But having a father be there for you as well as your country is even harder. Hiroshi loved his father, and he knew he loved him in return. But he had to do what was right. Hiroshi’s father had gotten a call into war when Hiroshi was just seven years old. And since he had no one else to look after him, his father enrolled him in an orphanage temporarily just until he came back home for good. Obviously, that’s easier said than done. Because a year later, news past by that fifty of Japan’s soldiers were shot down, including Hiroshi’s father. It was then that Hiroshi was now permanently part of the orphanage, living there with other kids who have either been neglected, beaten, or even have the same story as him. He tried to make friends with the other kids, but being at such a young and tender age, he can’t help but stay a loner.
One of the boys at the orphanage seemed to be following him as the year past by though. As if he wasn’t going to stop until he got noticed. Hiroshi gave in, and befriended the boy, and pretty soon, turning that friendship into a more affectionate type of relationship. In his head anyway. Hiroshi knew it wouldn’t be right for a boy his age to get these sort of feelings for someone of the same gender. He couldn’t help it though. This boy was different to him. He understood him, and was always there to comfort him whenever he felt emotions ride up inside. At some points he even wondered what it would be like to kiss him. Not that he’s ever kissed anyone in his life before. But it was something he was willing to try.
Before he got to however, more news got around to the orphanage saying that more of their troops have been killed in battle, and many of the kids were to transfer over to another orphanage in order for the new kids to have a place to stay. Hiroshi was one of the few who had to move. And unfortunately, he had to move away from his only friend too. He was in the states now, but lucky for him, before he got comfortable in the new strange place, a man came in looking to adopt, Hiroshi was the one chosen to come live with him.
