She picked up the quilts, shook them out and folded them over her arm before following Monte as he made his way back to his car. Aya quirked a brow when he stopped and pulled out her phone, frowning at him. "You know he deserves better than that Monte; he's never done wrong to me." She took her phone from his hands and exited her phone book before slipping it back into the confines of her pocket. Aya put her hand in Monte's as she made her way to the car. "I'll do it soon though, I promise."

He hung his head defeated for a second, but she was right, the guy had never done anything wrong to either of them and it was bad enough that things had to end the way they were with Aya and Dan. He continued on to the car in silence, thrilled that sometime in the next couple of days he'd be able to have Aya back fully, but annoyed that to get her, he'd come in between something good. He'd get over it, but in the broad scope of things he was simply adding another enemy to his long list.

She opened the door but paused to look at him. "We'll be fine." Aya managed a soft smile at him and was tempted to lean forward to kiss him but she knew that that was probably a dumb thing to do if it would lead to more than just kissing. Not that Aya didn't want it because she did. But even she knew that it wouldn't have been a wise decision because she was still technically with Dan. Though they had never really made things official, their relationship had been leading to that.
Aya bit her lip, a worried frown creasing her brow as she looked away from Monte and slid into the seat. She didn't want to worry him but the guilt was already eating up her insides like a furious ulcer that would not let up. She wrung her fingers over the quilt and blinked a few times as a dozen thoughts entered and left her mind in seconds. She was thinking about how to do it, when and where and how to muster up enough courage to even tell Dan the truth.

Monte closed her door for her and made his way to his side of the car. He got in and with a quick look in her direction he started the car and started back to her place. Every once in a while he'd glance in her direction, she seemed preoccupied with something and he didn't want to bother her, but it started to eat at him. He stopped the car in front of her house and set his hands in his lap, not sure what he should say to her. "I'll see you soon then?"

Aya jumped a bit, startled that they had arrived so quickly. She knew it was for the best but she hated it all the same. She forced a smile to her face as she undid her seatbelt and turned to face Monte. Aya nodded and leaned close, wanting to wrap her arms around his neck. "Yeah, soon... I love you." She managed to whisper without her voice breaking. For some reason, she just felt incredibly emotional at the moment. Maybe it was just hormones. "I'll call you okay? Don't you dare think about giving me space again or I will come at you with a baseball bat." She pulled away and looked him in the eye, biting her bottom lip to keep from grinning like a loon. She had been kidding about the baseball bat; for the most part anyway.

He was glad she moved in close, it gave him the OK to wrap his arms around her neck without feeling like he was pushing his luck. He squeezed her tight and lightly kissed her cheek, pulling away from her quickly when she did to make sure he kept himself in check. "Should I walk you to your door or uh...maybe I should just wait here until you get the door. I love you too." Those words came easy to him unlike the rest of his sentences. "If I do, then I'll be expecting that baseball bat." He smiled and turned on the car again.
