Let’s just say Bryan wasn’t exactly the kind of guy Lindsey thought he was. ~Peter Corner (ages 15-17) - Lindsey long-time boyfriend of two years. Needless to say, they were perfect for eachother. Lindsey still doesn’t know what happened, but two months before her 18th birthday and the night before her theater show, he broke up with her. Whether it was because of a rumor or what, Lindsey to this day still doesn’t know what happened. Family: Lindsey has always been confident and flirty, much like she is today. But unlike her younger self, she has a piece of her missing. Three pieces to be exact. I’ll start from the beginning. It was the year 2002, Lindsey lived with her mother and father and younger sister in Florida. The sunshine state you may say. And her family certainly was a sunshine indeed. Lindsey loved her family. She didn’t know what she would do without them. They were just all so supportive of her, and her choice to be in the theater.
Then the day came. It was a cool windy day. Throughout the day it got windier though. Lucky for the family, everyone was home. While Lindsey and her sister, Autumn, were playing in the other room, their parents were watching the news. A strong hurricane had picked up from the other side of town, and was coming their way! Immediately, their parents grabbed their two daughters attention and led them down to their basement where they had everything they needed. Except of course, the emergency kit which was left outside in the shed. Their father got up the courage to quickly run out to grab the case while the wind was still sort of calm. But as soon as he was headed back to the house, a tree was knocked down, landing on their father. Unfortunately they didn’t get the chance to check on their father until after the hurricane was over. Which was about two hours later. Fortunately, he wasn’t dead, just badly injured. And they rushed him over to the hospital ASAP; as did most of the other townspeople. He was in the hospital for at least two or three months with his family by his side every step of the way, when his heart finally gave out.
A few years had passed and neither the girls nor their mother had missed a day without thinking about their father and how courageous he was to them. Unfortunately again, another sorrowful event occurs. Lindsey and Autumn’s mother finds out that she has had breast cancer for about a year and its spread far enough to where she has to stay in the hospital for who knows how long. Another long year passed by, and when the girls were on their way from school to visit their mother, they find out that the breast cancer had beat her. So having no one else to turn to, the girls were sent to live at an orphanage together. And just after Lindsey turned nineteen, a man and woman came walking in wanting to adopt. They looked around, from one orphan to the next, until they finally decided on Lindsey. Both girls tried persuading the couple to adopt the both of them together, but they wouldn’t have it. They wanted just Lindsey and Lindsey is what they got.
After a few years of living with the man and woman then, Lindsey decided that after two years of community college, she wanted to further her theater career. By moving across the Country to California. They supported her like loving foster parents, and even gave her extra money for when she got there, at least enough to buy a cheap little apartment till she got herself a job. And little did she know, that the town Lindsey moved to, Riverside, was the same town that her sister, Autumn was in. She couldn’t have been more ecstatic to have been able to finally see her sister after what seemed like forever.
