Grocery shopping was the least favorite of Hadee's chores. Honestly, he'd be happy just grabbing hot chocolate mix, Lucky Charms, and some milk and heading home. The list his dad had written out was far longer then that, and was actually meant to feed two full grown men and keep them healthy. If those things mattered to Hadee, they weren't the most importent things to take care off at the moment.
Glancing at the list in his hand, then down at the fresh fruits, Hadee picked out two tomatoes, wrapped them individually in plastic, set them neatly in the basket. With the procedure done, he went about marking the tomatoes off the list. Methodical, that was Hadee's only way to get through this. Read item, find item, acquire item, buy item. Simple and easy, but enormously boring.
Hadee looked up and over to the front of the store, it was the early afternoon, the sun was shining and it just looked like an ordinary day in Riverside. But in Hadee's mind, the store windows were blanketed in mists, and large bug like creatures clung to the windows, chittering their want to get in and partake in the feast that was inside, and Hadee knew they weren't thinking about the fresh produce.
The chittering stopped and the store brightened, the familiar scenes of shoppers and baggers at the front, minding their business, replaced the scene Hadee had imagined. "The Mist was okay, the ending was good," Hadee murmurered to himself, checking the list again for what was next on the list. Luckily it was the last few items, just odds and ends from the front of the store. With whatever money was leftover, Hadee would grab a movie from near the counter.
