"Guess not, the answer is kind of obvious." Shane said, still not looking at her. He couldn't take the chance that she may still be crying. Shane shook his head. "Negative? Your attitude doesn't even begin to describe negative." Shane didn't consider the way she'd been acting to be negative. So she may have jumped off the bridge. The way Shane saw it, suicide was taking the cowards way out, he'd been there and done that. "Trust me, I know all about being negative."

Abigail let out a sigh, utterly frustrated with the blonde boy. Yeah, she knew that he didn't owe her a damn thing, not sympathy or even courtesy, but that didn't mean she didn't need it. It that moment, she really did. She knew, for sure, that she wouldn't be getting it from him. Pushing the covers off of herself, she stood, stretching. Looking down, she saw the yellowing bruise on her arm and bit her lip. That was made her begin to worry about her best friend in the first place, sure, she had slept with him behind her back, but she didn't know what kind of guy he was. Abby looked at him again. "Yeah. Guess it is." She muttered. "And maybe you do." She was quiet, not knowing what to do with a complete stranger, who already knew too much in her dorm room. "Anyway," Abby looked away, "Azalia isn't here now, but I'll make sure she get's the package." She figured he had much better things to do than stand there and force himself to talk to her out of pity. Plus, she didn't think she wanted to see whatever judging look she would get from him.

Shane's frown never left his face as he looked up to see the girl stand and stretch. He couldn't help but notice the bruises on her arm, his frown growing more pronounced. She couldn't have gotten the bruise from jumping, it didn't look fresh enough. Shane found himself wondering where she got the bruise from, and why she'd jumped. What do I care? He asked himself, shaking his head. He didn't care, he didn't know the girl, why should he care? Shane ignored her comment, crossing his arms. "Why did you jump?" Shane was never one to sugar coat anything, and if he talked it was usually blunt and too the point.

Abigail didn't think she could take any more of his scrutiny and looked away from his gaze. She could still feel his eyes on her though. When he asked her that question though, her eyes shot to his and she looked at him, really looked at him, her gaze unwavering. Why did he care? No, he didn't care, about her anyway, that much was evident in his demeanor and his tone. She wanted to just tell him to leave and that it was none of his business whether she had jumped or not, especially why she jumped. But, she didn't. No matter how bad she was feeling inside, and out, for some reason she didn't want to be alone. If the blonde stranger was all she had right now, she guessed she would take it. Her eyes fell to the floor before rising again. "Do you really want to know?" She asked, waiting for him to confirm her thoughts and just leave. After all, he had no obligations to her anyway. "I mean, you don't even know me. Why bother?"

Shane stopped himself from sighing and uncrossed his arms, going over to sit on Azalia's bed. "I wouldn't have asked if I didn't." He shrugged, standing again and going over to Lia's fridge, opening it to find a few monsters in there and nothing else. Grabbing one he turned back to the girl. "You keep saying I don't know you, I think we've established that fact." He went back to sit on Lia's bed, opening the can and taking a drink, waiting for her answer. He knew he was being a bit harsh, but he really didn't know how to be less blunt, and he didn't want to seem like he actually cared - because he didn't - and he could do without yet another girl clinging to him. He'd had enough of that in the past to last him a life time.

Abby's lips parted slightly as she looked away from him once again, shaking her head. He was infuriating and had her curiosity spiked all at the same time. She probably didn't need his attitude right now, and couldn't imagine why in the hell she was debating telling him. She didn't even know his name, not that they were in any position to exchange names anyway. She perched on the edge of her bed. Abigail's blue eyes traveled back to him, a snarky comment on the tip of her tongue. It would be so easy just call him a few vulgar names and get it over with, she's have him out of her life, most likely. But the words tumbled out of her mouth before she could stop them. "I'm weak. A fucking pathetic coward, okay?" She was surprising even herself. "My boyfriend, who beat the crap out of me on a regular basis, has been cheating on me with my best friend for months. And you know the worst part? I put up with it because I was terrified of what he'd do to me." She didn't know what was going on with her filter, it was just pouring out. "I jumped because I've never felt so damn alone in my life." Her once angry voice grew quiet, softer with her next words. She looked at her lap, her eyes watering. "My sister died a year ago today. She was only seven." The whole situation seemed far fetched, even to her, and she lived the whole thing. She half expected the blond to just shake his head and walk away, and she wouldn't blame him. Baggage scared a lot of people away, and that is what made the tear fall, sliding down her cheek. Abby angrily swiped it away, she hated feeling so vulnerable.

Shane waited for her answer, taking another swig of his drink. He was still trying to figure out why he was still here with this girl. She obviously wanted nothing to do with him, why was he still sticking around? Maybe it was because she was blonde, he seemed to have a soft spot for blonde girls. I said I was done with them. They've caused me nothing but trouble. He thought bitterly. When she began talking, it startled him out of his thoughts. When she spoke about her boyfriend, he felt a strange desire to...help her? He didn't know, and he didn't want to know. Shane had just about decided to leave when he saw a tear slide down her cheek. "Shit." He shook his head, placing the Monster on the ground next to him and leaning over to rest on his knees. "This boyfriend of yours, is he still around?" If there was one thing that bothered Shane, other than girls crying, was hearing about guys that beat on girls. His ex girlfriend had had the same problem when he'd met her. She'd been running from her boyfriend when she'd literally run into him. Let's just say the boyfriend ended up in the hospital that night.

