Vic nodded and gave her a faint smile, "Thanks. I really don't want to be..." He blushed a bright shade of red. He'd already said that, she didn't want to hear it again. He looked down at the ground and licked his lips as they walked. He shook his head lightly, glad for the quick change in subject. "Oh, well that sucks. I mean--I slack off all the time, so I know the wonders of procrastinating. I know the horrors of it as well, but what are you gonna do?" He smiled, feeling a bit more comfortable in this conversation than in the other. "But yeah, I definitely understand wanting to have fun."

Sophie smiled back at him, confused about the sudden blush that had spread across his face. What's he blushing for? There's nothing for him to be embarrassed about. She thought that his behavior was rather sweet and considerate. It was just another thing to add to her rapidly growing lists of reasons why she liked Vic so much. If anything, she should have been the one blushing. "Yeah procrastination's a lot of fun," she said, continuing to steer the conversation towards a less personal topic. "For some reason, things seem more fun when there's something else you're supposed to be doing instead. I guess there's this sort of rebel thing to it. Like the other day, I did a crossword puzzle instead of doing my chemistry homework. It was ten times better than some of the other crossword puzzles I've done in my life."

Vic laughed and nodded, "Yeah, I guess you could call it rebellious in a way," he said thoughtfully. "I mean, your parents and teachers always tell you not to procrastinate, but we do it anyway. I've never thought of myself as a rebel, but now I'm going to say I am." He smiled and looked over at her, "Thank you for my new found point of view." He grinned and nodded, "I agree. Playing with a cat seems much more satisfying when you're supposed to be doing homework."

Sophie burst out laughing. "You're very welcome," she said, trying to hold back some of her laughter. She was laughing so hard that she could feel tears starting to form in her eyes. That was definitely a first for her. She paused for a second and cleared her throat in an attempt to calm herself down. "I'm so glad that I could help you discover this part of yourself. Now you're a cute, sweet, hilarious rebel that plays with cats and is a whiz at coloring pictures inside the lines. You're awesome." Her tone might have been teasing, but she truly meant what she said; he was awesome. "If you ever need someone to procrastinate with, I'm your girl. As long as there's not a test or something coming up. I'm a pretty big crammer."

Vic smiled as she started laughing. Score. In all honesty that had been his goal. To make her laugh so that he didn't feel like such an idiot all the time. He licked his lips and shook his head, "Yeah because coloring in the lines and rebellion aren't contradictory at all," he said with another chuckle. He shook his head again and looked back to the sand. He grinned, "Thanks for the offer. I mean, I love my kittens, but apparently it isn't cool to be that guy who sits around and plays with his cats while everyone else hangs out with actual people."

"Actually, coloring in the lines can be rebelling in a way," Sophie replied with a smirk. "Coloring inside the lines isn't really a rebellious act at all, so you can say that you're rebelling against the whole concept of rebellion." She giggled as her cheeks flushed bright red. "I swear that made more sense in my brain." As the sun began to beat down on her, she headed over to the edge of the ocean and dipped her feet in. "Awwww you don't have to thank me. I consider it a real honor to hang out with you. I don't really have any friends myself."

Vic nodded lightly, "Oh yeah. I've always wanted to rebel against rebellion. Sounds quite rebellious indeed," he said with a huge grin. He shook his head lightly and followed her down to the ocean, taking his flip-flops off before he stepped into the water as well. He looked up at the sky and smiled before looking back at her, "Well maybe we should fix that. We should both find some more friends and then we can share them with each other," he said with a grin.

Sophie grinned and sat down on the sand, stretching out her legs and allowing them to get splashed by the incoming waves. "Oh it's definitely rebellious," she said, glancing up at him. "You'll be real popular with the girls at school, I'm sure. I know some girls tend to really go for the rebellious, bad-boy type." Despite chuckling after the words came out of her mouth, she actually believed some of what she said. She was positive that the girls at school would eventually notice how sweet he was and would start coming after him in droves. "Yeah, maybe we should find a group of cool people to hang out with sometime. But I'm kind of enjoying hanging out with just you right now." She turned away from him and looked up at the sky, her eyes lazily following a seagull that had just flown by.

