open, I smiled. A large blue jay flew down from the sky, landing on the ground as I watched the wave coming closer. I hopped onto the large bird, and it flew into the sky. "Water dragon!" I shouted above the water, and watched as the dragons flew up from the waves and into the sky. They were shooting water at Luna, and she stood there trying to block. Little blue jays surrounded me and shot water, too, then flew gently in the air. I landed, then my eyes opened. I saw Luna in front of me, rubbing her eyes again. "Great." Luna told me. She stood up. "You've better get to Opal soon. I'll train with you again." Daniel went next to her. "How was she?" he asked. "Good." he smiled slightly. "Come on, Allyson." he called to me. I nodded, and we started back towards the blue moon in the dark-purple sky, where Daniel said Opal with me.