Abigail shrugged, she really didn't want to think about him. It wasn't pleasant, nor did it stop the tears from forming traitorously in her eyes. She wanted to be okay. She wanted to leave it all behind. Most of all, she didn't want to let him control her anymore, not with fear, and not for some sick form of love. "Honestly, I don't know where he is." She said, a shiver running down her back. "I'm sure he'll come back around soon though. He always does." Abby was really dreading it, and hoped to god that she would walk away without yet another bruise marring her skin. She wished she could handle things on her own, like she had every time before, but now she had no hope. She found herself unable to see beyond the pain, something that used to be the only thing that had kept her going. Abigail played with a frayed end of her bedspread, rolling the stray thread in between her fingers. "I'm stupid, aren't I?" She asked, looking at him again. "For staying with him." She knew she was stupid, and weak for becoming putty in his hands every time he looked at her with those eyes. Every time he apologized, and told her he loved her. It was all lies, he did not know how to love. She should have seen it from the beginning.

Shane was getting angry. Why? He didn't know...or actually, he did know and didn't really want to admit it. He didn't know the girl, and yet the fact that she was still with the guy who obviously abused her and didn't care for her irritated him. "If he comes back..." Shane wasn't really sure what to tell her. For some reason, he wanted to protect her from this guy. It wouldn't be hard to help either. Since she lived with his sister, all he needed was for Lia to even suggest that something weird was going on and he couldn't be here in a heartbeat. Shane shook his head at his thoughts, fighting a sigh. "Yes, you are." He said in answer to her question. "If he hurts you, then leave. It doesn't make sense for you to stay with a guy who doesn't care about you at all."

Abigail had no intention of staying with him, especially after she had finally told someone what he did to her on a regular basis. How she had ever let it get this bad, she didn't know. There was no doubt that she was a shell of the person she had once thought herself to be. Abby used to be strong, she used to be fearless. He took that from her. He took her safety. He took her heart. He took her, and threw it all away, leaving her broken and alone to pick up the pieces time after time. With a sweep of his hand, he stole her innocence, maybe even her purity and she had nobody to blame but herself for letting it happen. "I know." She sighed, bringing her lip in between her teeth. "I told him to go fuck himself last night and he fed me some bullshit story about how I'll be back." She left out the part where he threatened her as she walked away. "I won't." She said, even though she wasn't as sure that he wouldn't do what he threatened to do as she wanted to be. Abby's eyes drifted back to his blue ones, wondering what he was still doing there, in that room with her. She didn't even know his name, yet she was spilling everything to him. Maybe that was what made it easier for her, the anonymity. Maybe it was the fact that as soon as he left the room, they probably wouldn't have anything to do with each other anymore.

Shane allowed a small chuckle to escape his lips, leaning back against the wall, after picking up his monster. He took a small swig of the drink, trying to figure out what to say to this girl. He couldn't say what he wanted to, how she was absolutely stupid for allowing herself to get into this type of situation. He'd dealt with guys like this before, and chances were this guy wasn't going to let her get away so easily, if he was anything like the last guy Shane had encountered. I don't even know why I give a fuck... It was starting to piss him off actually, the fact that he felt like he needed to help this girl. It was the same feeling that had gotten him in trouble last time. "Does this guy know where you stay?" Shane asked then. If he did, then that would give him reason to be here more, since that would end up putting Lia in danger as well. At least, it would in Shane's mind.

Abby wanted to believe that she didn't need anybody's help. That she could do it on her own. That she wasn't as vulnerable as she was. She wanted to believe that this complete and utter stranger wasn't the only one who had the slightest idea of what had been happening to her. She wanted to believe he cared, even though he probably didn't. He didn't seem like the type to care about people he didn't know, nor did he have any obligation to. "Yes." She muttered in answer to his question. It was going to be hard to avoid him, only because he seemed to show up everywhere. She was forced to look alway from the blond and watched a suddenly very interesting picture on the wall above his head. Her eyes darted to the closed door, though, when a very distinct knock resounded through the room. Abigail tried her best to keep the fear from entering her eyes, but failed when his voice made its way through the thin wood. "I know you're there, Abs." She suddenly felt bad that the stranger she nearly singed the night before was stuck in this situation with her. "You should just go." She said quietly. "I'll deal with him."

Shane slowly shook his head from side to side, lowering his drink back to the ground. Of course he knew where she lived, not knowing would make this too easy for Shane. He wouldn't be able to leave her alone now, especially since this would inevitably put his sister in danger too. He turned his attention to the door as he too heard the knock, and then stared in disbelief as the girl told him he should leave. Was she serious? He could practically feel the fear rolling off her. "You're kidding. You think I'm gonna leave you here by yourself, with him, after you just told me what he did to you? Look, I may be an asshole but I'm not evil." He stood, turning to the door.

Abigail looked down at the ground and quickly stood when the blonde turned towards the door. She placed a tentative hand on his arm. "What are you going to do?" She asked. Abby wasn't worried about what would happen to the sad excuse for a man on the other side of the door, she only knew that if the person beside her were hurt because he happened to run into her again, she would be left responsible. The guilt she would surely feel would be far worse than if she were hurt herself. "I know you don't have any obligation, so why? Hell, I don't even know your name." He knocked again, her eyes glancing at the wood again. A muffled 'I just want to talk.' drifted through the door. Abigail shook her head. "He won't touch your sister, if that's what your worried about." The hand she placed trailed down his arm a little before dropping to her side. "I'm not worth the trouble, trust me." She finished, her eyes descending to the floor.

"Not sure yet." Shane answered. He wouldn't do anything first, but he would be here just in case this guy decided to try something. He glanced over at her. "It's Shane." His eyes went back to the door when the man claimed to just "want to talk", but he was sure he wanted to do more than talk. Shane crossed his arms, watching the girl. "That's where you're wrong. You've really got to up your self-esteem."