Vic shrugged lightly, a smile still apparent, gently resting on his lips. He nodded again, "Yeah. They'll start calling me The Vic, instead of just Vic. Cause I'll be like a Convict," he slowed down as he got to the word 'convict' and then blushed. The joke was really stupid and it didn't really even deserve a laugh. He chuckled lightly and licked his lips, "Sorry. That one just slipped out..." He reached up and rubbed the back of his neck with his hand. He smiled lightly at her words, shrugging again. It seemed to be the most prominent motion he had right now. "I don't know why. All I do is tell dumb jokes and sound like a moron." He chuckled to show that he was just teasing, but in actuality he believed what he was saying about himself.

Sophie laughed so hard that she snorted a few times. "Sorry, those slipped out too," she said, her face turning redder than it had before. "I usually don't snort. I swear, I don't. I didn't even realize I could snort until I met you. I guess I've never really laughed this hard before....." She trailed off and sighed, knowing fully well that nobody had ever made her laugh like that in her entire life. "Your jokes aren't dumb. If they were dumb, I wouldn't be laughing at all. And you're definitely not a moron. In fact, I think you're pretty cool." She moved scooted herself further down the sand, allowing the water to come up to her waist.

Vic blushed and shrugged lightly. He knew the jokes were dumb and she was probably just laughing to make him feel better. He shook his head, "You don't have to say that. I'm sure they're annoying, but thank you for acting amused." He looked up at the sky and smiled. "So you know the stories of the stars? I like to make my own up." He could see a few single stars start to twinkle in the night. "Like Cassiopeia? She was a quess who was forced to sit on her throne forever in the sky or something? I think she really likes the stars and acted like she hated them so that the people would give her that punishment. She must have been a smart lady. Now she gets to rule over the universe for eternity. And she gets a whole five stars that are all hers."

"You're welcome," Sophie said as she looked up at the sky. "I'm not acting with you though. I actually think you're funny. I can't understand why you'd think I was pretending, unless...." She turned back to look at him, her light blue eyes twinkling with laughter. "Unless you're pretending to be amused by me." She laughed and glanced back up at the sky, her attention completely focused on his story and the stars. "Wow, she gets five stars? I wouldn't even know what to do with just one star. All I can really think of doing is bragging about it to people, but I doubt that anybody would really believe me. How can you tell which stars are hers anyways?"

Vic shook his head very seriously, still looking up at the sky. "Not pretending in the slightest," he said as he searched the sky for where the queen of the night sky might be. He pointed when he found one of her stars. "There," he said. "See how there's two right there that are really bright? She's right there. Those two aren't connected, though. It's...." he made a zig zag, pointing out the five stars that constructed the mythological figure. "She's the wife of King Cepheus who ruled over Ethiopia. She was beautiful, apparently, but she was really arrogant. She was more beautiful than the daughters of Nereus, which was a sea god. That really pissed off Poseidon and he had a sea monster named Cetus destroy the whole country. The only way they could save the country was to sacrifice Andromeda, their daughter. They chained her to a rock, but Perseus, a demigod, saved her. I think he was the son of Zeus. Anyway, since Poseidon didn't think that Cassiopeia could escape punishment, he prisoned her in the stars. She sits upside down for half of the year, it's supposed to be torture, but I don't think that eternity in the stars would be so bad..." He looked over at her and then blushed, looking away. "Sorry. I--uh--get caught up in the story sometimes..."

Not pretending in the slightest..... His words caused Sophie to blush yet again. Luckily for her, the sky was growing darker. In a few more minutes, he probably wouldn't be able to see her red face at all. "Oh wow, I can see her now," she said, her eyes following the imaginary pattern that he was tracing with his fingers. "I've probably seen those stars a million times before without realizing how special they are. I'll definitely look at them more differently now." She sighed as she allowed his story to distract from what she really had to tell him. She knew that she had to tell him sooner or later, but she just wanted to sit back and enjoy spending time with him before things got too complicated. "That's alright. I actually liked that story. Do you know any more?"

Vic shrugged his shoulders lightly. "Uhm, well... Orion was a hunter. There was a girl that he liked and he basically jumped her, I don't remember her name, but her father found out and blinded him. He had to travel to get himself healed. He crossed paths with Odysseus at some point, y'know, like Homer's The Oddyssey? I don't really remember much else of him, but Zeus was the one who immortalized him in the stars." He shrugged gently. "Uhm, that's all I know about the stars to be honest. I really like Greek Mythology, but Cassiopeia is the only one who I really learned much about. Because of the Andromeda story..."
