Past: Junsu’s life was pretty normal. He lived in Daegu, South Korea, which is in the south east. He was an only child of a business man, and his mother was a secretary-turned-housewife. When Junsu graduated high school, he felt he wasn't yet ready for college and instead did the mandatory two year military service, but after only six months got permission to be discharged after he found out his parents had died in a car crash. He took about six months getting his life back together before applying to college in Seoul, about three hours and fifteen minutes north west from his hometown, hoping to have a new life. He went through the first semester alone, still working on piecing his life together.
During the second semester, he took an English class, and met Ms. Kita, who was there as an English teacher for a semester. He instantly became close to her, and began forming a bond similar to that a mother and son would have. After finding out he was recently orphaned, Ms. Kita felt heartbroken, extending the offer to Junsu to become a part of her family. At first, it was unofficial, but soon enough, Junsu shyly came up to Ms. Kita with documentation that would make him officially a part of the family. Ms. Kita happily signed the documents, but found the necessary loop holes to let Junsu stay a Korean citizen even though he was being adopted into an American family.
Junsu is now staying in Riverside under a student visa. He hopes to return to Korea after he graduates, whether permanently or temporarily depends on whether his soon-to-be-wife, Autumn Fosterling, likes it in Korea.
