Marissa relaxed a bit when Kavi responded to the kiss, her eyes closing. When she felt his lips part against hers she pulled away slightly, opening her eyes to look at him. She suddenly realized she was way less experienced than he was, considering he did have a kid and all, and Marissa felt a bit shy about it.

Kavi noticed her jerk and pulled away, looking to the couch as if ashamed. He stared at the ground for a couple seconds before moving so he was just sitting next to her again. "Sorry..." He mumbled through biting his lower lip. He gave her an awkward, weak smile before picking up the remote and bouncing it a little. "Why... Why don't we finish the movie, then?" Not that he wouldn't mind not watching the movie by now, his hormones more than just a little riled up, but he knew if they didn't start the movie again, his mother would get curious about what exactly was going on in her living room.

"I-It's okay." Marissa hadn't meant for him to pull away, but maybe now she could cool her head and try to slow her now speeding heart. She nodded, settling back on the couch and waiting for him to start the movie again. She couldn't help but be hyper aware of the boy she was currently leaning against though, and had a hard time paying attention to the movie. She glanced up at him several times, blushing lightly each time.

Kavi started the movie, glancing at Marissa every so often, equally as hyper aware of her presence on him. As casually as he could, he pulled her closer to him, so she could now rest on his chest if she wanted to. Now paying more attention to the girl next to him than the movie, which was fine with him; he'd already seen it so many times.

Marissa glanced up at Kavi, catching him watching her. She wasn't even sure what was going on in the movie anymore, but it didn't matter. She bit her lip as a light blush dusted her cheeks again. She wanted to kiss him again, and truthfully the feelings she was having were a bit strong, and very unfamiliar, and they kind of scared her. But she wasn't sure if he still wanted to kiss her after the way she'd reacted.

Kavi could only smile softly at noticing her blush, leaning down and giving her another kiss on the forehead. He could tell she was watching the movie as much as he was, but let it keep playing in the background anyway. Pulling away slightly, only to look at her better, he gave her a coy grin, "Was that your first kiss?" He asked her just loud enough to hear over the movie, trying not to make it obvious how ready he was to play with it if she said it was.

Marissa lowered her gaze after he kissed her forehead, blushing even deeper at his question. She nodded lightly, a bit embarrassed, especially when he grinned at her. Here she was, sixteen years old and just now having her first kiss with a guy who already had a daughter. Not that him having one bothered her, it was just the fact that she knew so little compared to him.

Kavi's grin widened as he pushed her playfully but gently. "Get out. You really were sheltered, huh?" He teased her. He knew he wasn't "the norm" when it came to when someone had their first kiss, but he knew a lot of sixteen year olds who'd had their first kiss by then. "Did you get like, home-schooled or something?" He asked her, now just purely curious.

Marissa pouted, crossing her arms and looking away. "Yes, I was home-schooled." She looked over at the t.v, shrugging lightly. "My parents didn't believe in public schools, and they were too cheap to send me to private school. So they took it upon themselves to hire me a private tutor." She looked up at him, biting her lip. "I was never let out of the house. The first I'd been outside was when I ran away. But I'm glad I did." She smiled lightly. "I wouldn't have met you otherwise..."

Kavi's eyes widened. He had never been one for the outdoors, but he couldn't imagine never being able to go outside. As it was, he and Akio were going to school on their own by the time they were in third grade when they were in Korea. His heart went out to the girl in front of him, she seemed to have suffered so much before she ran away, and suddenly he could agree it was probably best she had done so. He relaxed again, letting her relax too if she wanted. "I can't imagine that. But you're right. Everything happens in life for a reason, if you hadn't run away and been in the park at the exact time and day I had promised Kyon we could go to the park after school..." His voice faded off. Marissa, though she cleaned up amazingly well, didn't look so good when he had first seen her in the park. He didn't want to think what could've happened to her had they never found each other.

Marissa rested her head on his chest, smiling. She was glad that she'd met him. She had been running out of money, and would hate to think what she would've had to do if she hadn't run into him. "I'm glad I ran into you...I was running out of money when you showed up. I don't know what I would've done if I hadn't met you." She looked up at him, kissing him lightly on the chin before ducking her head again.

"I don't even want to think about it." Kavi replied simply, looking at the television though not necessarily watching the movie playing on it. He wrapped his arm around her shoulders, holding her protectively. So what if he was falling head over heels for a girl he had met barely twelve hours before. He had a habit of falling hard when he did fall, and if he was going to experience heartbreak again, then so be it. Besides, something seemed different with Marissa, besides the fact that he was older, wiser, and better understood what those "feelings" going on in the pit of his stomach were, especially better than the girl sitting next to him would. He looked at her with just his eyes and tried to stop a sigh from escaping. Why do I get the feeling she's never had a sex-ed course in her life? He thought to himself, the sigh escaping only a little bit after he had begun fighting it away.

Marissa curled against Kavi, trying not to think about it herself. She couldn't help it though, her only two choices would've been to return home, which would have been impossible or... Marissa shuddered, shaking the thought out of her head. She looked up at Kavi, blushing lightly when she felt her heart jump a bit and a strange tingling in her belly. She bit her lip, glancing at the movie, not even sure what was going on anymore, only to look back up at Kavi when she heard his tiny sigh. "What's wrong?" She asked softly.

Kavi looked down at her, "Hmm?" He smiled, "Oh... Nothing. A-Are you even watching this still?" He asked her, his smile still on his face. "Did you want to just go to sleep? It's gotten pretty late already." He said, also telling it to himself. He hoped his mother had taken the liberty of putting MinKyon to bed.

Marissa shook her head lightly at his question. "No, I actually have no idea what's going on." She confessed, shrugging. She wasn't exactly tired, but she figured it was because she was still with Kavi. "Um...where am I sleeping?"
